Today is potentially the biggest day in our history since we won the league. There is no underestimating how big this news is. He WILL be sacked today.

Sherwood is likely to be offered the job.

Nothing. He isn't actually getting sacked for not getting results. Poor performances, shoddy defending and an empty stadium seem to be the things finally binning him off. We might play better than we did against Barnsley/Boro in the next 2 games but nothing will change in the long term.

Keans managerial career has been abysmal and we have conceded goals for fun under him. Pointless keeping him in charge as he cannot take the club forward, the fans will NEVER accept him as manager, which is his fault for being awful in his job (amongst other things)

A clean slate, as Shebby would say, sack Kean and have him completely removed from the club, nobody owes him a living, he has been a total failure and deserves the sack. This gives everyone the chance to start the rebuild. Fans who are boycotting will return once he has gone and put a manager in charge who the fans can give 100% backing to. We can have a real shot at promotion should this happen.

100% agreed

Do you think he is going to get sacked or "moved" to another position in the club ?

If he is moved then fans will still not return. Can they not see that? Any sane business person who can see an easy way to increase revenue would make that decision no questions asked, so why cant they?

What bookies runs a market for managers to be sacked in our league?

Think you will find most of those who've bet have gone through BetVictor but I think they closed their book late last night. Odds drifted to 9/2 and a load of money piled-in !

Whatever they do Kean will get paid for the length of his contract. Personally i would put him back in his previous role for this season if he won't walk away with less compensation.

It's a step in the right direction for me, albeit a very small tentative one, the owners still have a long, long way to go with me to gain acceptance...

They now have to make an appointment that gives them back some real credibility in the fans and players eyes, no stop gap appointments like Mr Black here, we need a clean slate with a proven management team that is willing and able to get us back into the top tier of football.

This is all assuming that Kean gets the boot, but haven't we been here before people?

Does anyone know, Kamy100 or anyone else with the inside track, as to why Mrs D is so fiercely loyal to this man? He has survived the sack on a couple of occasions in the past, when the only thing left to do was to bin him off they kept him and now the day might finally be here there are rumours he will still be kept in some capacity at the club?

Just had a look online and currently you cant buy season tickets.. Interesting!!

Watch this space for special offers !

I understand there will be a new price list also reflecting the fact that 4 of the 23 games have already been played.

Rumour is that JW will be available for £329.

12 month anniversary of the first protest March was last week. Whatever anybody says events since have proven the protests completely vindicated.

If he is sacked today and I know it's impossible to predict the future but would anybody care to put a value either financial, social or spiritual on the untold damage that he has heaped on the club and Jacks legacy of top flight football to the town?

I'll believe it when I see it. Knowing our luck we will put feelers out to other managers, nobody will take the job and we will end up keeping him.

Looks like Shebby or Kean will be going, if Kean manages to survive by convincing the owners to give him more time then Shebby's position is untenable.

Kean's friends in the media http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1169711?cc=4716

Sources close to Kean told ESPN: "It doesn't look good - yet the club are on course for 92 points, which would mean promotion. They've had their best start in the Championship ever, yet the club have set a target of 16 points in the first seven games.

"Rumours of Steve's sacking filtered through the club on Friday, so it's little wonder that the team lost.

"Steve has managed in difficult times, having to shed £30 million of costs by selling players - that doesn't make it easy for a manager."
