After the initial euphoria of Teflons long awaited departure....frightening stuff is this, many of the names mentioned are mere Rookies looking to cut their managerial teeth so to speak....

Have we learned nothing?,this could all go so horribly wrong AGAIN!

We need an experienced manager who will bring in experienced and knowledgeable backroom staff to mould this side better than it is right now.A man respected on and off the field for his managerial nouse is just the ticket.

Why not Larsson? He looks like a very promising upcoming manager.

Where have you read that?

"This led many fans to protest against both the board and Henrik Larsson, sarcastically questioning whether the club had used a lookalike instead of the real Larsson.[63] The crisis went so deep within the association that the board wanted Larsson himself to make a comeback as a player."

Who would your man be Den?

without knowing who's available, it's an impossible question bish.Going round the houses here, but it's been my belief that we had two problems - firstly the manager obviously was useless and secondly the squad doesn't have the all round qualities needed to win enough games. Based on that second point we need someone with plenty of experience, preferably in English football, because coupling a poorish squad with an inexperienced manager is asking for trouble.

A bit premature - all because somebody says they are interested in the job doesn't mean we would hire them, or even consider them.

Until somebody is appointed - it is pointless calling the club - when in reality nobody knows what they are thinking.

I think the main priorities for the appointment of a manager should be:-

Essential

1) Ability to organise a squad around a strong game plan and maximise ability.

2) Experienced/ Proven

3) Ability to motivate.

4) Proven Integrity and good public image - absolute must for Venky's public/fan relations.

(These are important in gaining promotion/steadying the ship)

Very desirable

5) To echo Jack's words someone who "Thinks Big" in other words ambitious and not after an easy ticket.

6) Likely hood to adopt Rovers as their own in their heart and not just accept a pay cheque.

(These would become more desirable after promotion/long-term)

It defies all logic that Shebby Singh is the man to find us a manager.

Haha! Exactly what I was thinking, what a joke that bloke is.

Now Kean has gone, for me, should be bringing back John Williams.

If Black was offered the job after four convincing wins with much improved performances where better team spirit, defending, attacking and tactics were noticeable would you still all be pi55ed off?

Also, nobody is going to tell him he's not in with a shot at getting the job. It defies logic to tell him that whilst he needs to try his best for the next few games that he'll be out of the job when we bring another manager in regardless of how he and the team perform.

Much better to give him an incentive to perform well and the support that he needs as our caretaker manager.

EDIT - I don't want Black at this point in time either but I think he should be given our full support. If you'd have been told on Friday morning that Kean would be gone that night and that Black would be in charge for a week or two you'd have all jizzed to death.

If that was the case then I don't think people would be p*ssed off BUT such an appointment wouldn't draw back the crowds. THE FANS WANT A FRESH FACE & A FRESH START.

I hope to god Venkys do too.

For the love of god will people stop spouting all these rubbish names. I don't care if he's played for Rovers or not, I highly doubt the majority of fans do either? Only one aspect should be considered and that's ability. There are plenty of great names out there plying their trade at lessers clubs and in lower leagues who would jump at the chance of coming to a club with intentions of premier league football. Go out there and grab a man who's worked miracles and his highly regarded as a coach, someone like Ivan Jovanovic would be great and the championship is surely a step up from Cyprus with Venkys supposed intentions.

Only heard that name mentioned once before at that was not in public . Coincidence.

Granted it wouldn't draw the crowds back straight away but if performances were on the up and Black turned out to be a decent guy i'm sure people would come back.

I just don't want people ousting our next manager whoever that may be before they've even been appointed yet.

Kean got the job after a crappy 1-1 draw with West Ham so Black may already have won the position after the Charlton match.

If we were still seeing weird decisions like Vukcevic frozen out etc, then yes.

The best thing Black can do for himself is publicly distance himself from Kean and his regime. Then he needs to quickly stamp his mark on the team and show he's his own man - get Vukcevic back in, stop playing Lowe on the right wing etc.

Rafa Benitez

Jose has just said he will return to England at some point. Maybe him and Guardiola could not come to Rovers either.

Nobody knows what his allegiance to Kean was. Black might have hated him as much as the fans. Sure people will have a different opinion of him if he does distance himself.

I've got nothing against Black, but if he is appointed as manager Venkys have learnt nothing !

He is NOT the man for this huge job, we somebody with experience who has "been there and done it" not some rookie is little/no managerial experience ! If they promote him they might as well have burnt the £15 million spent on players this summer.

and that's the reason I don't think Black will get the job, are they really that stupid ??

I take your point but for me it has to be a fresh start.

Rightly or wrongly Black is damned by association and is in charge by default only.

I support him as caretaker but would be very unhappy if he gets the gig.

Jose will see out his contract. Guardiola is having a year off. Rules them both out.

Seriously it makes sense to start from the top and work down. I think people are underestimating the potential of this club and as reported Rovers are receiving a flood of interest. His family live in the area and would be the perfect opportunity to get back into management....in England which is what he wants to do

I would imagine that Kean was lined up before that game even took place.

Remember a little article by Andrew Cole that said a little bird had told him Sam was going to get sacked and Kean would get the job once Venky's took over?
