hope he doesn't keaning get the keaning job

(i wrote that because i love the word replacement for swear words)

Me too...

Kean was keaning kean and couldn't organise a Kean in a whorehouse. Venky's would be utterly bonkers to put Black in charge now. Next...

So Dowie was there checking on his future team(rovers) he will be assistant manager to. Shearer is very much interest in managing us.

according to Nicko, Dowie was working for Sky,

As he was before we hired INce according to Nicko and maybe again after. Nicko has beat the Shearer drum so long it's giving me a keaning headache

Getting tired of hearing that Shearer or Sherwood would get the place buzzing again

To be fair they would....for about 2 weeks.

The only thing of interest in there is that Sven Goran Errikson is apparently interested. I think he could be a very good choice. Though he spends money like water and we don't have much cash. He will probably want a massive salary too....

Can't see him wanting it, but if he did come it would be a good fit. Used to working with nutbar owners too which is a bonus.

A lot of Leicester fans don't like him because he didn't alter his tactics for a lot of games and they dropped a lot of points.....they said he didn't suit the C'ship and I think the same would happen again if we got him.

How could Nixon possibly know all those details? A complete fairytale.

Firstly, Shearer said that word for word on MOTD.

Secondly, the Sven interest may be true. His agent has touted at least two of his managers for the job put it that way.

Personally I think if Bernhard Schuster has applied we should go for him. Heart would love to see Shearer being a huge managerial success here but we need experience not another gamble.

Let's hope that the speculation about Shearer originates solely from himself.

At least he said that he hadn't been contacted by the club which comes as no surprise.

His record since retiring as a player suggests that he would be a disaster - lazy, big-headed, lacking man-management skills, not fully committed to the club but only to himself.

Not altogether dissimilar to someone else I could think of.

Let's not underestimate the amount of remedial work that is going to face the new appointee at all levels of the playing structure.

Solskjaer is my hope.

Just had a look at oddschecker, only skybet seem to be offering bets on this, maybe it's a bug in oddschecker?

Eric Black is 11/2, third favourite behind Shearer and Sherwood. Given that the obvious thing to do is not to appoint Black, i would suggest lumping on.

I am beginning to think , Venkys , Singh etc have no idea ,who the next manager wil be .

Cannot help thinking , they were hoping for a win yesterday and then confirm Black has manager (easy option ) that now

would be difficult ,even for them ....

The mind boggles at who they have in mind , if anyone ...

The owners have gone back to Zurich and tasked Shebby with appointing the new manager, I suspect that they will remain in Zurich and any new manager would go out there to have talks with them.

Shebby will sit down with senior staff over the next day or so and put together the shortlist and then approach their number 1 target. I think that at the moment they are unsure what direction they will go in. At the start of last week they were certain that they would go for a younger manager, but now with some high quality experience managers putting their names forward that thinking may have changed.

I think that Shebby was prepared to give Black a chance, but the result yesterday with the performance has surely put paid to that. The only way that I can see Black getting the job is that he somehow manages to convince Shebby/the owners that he needs an extended period of time to stamp his style onto the team, but that seems very unlikely.

The betting odds are taking down each night by most bookmakers because of newspaper reports. so if they a link to to certain manager, bookies will adjust the odds before they put them back up.

sky bet dont tho.

anyway, I think the next manager will be between the 3 S's, Sherwood, Shearer and Solskjaer.

On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the least likely, how unlikely is it, because if there's more than no chance of it happening I can see people asking for season ticket money back again. My husband was already talking about it at half time yesterday! Surely nobody, not even Black must think he deserves the job after yesterday's showing?

thanks for the update.

Do Venkys have a business in Zurich???

which senior staff is Shebby asking advise from? surely not Agnew?

according to Nicko, Shebby has ask Gerry Armstrong as a sounding board. I think GA would know about some of the managers who have applied like Schuster.

With Venky's it would be foolish to rule anything out at this stage as they have proved in the past that they are capable of making the most bizarre decisions, but at this stage I would say "unlikely".

Yes they have a big vaccine plant in Zurich and feel comfortable as that being their base.

I am told that Venky's senior adviser from India is still in the country which suggests that he will be helping Shebby.

If Gerry is involved then he will be pushing Shebby to go for Schuster, Rafa (is he is genuinely interested) or manager from Spain as this is area of expertise. He always comes across as very sensible on Sky.

GA is very sensible person with some good views on Football.

I still they will go for the managers I named early but Schuster is a good candidate for us. But just think it would be risk to appoint a foriegn manager with no experience of English football.

Interesting that Kenny Dalglish is pushing Shearer for the manager job here.

Frankly, any manager is going to be a risk. It's a case of judgement and the key idea is which manager will get the best out of this squad and quick. That really precludes giving the job to a novice. In my opinion, that leaves only a few. That is my reason for preferring Curbishly over others. I said Shearer before with an experienced team as that might work but the risk is significantly higher.

I agree wholeheartedly with your first sentence. Given the haste they dispensed with the services of such an experienced guy then they shouldn't be too long in appointing someone else equally experienced. I don't think !

Unfortunately, regardless of all the sound info that Kamy and others bring to the board, I still think Venky's will go for the cheap and easiest target in Eric Black. These people have proved time after time that they are incapable of making the right decision for the club. Don't forget, Kean resigned, he wasn't sacked and I still believe he'd be here in his post today if he hadn't walked.

You have no idea how much I want to be proved wrong.
