Kamy Is it true Javier Clemente has applied for the job & how likely is it he will be on the short list?. &

Is it true Geovanni Trappatoni has told sources at vital Blackburn he is interested in the gig &

How likely do you think it is Sven might make the short list?.

Kamy you should not worry about them taking their time as I believe when you have so many high profile managers applying for the job we have to make sure you get the right man and given we are on an international break no game till the 20th might as well take the time and get the right man in my only fear is they prove they have learnt nothing from their past mistakes and give Black the job after all the fannying around as I believe to get back into contention for promotion experience is vital.

i know our owners and those who run our club may not be the brightest, but surely saturday showed them that Black in any capacity is definitely not the answer, and surely they can see that Erikson is not the answer to anything but a very limited number of questions, none of which goes "Who would be suitable to work in any capacity at BRFC?"

Same here worry about the delay in getting a shortlist ready. Why Thursday??? why not Today and interview the 3 or 4 names on the shortlist over the next 2 days then name the new manager on Friday Afternoon.

Though I am surprised at the delay - could it not be conceivable that they are working in the back ground with agents to work out what exactly their client would want in terms of contract, when they would be available - and if already contracted how much to release them from their current club.

IF they are doing this - I would find it sensible - as when they draw up their short list it would hopefully mean that any major hurdles have already been investigated (incl salary) and the short list can be realistic in terms of what we can afford - as well as who best meets what other criteria they have set.

Having said all that - they have already had a week to all the preparatory work - in which case maybe somebody came up last minute.

An outstanding list of candidates have applied so I'm not surprised they are taking their time. The shortlist has to be Trappatoni, hitzfield, Schuster and OGS. They are by far the best candidates and I'd be confident they'd all get us promoted and keep us in the premiership. They'd also be big enough names to bring the fans back.

For me, it has to be trappatoni. Top, top manager. Don't care about his age.

Shebby mentioned the new manager must fit into their passing philosophy or something like that...

I am guessing they are taking their time because they probably don't know what to do and who is the best candidate, don't blame them.

Now I never said any Swedish gentlemen met the owners but he did have an expensive dinner with three gentlemen, one of whom is of Scottish heritage and currently (possibly temporarily) employed by the club. No idea who the exotic others were.

Well, I say it was an expensive dinner, but I really have no idea how expensive it is at Stanley House. He's not staying there now. I expect he's probably been to been to sort out a tenancy with Twin Valley homes and to buy some pans.

Seriously, there might be nothing in it but it all seems a bit odd given the timing of their gathering. Kamy's idea of some sort of experienced person to hold Eric's hand might have some mileage though.

Mr Fleming, I am very well, thank you. I trust you and yours are thriving?

Scottish heritage, not Irish then, Gerry Armstrong is supposed to be assisting Shebby. Maybe more than one assistant/advisor possibility of course.

The emphasis should be on a winning philosophy first and foremost. If we're not careful we'll pass our way into oblivion.

If they take their time and appoint that Swedish guy I'll be very unimpressed too. Am i the only one who is totally against his having anything to do with Rovers? I'm prepared to accept that it might be just me with an irrational loathing but his Well! is as annoying as any of Kean's liplicking etc

For what it's worth, a friend of mine, Bolton supporter, reckons their first two choices are OGS & Freedman, with Robinson also well in the reckoning and they will appoint within days.

If true and it happens, Rovers are a big loser.

Now understand they've already spoken with at least one candidate already !

Totally agree, Gumboots. And his ability to just walk into jobs after mulitple sackings/'mutual agreements' is outrageous. If any of us mere mortals got the sack, we'd be hard pushed to find any meaningful work, never mind just waltz into another job on the same pay or similar, not to mention the pay out when you eventually leave that position. Sven must be seriously loaded by now.

Didn't realise everybody was such experts on Norweigan football, I can honestly say I've never seen Ole Gunar Solkjaer manage a single game so any opinion on him as a manager would be total guess work. I don't really know who we should go, the only options that appeal to me are some of the more ridicolous ones who probably wouldn't be interested in the job anyway. Still it's the perfect time to take the reigns here, I imagine the fans are going to be fully behind whoever we appoint as manager after the last one.

Part of me hopes the new manager has some sort of Rovers connection, but maybe that's romanticising things too much and the wise option would be to pick the best applicant for the job regardless of their background.

I know i saw that in the LT where it said Venkys want a manager that shares their philosophy for passing football!!! I wanted to chuck up.These cretins know nothing about football and want a manager that shares their passion for passing football.

I would actually say that if we get a manager who shares any of their passions we are feckin doomed.!!

It is becoming increasingly obvious that until they exit the Club we are going absolutely nowhere other than complete ruin.

So in other words, any manager chosen by venkys is by definition not good enough?

This is Venky's one LAST chance to get the fans back on their side and to show their true intent for the club.......I am saving any lashing out until the appointment is made.

Am I excited about some of the names (Shearer, OGS, Schuster etc) YES....Am I concerned about some of the names being mentioned (Judan Ali, Eric Black, Stuart McCall) YES.....lets just see what happens because at least Singh is heading the search for a new manager this time rather than Desai!!!!

What amazes me is that we all wanted Coco gone, and now we couldn't be more divided on who to replace him! For me Black is no option at all, and Agnew & Shaw should follow him to the DWP. OGS is interesting, Shearer could be interesting, but there isn't one outstanding candidate! Frustrated of Clitheroe!
