Surely we could never look at the Chorley boys as a serious option? That would be beyond terrible and I can't beleive Shebby even knows these are ex rovers player in coaching roles.

Hopefully we'll at least be a tiny bit sensible

Lets not forget glen is only stating an opinion on twitter an nothing more, if he had mentioned these to Shebby then yes it would be a disgrace but there is noting to suggest he has done

Ex Getafe and Real Madrid - Bernd Schuster, definatly would be my dream manager!

Otherwise I'l have Tim Sherwood and Tony Parkes. John Williams as Director , please.

If we want to go down the ex-rovers as a manager, Then Simon Grayson should be considered. Who also knows how to get the best out of Jordon Rhodes.

Surprised that Karl Robinsons name hasn't been mentioned more prominently

I have,

I would have Shearer and Newell as manager and number 2. and John Williams as MD. with Agnew leaving and Shaw doing his job.

Wow wow and wow ,

Talk about conspiracies . People are million miles off the mark here . I really do wonder some times where all these stories are dreamed up.

I tweeted out the names of some managers who are on very large list of candidates , who I may add ain't a list which was dreamed up last 48 hours . Then all of a sudden I'm the one advising it ? Come on guys get a grip , do you realise how daft that sounds ? I have not read all the comments on this but enough to say , I'd be rather careful before even suggesting such a thing

I personally think we need an experienced manager , and it's still not hit me that keans gone . Rovers have plenty of advisors , plenty of agents , and will base any choice on their advise NOT supporters advise , which to my knowledge I don't think they have even asked , or indeed even considered asking .

I suppose next time I see someone else report something they have heard , then I will put that in the , they have suggested this camp?

At a time all supporters need to be united and looking to the future , some still are hell bent at not being

Glen

It's just the thought of us bringing in the Chorley boys is sickening, imagine if we were

Chorley FC are 8th in their league, the mighty Marine FC are top can you imagine the reaction if someone mentioned we should go for their manager Kevin Lynch?

Good players for Rovers they may have been but they haven't even come close to earning a shot at Ewood

Wouldn't mind any of these:

Robinson

Mick M

Holloway

Harry R

Curbs.

And a few more.

We dont need any of these imo

Shearer

Sherwood

Black

Flitcroft.

I mean, anyone should get the support but if we appoint someone with no experience It's just like appointing a more popular Steve Kean. Done on the cheap.

That's the problem with twitter tweets to vague, misinterpretation by one person and bang the escalator is in overdrive.

As it happens when I read tour tweet and follow ups it certainly could be very easily be interpreted in such away, I've not commented myself yet! lol

Glen, thanks for that.

Regarding when you say a experience manager who would you go for please???

Also here a times of India article about Balaji Rao talking about Kean resigning and the next manager

In truth I'm not too sure . I'd like someone who can work with what we have , can work on any budget from zero upwards . Wants the job for the right reasons , and has a strong dressing room and training ground presence .

There is many managers to choose from out there and I do not think rovers need to rush this appointment

Let's not jump to conclusions here, we don't know whether Mr. Mullan has put Flitcroft, Short and Jansen's names forward to Shebby or not. I for one wouldn't even entertain the thought of bringing them in, and even appointing Sherwood is a risky move. I won't forget the manner in which Sherwood left the club so from an emotional standpoint I can't say I would welcome him back with open arms because he was our Premier League winning captain. Same with Shearer...

The first of many hurdles has just been crossed by firing Kean, but judging by the past 24 months I won't get my hopes up about the future being all bright.

I see McClaren is doing well at Twente (again), maybe he could do a job?

He was on SS not too long ago stating that he was forced out of the club and then made out to be the villain by the then manager.

All I know is that selling him was the main reason that we got relegated.

I wouldn't have McCarthy because he has proven to be inept at PL level. If he took us up there is every chance he'd take us stright back down. There is a feeling that he had no money at Wolves which isn't true. He had a fair budget most seasons and he either spent it on dross or he couldn't get the best out of those he did sign.

I wouldn't take Mcleish simply because he guided Rangers to a 3rd place finish one season.

I wouldn't take Shearer, Sherwood, Flitcroft, Jansen, Short, Newell, Sutton or even Jimmy flaming Corbett. None of them have the necessary experience to pick this club up off its knees.

I can't see Dalglish or Redknapp being interested.

For me, the perfect man is Curbishley. He has the experience. There'd be no compensation and If he got us up i think he could organise us well enough to stay up. When we had Allardyce he was as sure a bet as you could get to keeping us up. Curbishley is of a similar ilk. For me it is an absolute no brainer.

We can forget Sherwood for sure if Spurs want £ 3 million for him. There's is no guarantees in football when you're appointing a manager, who'd have thought Owen Coyle would struggle at Bolton like he has, or going back a bit Bryan Clough at Leeds. Some managers though are more of a good bet than others, like them or loathe them Martin O'Neill at Sunderland and a certain Sam Allardyce at Rovers and now West Ham will give you a certain level of performance. I think 'Arry falls into this group, he'd be pretty sure that he'd have us challenging for the top three.

If we could get him in I'd be over the moon, if we could also get either Karl Robinson or Keith Hill to work under him in a sort of Ray Harford role with a view to talking over from 'Arry eventually, that would be an ideal situation. We spent £ 8 Million on Rhodes, we'd have been better off spending some of that on a top appointment

Having said that would it surprise me if the fools from Pune made a completely off the wall appointment ? No not in the slightest. They'll be smarting about having their hands forced with Kean and in my own opinion they have no love for either the club or the fans. They are capable of making a spiteful appointment When I said anybody would be better than Kean I wasn't thinking of Messrs Flitcroft, Jansen and Short.

Somebody earlier in the thread said we need a manager to frighten the players- how do you frighten a 25 yr old millionaire ? Oh I know, reverse your old banger into his Ferrari.

What we actually need is a manager to inspire the ones who want to be real players and blow out the ones who don't.

The situation we find ourselves in means this choice is probably the most important one the club has ever made , get this wrong and we will really be in trouble. With that in mind any talk of " having a gamble " is completely foolish. Whoever comes in as our manager has got to be experienced, I would accept a less experienced assistant. Maybe I'm being unkind to Black but for me he's too deeply involved with what has gone on before to remain. Just watch Venkies give him the job whilst the end of the season now !
