That would endear us even more to our Huddersfield chums.

Also heard Hoyle wont let him go to a divisional rival.......

cue "huddersfield Ben".............

he wouldnt be my choice of manager but someone who ticks a lot of boxes people on here have been saying is Alex Mcleish

experienced

out of work (i.e cheap)

promoted from the championship in past

knows how to organise a defence

and i might be wrong but , hasnt he worked with Eric Black before?

Three things that i want in the new manager :-

1) He is not on the books of Kentaro.

2) His wife (if he's married) stays away from Mrs Desai.

3) He picks his team based upon the strongest possible team in the squad (i.e Simon should be considered)

Naturally experience is a preference to potential/and respect + integrity are musts.

4) doesn't own a dog!

sorry can someone please tell me what I have missed. is there a link to the news that he is defo going?

No mate. Just rumblings. Fella at the Mirror thinks he is, same with the guy at the Mail. One or two have posted that Kean has told "friends" that he is off as well.

It'll be another couple of years yet I reckon.

Curbishley fits the bill IMO:

1- Has the experience of getting a side promoted.

2- Has kept up with the modern game with his media work. Listen to the guy on SSN to discuss current events in the game, he knows his stuff.

3- Has managed to keep sides in the Premier League. He kept Charlton in the league for years and even had them pushing for the Uefa cup places. Kept West Ham up when they looked doomed, following season had them in the top half before he left.

4- Can manage on a budget.

5- I remember his Charlton and West Ham sides playing some pretty decent football.

Any managerial appointment is a gamble, but I could see a Pardew mk2 if he got back into the game. Pardew had been out of the game for some time but he has done a really decent job since coming back into football management. Listening to the guy it's clear he wants to get back into management, he's just looked for the right opportunity and a chance to be considered.

I don't know if he would take the job or if Venky's would consider him a target, but if I was them he would be the first manager I would be looking to speak to.

The removal of Allardyce et al need not have been such a problem imo had they been replaced in timely fashion by people of similar calibre. They weren't. All that said, had we appointed a top notch manager to replace Allardyce...........

'similar calibre'.... 'top notch'

Finally an admission from Rev Blue that Allardyce is a top manager. :rover:

Allardyce's style can be dull but he gets teams as a collective punching way above their weight as individuals. I'm sure that most BRFC fans will appreciate that quality now. Unfortunately whenever we dispose of Kean I doubt we will get a manager of 'similar calibre' to Allardyce.

I haven't once said it's true. Just passing on what was said. For all it's worth I think he'll stay

Yeah i know you didnt - ive just become so bitter and twisted about this whole situation i find it crazy that next managers have been mentioned by fans before we have even got shut of this prize nob.

for the last couple of years it has been like I have been stuck down a well banging my head against the wall. Every now and then someone keeps dangling a ladder down and just as im about to grab it its gets pulled back up out of my grasp by a bald tool licking his lips then giving a hiddous smirk.

Being ribbed by two people who no longer attend matches feels like being savaged by a dead sheep as Denis Healey once famously said of Geoffrey Howe.

Touche!

;):P

Rev have you not considered that if Den and I along with several thousand others had not packed up this thread would not exist. Problem you selfish lot now have is the problem of getting us back when he's gone..... and I can assure youthat as far as I am concerned it isn't a forgone conclusion.

I'm really surprised that people are already touting successors to the slimeball. This game has been played so many times now it has become boring and every time it has happened the outcome has left fans feeling deflated and frustrated. Not until I hear it from any official channels will I believe anything. The horrible little jock has more lives than a cat and his previous where he has lied, passed the buck and played the sympathy card could well be his saviour once again.

so for all we know it could be B o l u x

Could well be, there is so much smokescreen and mirrors at the moment - fact or fiction is very hard to determine.

My personal opinion, is that he is going in the next 2 weeks; I have a feeling they want to line someone up and agree an amicable NDC and pay out with Kean. I am hoping they are not "Kean" to repeat the same failure as when they sacked Allardyce and had no new manager to come in....................and we all know how that turned out !

But they did have a replacement lined up in Kean !

We were dying a slow lingering death under the Trustees. The Rao's came in and ripped the life support machine off the wall. Hopefully we can patch it up and get it back up and running again with the appointment of the right manager.

Suggestions Simon? Realistic ones only please.
