typical, is this of certain fans. all cos you dont get your choice as manager. Im walking away.

You are suppose to support your club!!!

I personally think Karl Robinson will make a top manager. Hopefully if he gets the job at Rovers he do what Hughes did.

But who knows, The owners might change their minds and go for an experience manager. only time will tell

Always wary of appointing someone who was part of a previous disaster at the club. Robinson will have had his input at the time. Let's be honest, if they do appoint someone against that criteria it will be for one reason and one reason only, ££££££.

chaddy nothing to do with that, they have said there have been some top applicants and yet they will ignore that and go for cheapest as possible, i dont like being lied to which for me they have. Do you really beleive this whole up and coming keans, they just want someone who will be gratefull for a job and wont cost them much, its bullshit, if they had any real ambition then they would be looking at the likes of ogs, schuster, mccarthy etc, you may be happy to sit there lapping up whatever they offer but im not, karl robinson hasnt achieved a thing at mk dons, what makes you think he is destined for big things? because know-nothings say so? he is exactly what we shouldnt be looking at, we need experience not someone whose only job has been in league 1 for the passed few seasons, he could very easily be the next paul ince, dickov isnt even worth mentioning!!!

i wont give a chance to a manager i dont want. Gumboots, we have been led up the garden path again, all these false promises of exciting names and proven managers was all a red herring whereas in reality they were always planning to go cheap, most of us have already renewed our season tickets now and they know this, they are a bunch of chancers and i wont spend another penny after i have paid of my season ticket

then goodbye!!!!

I know he was brought to the club by Ince, but wasn't he around for most of Allardyce's reign? Allardyce is usually pretty fussy about his backroom staff so that would be a decent endorsement.

Anyway, it's just a total guess based on some criteria posted on Twitter, probably won't even happen!

Roverandout and Gumboots - time to say it like it is. Who do you want as manager?

Answer I don't know. I just want someone who is not going to make us feel let down at the start of his reign, because where else is there to go if it doesn't work out. Fact is, if you don't say you have been overwhelmed by the calibre of people expressing an interest in the job, and you then appoint a robinson type then there's no real problem, but talking about the impressive number of people and the high quality of candidates and then choosing a relatively cheap option who has done little to nothing in his career so far, is not going to pull crowds together or entice people who are still staying away to come back to ewood. It's about perceptions and they will be perceived as failing to deliver yet again. It will open them up to even more criticism of their ownership if Bolton appoint OGS or some other more exciting manager. It might be that OGS fails there and a Robinson type manager succeeds here, but that will happen a fair way down the line and we need fans now. we need to feel just a bit better about our club now. we need to feel anticipation at the thought of going to ewood again and for the majority of fans it won't happen if they appoint a no name who also lacks any kind of experience of managing a club like ours.

klc, my choice would schuster, trappatoni or mick mccarthy!!!

McCarthy yes.

Schuster is a risk appointment cos of no experience in English or might struggle with the English language.

Trappatoni. Very negative tactics, and weird team selection. PLus not quick enough of changing Tactics during games with Ireland during the Euros.

Robinson was first team coach under Ince and Sam Allardyce. when he left to go back to MK dons as number 2 to Ince, when then got SK as first team coach.

Maybe any of the "experienced" names that have been banded around would only take the job on their own terms. Ie having sole responsibility in all football matters.

" Not on your life" say Venkyscum.

So the end result is a candidate who has relative or no experience at this level, and as he is trying to make his mark, will accept all the owners stipulations.

No loss of face for Venkys by being turned down by a top name after all.

Haha, sorry. If you're confident of using the free bet wisely you could just put more money on than I did....

I used my free bet when I got 40/1 on Kean going lol

Not sure i agree with you entirely, think the majority will get behind the new manager provided he gets the team working hard, winning games and is occasionally honest about when we are crap and if he was keaned when pulled over...

But of course a big name that achieves these things will create a larger buzz in the short-term, on that i can agree.

yes klc they have

chaddy doesnt matter who he coached for etc, he was just that, a coach, his managerial reign leaves a lot to be desired, we dont need another ince, kean, kidd type, we need proven, finished article, its clear this criteria is bullshit and they just want the cheapest as possible, a blindman can see that.

Purely hypothetical - said experienced manager is fine with the club structure but wants a five year contract on 4 million pounds per year (plus bonus if he actually achieves anything). Still a good option for Blackburn?

Not saying most wouldn't want to support whoever it was, but just feel there will be an enormous feeling of being cheated yet again if it's the cheap option after the talk of big names. As Roverandout says, we've been misled and lied to so many times and this is the first chance the owners have had to show us they are trying to show they value fans and want to get back as many as possible and I think apppointing a lesser name manager would show they really haven't listened or learnt anything.
