Am I missing something? Solskjaer's management experience is 2008 - 2011 Utd reserves, 2011 - present Molde. I've heard he's supposed to be good but can somebody explain why he would be mentioned in the same breath as certain others in this thread. Think he needs a year or two at MK Dons before he's considered for the mighty blues.

venkys need to step up to the plate now and appoint someone to stir some excitement back into the fans, they need to push the boat out for a proven manager, going down the number 2 route hasn't worked, doing so again would just alienate alot of supporters and show they clearly haven't moved forward, forget about cheap appointments, the next one could be the defining one in venkys' tenure, fans want to see some ambition from the owners after all the heartache they have put us through the last couple of years. forget up-and-coming managers, we want experience, someone the fans can chant for with pride. Would i be against shearer? no as it least it shows some form of ambition, schuster and coaches of his ilk would give some stability back to the club. Forget who the players want as if it was up to them, they would go with what they know as it would mean keeping them in the comfort zone. We need a manager who can kick some arses and tell it like it is, who doesn't bullshit the fans and who can take a hold of the club by the scruff of its neck and give it a good shake. Venkys need to wise up and listen to what the fans have to say and most of us say bring in a damned manager!!!

I agree with not giving the players a say, in fact i'd rule out anyone one who the players big up.

I think Paul Merson should be approached to fill the managers position, with the offer of a three year contract at £6 million per annum.

He would either reply with a libellous letter turning us down, or agree to an interview, after which the club could issue a statement on SSN that unfortunately he had not been successful in his application on the one criteria that he was not good enough with his spoken English and therefore the job has been given to Solskjaer.

 Very good!

Great sig too!

Palace are on a good run. I think Mercerman mentioned Dougie Freedman as a possible which I questioned at the time. That's looking like a decent shout now. He fits the young, up-and-coming criteria and he's working well at a club in a bit of turmoil behind the scenes. So perfect for us :(

I think he's one of Nicko's favourites as well.

does Bernd Schuster speak English???

he is a good choice to be next manager but who else has applied for the job. suppose 24 managers have applied for the manager's job.

I still dont know who my choice would be yet

Results showing again this is an open league. This appointment is so important.

Need someone who can gel the team, sort the defence, keep us scoring, apease the fans, keep Shebby & Venkys quiet, have a "singable" name and all will be good!

Um...forgive me for being ignorant, but what were those promises he failed to deliver? And since when did he lie? I was't aware of any lies he made during his time here.

Fabio Nunes? Turned out to be good. The rest haven't played yet other than Junior, so it remains to be seen.

Well telling us he had the power to fire the manager. He was powerless when it came to it and then says he is surprised Kean chose to resign. In other words he didnt do the deed !!He lied and backtracked live on Talksport about what he had said at KGH.Theres a million posts to that effect on this MB.

That is lying isn't it? Maybe the way these idiots behave they dont see it as that-seems to have been a culture throughout this club for 2 yrs.

Fabio Nunes turned out to provide one good cross and hasnt been sighted since.I think he is as promising as any but where the hell are the rest other than blocking off all our homegrown talent in our rather expensive to run academy. So to say fabio has come good is a wee bit premature. And you say the rest havent played yet- i rest my bloody case!!

Sein Englisch ist nicht sehr gut

Wouldn't be my choice.

I never said he was my choice, just said whether he speak English to good standard enough to communicate to players without help.

Think a British nationally manager would be my choice.

who's your choice Mercerman btw???

i thought you was on about black ..sorry

If theres a sudden bout of Portugese imports in the squad during Black's period in charge i think we will know the name of our new manager=Kean Mark 2 !!!

I think Keith Hill can be ruled out of the running. Beaten convincingly by Peterborough this evening at home. He's definitely got potential to run a top level championship team in 5 or so years but he isn't the man to manage the Rovers as we are.

I'm sure it's hard for everyone to pick one name at the moment until we know who's applied and what the shortlist is. Nicko seems to think it's Sherwood, Shearer or Black but with so many names, i'm sure that's not the case.

Not to be pedantic but Nunes provided two great crosses for goals in our last 3 games

Hardly not seen since

Bit of a turnaround for Peterborough two away wins on the trot after losing all their previous games. Our job's come too soon for Hill in reality. I still think he'll go on to bigger things in the future.

What's with the love-in with OGS? He's just an unproven rookie but loads of you are drooling over him.

Well, several reasons, but how about taking over Molde, who has never ever won the league - and win it in his first season, and not only that, this year he is close do winning it again ( Molde is on 1st place with only a few remaining games left).

He has a good backroom staff - and Im telling you Solskjær is going to be a Premier League manager in not too long.

If we get him, I would be delighted. BUT, its not going to happen, because as I said, the season is not over untill mid November and Molde is on course to winning the league again.
