J*B Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 what odds can i get on rhodes to bag a hat trick tonight? 11/1 Paddy Power
Puffsan Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Think the lads will imprøve from last game but so will Boro i think. I just put a 35£ bet on rovers to win and a 45£ bet on rovers to only win with a 1 goal lead, so with my luck we will probably end up losing
PAFELL Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Great preview Clare! Rovers to continue getting lucky with a win completely against the run of play. Anyone watching this one in London? Nope - 65 miles away from there.
braddock Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Quite excited. Will be Friday's are usually filled with anticipation for the weekend but I like the idea of having a Rovers match to look forward to. Allows me to keep up with the rest of the league as it happens, too. One less Friday night out before payday too. I was pessimistic after the Barnsley match but I'm getting more an more confident. Would be happy with a draw. Incidentally, when are Martin Olsson and Kazim Richards due back? I'm not expecting them back just yet but any chance of them being around the game after this one?
davulsukur Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Martin Olsson is back already. Markus was due to be out for around 7-10 days the official site said on monday. Kazim suffered a slight set back and i think he is due to be out for about 2 weeks. http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/trio-miss-tykes-clash-372660.aspx
bradeagle Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Kean has phoned Arsenal seeing if he can borrow this for tonight (minus the sponsors of course)
LeChuck Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Is this on TV? I just assumed so given the Friday night kick-off...but I can't see it anywhere? Markus was due to be out for around 7-10 days What's the correct spelling of his name? I always thought it was Marcus but I see the official site uses Markus. Any information about him on the internet is spelled as Marcus though. This isn't what I'd play but it's my guess at tonight's team: Robinson Orr Hanley Dann Olsson Lowe Murphy Etuhu Pedersen Gomes Rhodes

LeChuck Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Excellent, cheers. Obviously the website I use for listing football on TV isn't as up to date as I thought it was!
Kelbo Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Boro are quite inconsistant and were last season under Mowbray, they can be very good or extremely poor but they have a 23 year old striker who can on his day be a handful, Lukas Jutkiewicz formally of Everton, Coventry, Swindon and Southampton I think, big strong lad who puts himself around, just back from injury!!
RoyRover Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I really don't know what to make of this game tonight. We've been useless all season, but have been able to ride our luck so far. The game against Barnsley was the prime example. I've kept saying that the luck won't last and we will be found out and that hasn't happened. Middlesbrough have some good players and in Emnes, they have a striker that can score goals if presented with chances. The way that we've defended ever since Kean has been in charge allows for this to happen consistently. I wouldn't be surprised if we drew or lost this one. We'll probably deserve one of those two outcomes, but will end up scrapping a win. I really don't know what to make of this game tonight. Backroom Tom Posted September 21, 2012 Backroom Posted September 21, 2012 Going for a glass half full approach Win and we consolidate our position at the top Fail to win and we get to see if the mythical points target is in fact true I think we'll win though 3-1
Mercer Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Going for a comfortable Rovers' win. Two reasons, this really is a very poor league and secondly, our luck - can only think Kean has a pact with the devil !
sharpysharps Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 If we lose to Boro at home i'd be a bit worried, they are awful on the road. Saying that, I think it'll be a draw. We didn;t give Rhodes enough service on Tuesday night, and I expect the same to happen tonight too. Saying that, Gomes has to start, he links up better with Rhodes than Rochina does.
Backroom DE. Posted September 21, 2012 Backroom Posted September 21, 2012 Genuinely no idea. Our luck has to run out at some point. If it had to happen then I guess tonight, live on Sky, would be the best time to get trounced... if Kean is on the edge (which I sadly doubt) a tonking in a live game could add extra weight to the call to sack him.
hesfromburn Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Think we will win this tonight, Its teams like Blackpool & Brighton that could really turn us over, especially when we are playing away. Most other teams our squad is just too strong, barring industries I think certain individuals will carry on too see us through.
martonrover Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Am grateful that this is on Sky as would otherwise have missed it ( work ) but not looking forward to their inevitable pro Kean / anti fan claptrap.
adsfortheblues Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Would be absolutely typical for Rovers to comfortably win this game and put on their best performance of the season with it being on sky, then everyone will be questioning the fans again as to why they aren't attending etc.
cn174 Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Am grateful that this is on Sky as would otherwise have missed it ( work ) but not looking forward to their inevitable pro Kean / anti fan claptrap. Mute is a great button for such situations!
Gav Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Enjoyable preview, Clare Apparently, Boro were awful at Blackpool last night. Rovers to continue our lucky streak and keep a clean sheet. 1nil. deflected goal. Some boro fans in the hotel we're staying in so hoping for a 5-0 win tonight, Rhodes all 5 and Shebbys a hero!
Backroom Tom Posted September 21, 2012 Backroom Posted September 21, 2012 I wonder if this will be Rhodes biggest test of his career so far he probably hasn't come up against many as good as Woodgate yet The worst thing about a win is that Kean will get a live tv interview whilst 4 points clear at the top!
braddock Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 The worst thing about a win is that Kean will get a live tv interview whilst 4 points clear at the top! And you never know, he could talk himself into Manager of the Month! Here's hoping!
