Bumped into Dowie coming out of Ewood and suggested that that performance would surely signal an end to any interest Shearer might have - all I got was a wry smile.

Don't know if Newell was there, he was expected to be there.

Really really dont want Shearer as manager with Dowie and Newell...or without them for that sake.

There is one man who can save our season:

Venky's should be kicking down Curbs' door. Offer him a contract with a large bonus if promotion is achieved. Venky's could offer just a season contract if Curbs wants that or Venky's want to review the management option next season. The guy would get us promoted, I have no doubts about that.

Getting tired of hearing that Shearer or Sherwood would get the place buzzing again.......we are not going back in time and signing them as players.

The worry is the "owners" think more fans will come back if they sign an ex player and, for them, could be seen as a marquee signing.

Why take the risk of putting complete novices as managers, we have been there a few times before and got burnt.

Two rather worrying aspects of this for me:

1. Before the game there was an interview with Shebby on Radio Rovers. He said this exact phrase: "Y'know...the fans have to trust me....I hope the fans go home on Saturday seeing what Eric can do with this team'

2. The commentary team were HEAPING praise on Black like he was our new manager today.

So Dowie was there checking on his future team(rovers) he will be assistant manager to. Shearer is very much interest in managing us.

100% noticed both of your points today. Shebby-wise, could argue he was merely trying to boost Black and the team's confidence ahead of the game.

Radio Rovers is a strange one but they're a strange operation most of the time tbh - avoiding asking the 'difficult' questions and towing the party line.

The co-comentator is particularly deluded. 1-0 down with 3 minutes to go, playing woefully yet fully confident we could get two goals back. Weird.

The only thing of interest in there is that Sven Goran Errikson is apparently interested. I think he could be a very good choice. Though he spends money like water and we don't have much cash. He will probably want a massive salary too....

Can't see him wanting it, but if he did come it would be a good fit. Used to working with nutbar owners too which is a bonus.

Why would Kean "forfeit" the cardiff game if he was on 6 figures for cup success?
