Having seen his quotes, I actually find his non-answer quite encouraging. Rather than saying 'no' (which you would say if you weren't interested), he stays on the fence, which strikes me as a 'Make me an offer' kinda comment.

Totally agree - to be honest I thought it was all paper talk until I read his interview. IMO he is interested - obviously doesn't mean he will come - but more hopeful than I think anyone dared imagine.

"but I have not spoken to Blackburn as yet."

Been trying to keep up, so I may have missed this, but why the strong support for OGS?

Because he is awesome.

On a more serious note, he managed Molde and turned them from relegation fodder into league champions in his first season and looks set to retain the title in his second season with 6 games remaining, won a few cups with Manchester United Reserves, and is an up-and-coming young manager with super potential, great attitude, winning mentality and sound tactics.

BREAKING: Pep Guardiola agrees 4 year deal with Blackburn Rovers to replace Steve Kean #BRFC

Any views?

Christ on a bike, I've heard it all now.

Tell him to stick fifty quid on it at 250/1 he'll be minted. B)

It's complete bollock$. Why would they write it?

I do think though that the Rovers job would be the ideal case for either he or Mourinho to prove that they are indeed the best in the business. Surely it's harder to get us up to scratch than to sit and watch whilst Xavi and Iniesta pass the oppostion to death?

In reality they would probably get fed up in about a week after having to preside over seemingly unfit players messing up yet another training session with their lack of Champs league talent.

Very true. But I agree with the poster above. We should reject Guardiola and wait for Mourinho.

Regarding this sarcastic comment and to digress a little but why is Guardiola regarded in the same echelons of management as Mourinho? Guardiola has managed one team and luckily got the era when Lionel Messi came of age. My nan could have managed that Barcelona side to numerous trophies.

When it comes to tactical nous Guardiola has been found out time and time again, then spits his dummy out and claims his side won the moral victory by playing the better football. Most over-rated manager methinks and whilst he would never come here in a million years I honestly don't think he'd be as good as people think if he did.

Stab in the dark is Heiko Vogel of FC Basel. Young (36), German, and has been very successful in his first job at Basel. Has experience with Bayern Munich youth team so will know how to work with youngsters, just what Venky's are after.

You can't be suggesting a man who's never played pro football.

Decent shout Fergie was gutted he left.

Souness and Roy Keane would be a decent combination. Doubt we would be moaning about players not giving 100%!! :)

Those two would spend more time fighting each other than anything else.

Never go back.

interview with Shebby.

He asks Shebby if he wanted Steve to go. He pretty much said yes, said he has flaws.

Very strong views coming through in that one.

I can't see how they can get away with not appointing someone with decent experience considering he says that everyone is applying for it.

You mean like Mourinho, Stuart Baxter or Roy Hodgson? Surely not...

In the history of world football that's 3, so a bit of a risk when you consider there are experienced options out there.

He might as well have said "Yes I wanted him to go." And when answering the question regarding Keans flaws "His flaws were, he was an abysmal manager"

He is calling for fan patience regarding the next manager but he really needs to deliver on this and that instantly rules out Eric Black

I thought exactly the same thing, he wouldn't go around telling everybody that we have been getting applications from some top managers and turn around and appoint the likes of Eric Black, I have confidence Shebby will not let us down !

Nice.

Thanks

Seriously though, we want someone who is loyal to our club. Someone who will stick with us no matter what happens with our owners.

Are you being serious Teacup?

If a manager stays at a club like Rovers for 10 years, it pretty much means that he's treaded water at the absolute best.

I'd rather have another Hughes who comes in for 2/3/4 years, performs miracles and then moves on to a bigger club, leaving a bit of a legacy behind.

Shebby's best interview yet, what a charmer(think i'm developing a little man crush!!!).

I actually feel less comfortable having watched the interview, I can't take him seriously at all, hopefully he can do enough to change my opinion on him though.
