The Shebby interview is scary.

I can't believe noone has picked up on the amount of times he has mentioned 'Whether or not the manager is appointed from within the club or externally.'

They are wanting to do this on the cheap! If Black wins the next two, he'll get the job.

They didn't even fire Kean...let's face it...Venkys are going to make the wrong decision.....as always.

I really hope that I'm wrong but Shebby said that sentence at least three times.

It reminded me of telling someone bad news...

"I'm sure it will be fine....but something bad might happen"

Have you seen the Sky interview or the BBC one?

The one in the office (sky I think) is more structured, rather than off the cuff.

I wouldn't put it past them signing Black up tho - major mistake if you ask me. This is their chance to show some positive intent and gain some respect.

give black the job and im done with rovers

Nice to see you support them through thick and thin.

Even if they do appoint Black - should we not at least give him a chance ?

Personally I think Shebby will be after a higher profile manager. After all, this is the man that turned down £2m Cox as he wasn't good enough - and then splashed out £8m on Rhodes.

I'm not going to respond too much on speculation because until we hire someone it's just that, speculation. I'll be happy with some of the names being mentioned, and despondent with others.

However this is a message to Venkys, Shebby, Shaw or whoever is in the hiring game at Ewood. For me this is last chance saloon, I've all but finished my saspirilla and asking for a showdown outside the town clock. I was daft enough to say to friends "let's give this Kean chap a chance, Venkys are at least being decisive." (although that was just as he was given the job and they'd bought the club.) I can assure you that you will not get that leverage again, not from me anyway.

This is the most pivotal moment in your short stewardship of Blackburn Rovers, make the correct, calculated, thoughtout and uplifting choice, and you'll have made great strides in building the bridges you burnt by hiring Kean and your actions following on from that.

I beg you not to think "we need fans, lets get a former player in." if they aren't management material, then thank them, but show them the door and go onto the next candidate.

You can Ill afford to gamble with our club any further than you already have. So to whom it may concern, get in touch with all the "old heads" within the game who you know or at least haven't previously p####d off with your antics throughout your tenure, and get their advice, tap into their knowledge, this is knowledge which can't be bought but is so important in securing the right candidate to galvanise a squad, a fan following, and a community.

I can't claim to be in the know but a good sauce tells me we're being linked with Portuguese Ken Estavé, ex of Segunda Divisão side FC Infesta.

Which "sauce" is that - HP or Heinz ? Please spill the beans.

If really fear Venkys will do the same mistake all over again by appointing Eric Black.

During the 2 years that they have been our owners, they have made so many horrible decisions that I dont trust them to do the right thing now.

However, last time around they knew nothing about football, Jerome "Lucifer" Anderson was their key advisor and thanks to him Steve Kean was made manager. The difference this time is that JA is more or less completely out of the picture - and Shebby Singh, a football pundit, is now their key advisor.

Now, he is not an agent with only his own interest and agenda, he is actually close with the owners and wanting to make a right decision it seems.

This is Venkys big chance to do something right.

Having spent 8 million on Rhodes, Venkys showed they are really keen on promotion and they are willing to spend some serious money in order to gain that. Therefore, saving money by appointing Black (who has never been anything higher than assistant manager, if im correct?) on the cheap, doesnt add up with their desperate wish of promotion.

Use some money on a good manager, an experienced one. Or Sherwood with a good nr 2 and backroom staff (im getting more and more keen on Sherwood the more I think about it).

Eric Black is the new fav to get the full time managers job on sky bet :(

I wouldnt pay too much attention to that. It's not a big market so small amounts of money can shift things. If there's any information we'll likely pick it up here around the same time or even before the betting markets do.

We all know it's going to be Black. It's the cheapest option and they know he won't turn it down. If the selection and formation at Charlton is anything to go by he's as clueless as Kean. The players certainly won't be motivated so even the usual short term improvement won't apply. By Xmas when promotion is a distant prospect we'll be here again.

It doesn't require a great deal of money to change hands for odds to be cut. It seems very unlikely that the owners are set on any particular target yet so betting trends aren't that great an indicator just yet.

Just have to watch where them bets are placed. If its near that school in the Wimbledon area???

Conspiracy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope these last two years haven't turned us into utter cynics to those who don't deserve it. Black hardly had any management preparation time so he was always going to leave things as they were.

Always remember things like Hughes' first match in charge (didn't we get trounced 4-1?) or Ooijer's debut performance. Sometimes things don't turn out as they first appear.

I'll tell you one thing Black doesn't deserve and that's the rovers job. Only in this alternate venky universe would he be a serious consideration. I think most neutrals would agree we currently have at least the 21st best squad of players in the country. We and they deserve at least the 21st best manager, not ANOTHER cheap nomark appointed because venkys are too clueless, stingy, controlling or lazy to hire a proper manager. We should be rightly furious after having to put up with Kean if his number 2 is then hired.

Did the guys on here get paid out when Kean left or does the bet become void if they resign?

BetVictor deposited funds in my account within about 20 minutes of the news ! Wife and daughter deliriously happy after blowing it, leaving me just enough for a bottle of Ragnaud Sabourin's Cognac.
