All that goodwill they've won from sacking Kean, they're about to flush it down the crapper, I'm sure of it.

If they (Please don't use that word again) this up, by making a Hollywood appointment of Shearer (who didn't set the world on fire at Newcastle) or by appointing Black (because they're all at sea and don't know who to go for, because they can't agree on anything), then the place will erupt and they'll be no coming back from it.

I still think di Canio would be a good outside bet, or if you wanted to play it safe, then Curbishley.

In all seriousness now, i'm genuinely worried they're going to make a hash of the new manager and I was a bit hasty renewing ... I think i'd prefer to have bought a seat for the Wolves game and see how it goes.

What are my chances of cancelling the season ticket? Am I covered by any DSR?

I guess what we could end up with is Black being caretaker for 2 months. And then he gets the job by default.

It just reinforces the need for local management that the day-to-day running of the club can be devolved to.

I'm honestly cringing at what they will do next.

Would Tugay be a good choice?

I'm all for giving people second chances

The guy had plenty of chances though and managed to rile people up every time

If it is him, come on, give him one final chance and make sure he understands that.

His views add colour to this site and provided he doesn't get too personal - always maintained that individuals should have a right to defend themselves and have a go back ! - don't see the harm.

The place will erupt if Shearer is appointed? Bit harsh! Best player we'll ever see in a Rovers shirt in our life time, probably the best English striker we'll see in our lifetime. He only managed Newcastle for 8 games and the club was in turmoil!

If he could get a solid assistant then the excitement factor of having such a huge name at the club can not be ignored. I would have thought he would be one name we could all unite behind.

Cryer reckons he has these 2 games to prove himself. Can't win.

He wins and does well we're stuck with him, which imo would be disastrous.

He does terrible & we are a distance off the leaders.

Why can't they just say he's in charge till we find a manager, what's wrong with not promoting someone useless & actually appointing a proven "manager"

Yes, perhaps I could've phrased that better. But I can't see Shearer doing well here. Perhaps I will be proved wrong. Time will tell. I just have no faith in Venky's whatsoever, primarily becaus ethey don't know what they're doing.

Pretty sure you can cancel within 14 days of receipt that's the case for match tickets anyway because I did it once, had to put it in writing though. I've not been to Ewood since the Wigan game so myself and 4 others have just got the one ticket for now - I'd be prepared to give anyone a shot but would prefer someone with experience (not necessarily PL experience), but not Black - that would just prove they are completely clueless.

Whoever gets the manager's position should be given a fair chance by the fans. If they aren't then they'll be doomed to fail from the very beginning.

I agree. Although I do not want either Black or flitcroft. I will give the one who comes in the chance to prove themselves. Whoever it is, desired choice or not. It is then down to them to either make a success of it or do a kean and screw it up.

Black should not be judged on Saturdays result. But there should be an improvement for the next match.

Shearer would give the whole place a lift , and with the right backroom staff , could be successful , my concern is defensively we're weak , the new team will have to work on our defensive side ... Are Shearer , Newell and Dowie good defensive coaches?? would much prefer someone like Tony Adams involved

The fans won't back Black, he's just as toxic as Kean is. For there to be a clean slate and for the fans to unite there can't be a promotion from within again.

Not supporting the next manager without giving them a reasonable chance will victimise Kean and add to the media perception that Rover's fans are fickle.

I don't want Black as the next manager because I think we can do better and need someone with experience. If he's appointed I won't automatically hate the man though.

To be fair, it is simple logic: Giving Black a "chance"(while they search for a proper manager) will motivate him to do the best job possible. While he followed Kean's plan on Saturday, I expect him to be completely free from those influences when we meet forest and potentially wolves(a team who are on fire atm).

Do I want him as a manager? Nope. I hope he realize that we can't play pedersen and lowe on the wings...

If he gets the appointment, hopefully we aim much higher than that, it is adamant that we support him. He is not Kean... Just look at those infamous quotes in the LT article today!
