mhead Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Two years ago I saw Simon twice playing for Montenegro and on the 1st occasion with his centre-forward mate he kept a complete Bulgaria National side fully occupied and shitless everytime they got the ball. The energy and movement were very impressive and when we signed him I thought we had a great player for the 'out' ball who would keep defences busy and bring in other players. Its a scandal (Kalinic,Petrovic too) that we have not capitalised on his ball skills....these guys are artists not 'hoof' merchants.

Rover_Shaun Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Kalinic and Petrovic sure were artists, if you put p*ss in front of it
mhead Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 We differ then. And Grabbi was an artist as well. Whether they fitted in to the "English" style is at issue plus whether they were used properly as well. And Jordan Rhodes is already going the same way....and I think its the fault of unsophisticated management !
Lie_still_Rover Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Are we going to see Simon in the squad for tomorrow then? Really hope so
Stuart Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Doubt it. Not tomorrow. I expect Black to be setting them up for tomorrow's match.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 According to the official website he's included in the squad.....surely that means in the squad of 18? Otherwise I think it would have just said he has travelled with the squad.....hopefully it does mean that and he gets a run out.
roversfan99 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 That means he is part of the group of players available to choose from I think. I would think Kean, Orr, Givet, Rochina, Formica, Rosado, Gomes and Bruno will all travel too.
The Rover of Finland Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Can they afford to play him. I remember the story about 50K bonus when featuring. Just hard to believe it.

To think he even turned down those players who might have saved us is just pure insanity
John Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Thought he looked OK, bit sluggish but to be expected. Not afraid to take people on.
CapeTownRover Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Think Simon has a big part to play this season, and its good that Berg has already noticed that he is a really good player. I think, that given a consistent run in the team, that he will be one of the players who will help us with our push for promotion
Hekla Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 A player like Vukcevic is too good for this league, when the fitness levels improve at Rovers after two years of this being non-existent, we will see him excel and others like Formica and Rochina.
Backroom DE. Posted November 11, 2012 Backroom Posted November 11, 2012 I do wonder why Simon has opted to stay here sometimes. As an international calibre player for a fairly decent nation he surely must have had interest from elsewhere?

JAL Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 He's probably on huge wages? Wonder if he'll be touted about in january because of his wages.
Backroom DE. Posted November 11, 2012 Backroom Posted November 11, 2012 He's probably on huge wages? Considering he was signed by Venky's during the austerity era last season I doubt it. Maybe a big appearance fee but I'd be stunned if the same people who bought Goodwillie, Yakubu and Petrovic shelled out massive wages for Vukcevic.
Backroom Tom Posted November 11, 2012 Backroom Posted November 11, 2012 I noticed that during half time he was kicking a ball around himself whilst Pedersen messed around with Jake Kean and two other subs warmed up together There was reports of an attitude problem, wonder if he speaks English
Blue n White Rover Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Him and Pedersen were sharing a laugh and a joke at HT too. Both taking free-kicks at each other and crossing balls into each other.
Amo Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 The guy's a class act. Should've been playing ages ago but for some reason neither Kean nor Black knew he even existed. Funny the difference a new manager can make.

Both taking free-kicks at each other and crossing balls into each other. Bet you missed that. I did sorry Makes me feel better as I felt a bit bad for the lad at one stage thinking he was a bit excluded He has to play his class was obvious to anyone watching yesterday I could watch that turn of pace on the halfway line over and over

We desperately need pace in our team and these 2 look the quickest along with the twins.
RoyRover Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 He looked like the type of player I thought he would be when we signed him in the first place and what makes him a key player for a very good Montenegrin side. Technically good, inventive, good touch, good vision. I'm glad that he's getting game time under Berg.
