Gav Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I'll tell you who I DO NOT want... Iain Dowie. I'm not suggesting we are looking at him but what a horrendous manager. and having ready Simon Jordans book about his time at Palace, he's an unsavoury character that we want nowhere near the club.

BigBar Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 and having ready Simon Jordans book about his time at Palace, he's an unsavoury character that we want nowhere near the club. Well if Simon Jordan said so
ABBEY Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 They are apparently now just working out his pay off. However, if true than surely it makes Cryer & Kamy sources saying Mrs D changed mind wrong? Because she wouldn't change her mind then agree his pay off. Time will tell, & of course I appreciate what anyone says who has info, not hating on it just trying to work it all out. I BET YA 20 MILLION POUNDS YOUR WRONG Kean. YOU KNOW THIS BECAUSE?
RevidgeBlue Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Well if Simon Jordan said so Anyone who can say, "If I have to hear one more of David Gold's "East End boy made good" tales, I'll impale myself on one of his dildos" can't be all bad. Actually if you hear Jordan interviewed he comes across exceptionally well imo. Cuts straight through the usual waffle/b/s/doublespeak that surrounds the game.
Black Burn Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Wasn't Mick McCarthy the manager in charge of Sunderland during their disatrous Premiership campaign where they got only 12 or 18 points, the lowest ever points total in the history of the Premiership, and got relegated? Or was that another manager altogether? I like what Jurgen Kilnsman did for Germany during the 2006 World Cup in Germany. I wouldn't mind if he comes over, but like people said what are the chances? The guy's probably happy with managing the US team, right?
ABBEY Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Surely we'd take Robin of Sherwood instead of Kean ? I'd be bloody delighted to have Tim Sherwood as our manager. Will believe it when I see it. id take Tim Rice or a packet of Sharwood Rice over numb nuts.
gumboots Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Curbs is the only man for me...i say this in terms of availability, knowledge and realism! available straight away, done a great job at Charlton, look at them since he left and i genuinely believe he would come here as everytime i have seem him interviewed lately he seems very eager to get back into management...ticks all the boxes! Not into Sherwood, happy to be proved wrong but we cant take the gamble in this crucial year!! experience is key!! Also people saying 'Kean or sherwood...no brainer' etc etc...thats not the option, if it was then yes no brainer but we can have a look for a decent established manager! Reread my post since I'm the one who said no brainer.I did begin by saying we need experience, in my opinion but if venkys don't go for it and the choice is Sherwood or kean then it is a total no brainer. WE don't get to choose venkys do and as long as they choose to get rid of kean and bring in someone who'll do an honest job I'll take it. And there are a lot worse than Sherwood might be.
Gav Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Well if Simon Jordan said so He was backed up by the High Court also clever sod
Elegia Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 We can speculate til the cows come home and each of us have our own preferred next manager but tbh I am at the stage where I couldn't give a flying fig who is our next manager. The sooner and further away form our club Kean is gone the better imho. Whoever our next manager is he will never be as hated as much Kean.
BigBar Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Anyone who can say, "If I have to hear one more of David Gold's "East End boy made good" tales, I'll impale myself on one of his dildos" can't be all bad. You never told me the bit bout the dildo!!!!hahaha pretty funny in fairness, scrap that..very funny!! i actually like him but reckon hes a toe rag!! in a good way if that makes sense! just wouldnt trust him to run a club!
ABBEY Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 , " I have one of David Gold's " impaled" dildos" . he comes exceptionally well . Cuts straight through . Taken from 50 shades of rev.
BPF Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 It appears as though Mr Kean has told friends that he is on his way out. This could be it, it really could be.
Kelbo Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 If Kean goes, in my opinion, the question should be, what attributes do we want from a manager, maybe short term with a bonus, McCarthy could be the man to take us up, for me the manager has to meet the following criteria! 1) To be respected by the players 2) to galvanise the supporters so we are all onside 3) to attain the right results 4) and be young enough to understand the mentality of the modern day player 5) Tactically aware Not neccessarily in that order Things change, as Kenny found out at Liverpool, for me I would be looking at an up and coming manager who is tactically aware and 'in touch' with the modern game, we need someone to lead us, not just the players, but the fanbase and the club as a whole. Who would meet that criteria?
ABBEY Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 You never told me the bit bout the dildo!!!! stop rabbiting.
BigBar Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Reread my post since I'm the one who said no brainer.I did begin by saying we need experience, in my opinion but if venkys don't go for it and the choice is Sherwood or kean then it is a total no brainer. Actually wasnt referring to you at all really, alot of people have been sayin 'Kean or Sherwood' yadda yadda yadda as if thats the only choice or an accepted fact, i personally think we should be aiming alot higher! sayin that the squad we do have, if an average manager came in he would struggle not to get us promoted! just so happens we have had the worst of the worst and even he has struggled not to balls it up completely all be it with ALOT of luck!!
RevidgeBlue Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 You never told me the bit bout the dildo!!!!hahaha pretty funny in fairness, scrap that..very funny!! i actually like him but reckon hes a toe rag!! in a good way if that makes sense! just wouldnt trust him to run a club! Maybe. I think I'm right in saying he lost a very substantial personal fortune owning Palace. Whether it was his fault or unavoidable or a mixture of both I've no idea.
bob fleming Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 You reckon we might have another Gem on our hands there Bob? You don't Captain a team to the league title without something about you. There were a few strong personalities in that squad. He was their Captain. He's been quietly doing his time at Spurs. I reckon he could step up. As others have said though - there's a good argument for an experienced manager. I'd be happy with Sherwood though. However, as others have said, this is wayyyyyy too premature this talk anyway. I will stop.
BigBar Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 It appears as though Mr Kean has told friends that he is on his way out. This could be it, it really could be. Go on............
m1st Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I've only re-read the last 3 pages or so [so only the last hour or so on here!] but has anybody else floated Simon Grayson's name? He's someone who ticks the "Former player" box, has served his apprenticeship as a manager and could possibly be tempted to a club with apparently wealthier owners than Huddersfield.
bob fleming Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 It appears as though Mr Kean has told friends that he is on his way out. I don't believe it. He has friends?
Black Burn Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I don't believe it. He has friends? Even the devil has friends, my dear Bob. Oh yeah, and in addition to my earlier Sunderland comment, wasn't McCarthy the manager of Wolverhampton who got relegated last season? If we hire him, he might turn out to be another Kean.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 It appears as though Mr Kean has told friends that he is on his way out. This could be it, it really could be. You obviously didn't get the full story - he is on his way out - to the pub for a drink.
Gav Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Anyone who can say, "If I have to hear one more of David Gold's "East End boy made good" tales, I'll impale myself on one of his dildos" can't be all bad. Actually if you hear Jordan interviewed he comes across exceptionally well imo. Cuts straight through the usual waffle/b/s/doublespeak that surrounds the game. I’ve just read his book, comes across a decent bloke and has a dislike for Gold, Sullivan and Brady which is good enough for me. He walked into St Andrews for one game and was met by Sullivan in that silly Cossack outfit he wears. After Sullivan claimed Palace are always getting dodgy decisions, Jordan remarked: "Have you seen yourself David? The only dodgy decision today is you putting on that get-up, Are you doing the half time entertainment, and is Karen your dancing bear?"
Blue n White Rover Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 It appears as though Mr Kean has told friends that he is on his way out. This could be it, it really could be. Just been told the same! Anyday now!!
DannyKeg Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 It is probably premature, but perhaps someone could set up a poll to see who we would prefer as the next manager. Sherwood, Shearer, Klinsman McCarthy, Curbishly, Other..
