The owners have gone back to Zurich and tasked Shebby with appointing the new manager, I suspect that they will remain in Zurich and any new manager would go out there to have talks with them.

Shebby will sit down with senior staff over the next day or so and put together the shortlist and then approach their number 1 target. I think that at the moment they are unsure what direction they will go in. At the start of last week they were certain that they would go for a younger manager, but now with some high quality experience managers putting their names forward that thinking may have changed.

I think that Shebby was prepared to give Black a chance, but the result yesterday with the performance has surely put paid to that. The only way that I can see Black getting the job is that he somehow manages to convince Shebby/the owners that he needs an extended period of time to stamp his style onto the team, but that seems very unlikely.

Venkys have proven over the past 18 months that they're completely out of their depth as owners of the football club, so we can't rule anything out with this lot, Black in my opinion has a very good chance of getting the job because he's an 'easy/cheap option'.

Rafa would be my number 1 choice but he's not going to come here, so out of the rest it surely has to be Schuster, vast experience and would do well in my opinion, only downside is he's never worked in England.

I remember having the same discussion with they sacked Allardyce and we all know what happened then......fingers crossed they get this right.

I'd settle for any manager over Black now that I think Black will get the job.

Perhaps having someone who loves the club such as Shearer might be the best man as he'd be a protector for the fans against the idiocy of the owners. Even if he can't get the team moving, at least we'd have someone in there to help stick up for the fans and the club.

I know I sound desperate but things have shown little sign of improving so far.

I remember Hughes giving an icy stare at someone when the messed up, I also remember seeing him animated and re-organising things when it was going boobs up. I also remember Souey physically chasing Keith Gillespie down the line to get him fired up...this bunch need someone like that. Any manager who is prepared to do just that will have my 100% support.

Unfortunately, regardless of all the sound info that Kamy and others bring to the board, I still think Venky's will go for the cheap and easiest target in Eric Black. These people have proved time after time that they are incapable of making the right decision for the club. Don't forget, Kean resigned, he wasn't sacked and I still believe he'd be here in his post today if he hadn't walked.

You have no idea how much I want to be proved wrong.

Was told yesterday, that Shebby not only wants Black out but all associates of Kean out of the club,so I don't think we need to worry if Shebby is picking the manager, the biggest decision Venkys have to make let's hope and prey they don't screw it up.

I hope you're right. Would love to hear Shebby say that, rather than worrying about it for the next couple of weeks. Until anything comes to fruition, it's hard to be optimistic at all.

This didnt surprise me that Shebby wants this.

So will that be Agnew, Shaw, Black, Hendry, maybe Brunskill and Mimms.

I would keep Mimms, has he has work very well with the young keepers like Jake Kean and Usai.

It was suggest on last week Podcast that they will be changes behind the scenes like bringing in a Chairman, etc.

also someone has done a article about how well Sousa and Solksjaer did in the Europe league

I'd do that for free, believe me.

Wouldn't take much to get them fitter and more motivated. If it's true that Hanley is always down KFC then he has to be dropped until he trims up. It seems like this group of players has been cruising for far too long and they badly need shaking up. Some of them just aren't good enough and desperately need to be shown the door. We need to add players who have the right temperament and attitude o drag this lot in the right direction.

Don't think I'm posting anything ground-breaking here, but this is definitely a vestige of Kean's approach to keeping them on-side and it's one area that can be corrected quite quickly and change things for the better significantly.

But Singh's (I'll use his last name as I'm not mates with him) has come out in public and said we need to give Black time to put his stamp on the team.

Or as is likely the time has proved he is not up to the task. Past cartaker managers have at least fired the players up and given the team a temporary lift. Black has not done this.

But apparently Singh came out and said this yesterday. Which seems to indicate that Black will be hanging around for a while yet.

Has Singh said that? I thought he'd played down talk of Black getting the job full-time and just remarked it was handy to have him as caretaker?

This is Singh we're talking about, though. He just says what's convenient at the time.
