Nuno Gomes has looked every second of his 36 years tonight.

He shouldn't have played in 3 games in 6 days and our "tactics" didn't suit him tonight.....the Benfica fan warned us about playing it up to him in the air like that I think......we need to play on the floor anyway.

Should have been 3, Orr is an absolute passenger.

Can't wait to hear them announce the MOTM on the tannoy.

Who eventually got it? I must have missed it.

Words can't express just how bad of a manager Kean is.....he is a complete and utter joke.

Mowbray is a proper manager.

Marvin Emnes, despite his finishing, is the type of striker we could do with - never stopped.

If we were offered Josh Mceachran and turned it down we were mad to reject it. He keeps the ball better than anyone we have in our ranks.

The lad Carayol shows what a bit of pace can do in this league.

I thought Emnes was excellent. His link up play was brilliant. Josh McEachran ran the show with Emnes. We don't have a player who can dictate a game. It was supposed to be Murphy but he's been cack. Carayol was the outstanding player on the pitch and gave Kean's ass wiper Bradly Orr the complete run around.

Have to say I'm shocked Kean didn't make more of the penalty decision in his interview, but to be honest he has been a lot more realistic in interviews after games recently with recognising our faults, however he seems inept in actually doing anything about them!

As has been said Nunes was good tonight and when the ball was with them Gomes and Rhodes were good but just didnt see enough of it. Formica was beyond slow tonight, never realised how slow he is! Everyone else was poor! Defence is too static whoever we play in there so teams can slip the ball through time and again unless we get a last ditch block in.

We need more down the right hand side but not sure who or what the answer is, Ribeiro is never a right winger, Orr is dreadful and Formica tonight was dreadful too!

As was shown in last few minutes if we had a good manager who could pressure teams I honestly think with this squad we would walk this division! Not a single team I have seen so far can defend to save their lives and that includes us. I really think the standard is very poor!

If we had a center half who could win a header we'd be half way to success.

Fabio Nunes looks a player but he doesn't have pace to beat a man so the ball to him and his starting position needs to be looked at.

W

Middlesbrough made this pitch big as good teams do by playing wide players. Our shape was so lop-sided with too many square pegs in round holes. If you melted Dann and Hanley together in a pot you wouldn't get a good centre half out of them.

I could constantly hear Tony Mowbray shouting to his players but never heard the clueless one at all. He was speaking to his lackeys a lot though, that was some meeting of minds.

Hmmm .... Cryer said before the game that Boro were reckoned to be gash and mooted a 3-1 win for us.

I completely missed the game but it seems our anaemic performances continue. We've been lucky to pick up the points we have, we seem to rely on brilliant strikers to cover our tactical, fitness, organisational and defensive weaknesses. You cannot go through a season like that and hope to go up.

What happens when we get to December and we start playing on bogs of pitches, that will show up the lack of fitness even more and we could start accruing even more injuries because of it. Kean's thrown money at the problem because he knows he hasn't got a ###### clue what he's doing.

What if he's still there at Christmas? The fans are at loggerheads with the club. This can't go on. at least not if we want to be successful. But it's not just him, the whole infra-structure of the club is now peopled with chancers, cronies and ring-holders.

The only way this club can heal is if Venky's go. Please just sell up, you're killing us with your incompetence and lack of care.

Really? I've always noticed he has a chronic lack of pace. It's a massive weakness in his game, especially as technically he's hardly anything special either. He works hard, that's about it.

Bryan, fear not. Boggy pitches will not deter us. Because our biggest and best chances of bagging a goal, on tonight's evidence, is from a set piece.

However, we also looked very very likely to concede in the same manner. So i guess we can expect a consistent level of excrement throughout the season.

Hope i've set your mind at ease Bryan.

I was lead to believe we signed the new Kaka. However, the comparison stops with the two men sharing the same continent. It turns out we've signed the new Paul Telfer. By Christ he tries. But by Christ he's sh!te.

Yes, much appreciated.

Kean in.

As for formiica, he cost us a fortune didn't he? wasn't that the one where there was a whiff of third-party ownership? wonder if balaji picked him?

The opening games and Boro in particular have exposed just how of this squad are totally out of their depth at this level

Orr - a completely useless defender redeemed only slightly by an occasional good cross

Dann - a £5m payer ? wtf!!!

Murphy - slow does not even begin to describe him

Formica - slower than a snail

Ribeiro -a featherweight trying to punch in the heavy weights

Rochina -one good touch in twenty

Edhinho - way way out of depth

Givet - an utterly overrated cult hero - another snail

Lowe - one of the least talented players -albeit a tryer - to emerge from the Academy

Fans are deluded if they think this squad is anywhere close to promotion quality regardless of who is manager

Several other players who are likely to disappear without trace - Rosado, Jorge

Fans are deluded if they can't see how much an effect a manager has on a team.

Someone on here a while ago....in fact it might have been Topman.....said fans were blaming the players through Ince's tenure and at the end of Souness'.....it's down to the manager.....any real manager would be embarrassed if they didn't get our squad promoted.

Terrible only Nunes played well

As bad as Dann is I felt bad for him at times, there's no tactics he can either chip it forward hopefully or pass it in to a midfielder with a man on his back

Another poor performance but this time our luck ran out. As a team we are not able to defend as a unit, consistently Boro were able to expose our defensive weaknesses, they could easily have scored 3 or 4 goals tonight. We had a good go in the last 5 minutes or so and could have got a undeserved point in the end.

I thought that Nunes did well. The rest of our players were way below par. Murphy in particular was again very poor, but I don't agree with some section of the crowd booing him, much of the blame for the poor performances is down to Kean he is not capable of setting up the team correctly which is affecting the performances of players.

Allan, the thing to remember about Givet is he was signed to play alongside Samba and not Scott Dann. By that i mean he was never meant to be the ball winner. However, this evening i watched, open mouthed, as Scott Dann chose to forfeit an easy clearing header, with a cushioned chest pass to a man in red. By this point Givet was at left back and devoid of blame. But the point remains. We are absolutely desperate for a center half who can win the first header. Because Givet is a second ball man. When he goes up for a header he'll lose. When he chases a missed Dann header he'll lose. He's all about that fluffy second ball which comes about after the opposition brute of a striker challenges our ball winner (of which there is none). Once that ball has been contested, Givet is about the best in the business at winning the second ball. Under Big Sam he played this superbly but under Kean he seems to be the one charged with making the initial challenge. He will never win this because he is too small.
