I am pretty sure he has ruled Shearer out.

I have just read the LT article again from Saturday and it says :

The Lancashire Telegraph understands the club want to land a high-profile name who has already had a taste of English football, although managerial experience at the top level is not a necessity.

Efforts to bring Sherwood to Ewood have not yet been given up on, while a few good results in the next few weeks could yet bring Molde boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back into the frame.

No offence to Billy but he is hardly a high profile name !

I think it will be weeks before a decision is made.

I find the link to OGS interesting and hopeful. Personally I think that Glen knows who the next manager is - he has already said that a contract is on offer and just waiting to be signed. Also, allegedly OGS' move to Villa fell down because they leaked it to the press - Shebby and the ITK's have been remarkably quiet - which agan may point towards OGS. The one question mark - is Shebby telling a fan that there will be an appointment on Wednesday - which wouldn't fit in with previous statements about OGS.

I know that there has been no speculation on this guy, but the more I think about Glen Hoddle, the more it makes sense. Played passing football with England. Didn't get fired from England for football reasons. Got promotion with Swindon from this division. Big name. Tottenham link for Shebby. Just enough "baggage" that the Rovers job would be realistic for such a big name. Bring in someone as assistant to help with the sports science stuff. Easy. Although not exactly the young option, he's hardly past it.

Haven't seen any extensive reasons why not Hoddle on these pages. The only real "against" is his time at Wolves whilch I think is outweighed by everything else. Would he move up north for it though?

I think Hoodle would be a good choice, behind OGS, Curbishley, McCarthy and Holloway.

Kean wants to bring in close pal, and former Rovers player, Billy McKinlay as his assistant after ex-Arsenal midfielder Jensen’s nine-month stay ended this week

If this happens then i think this proves who is running the club

If true I would start foaming at the mouth.

OGS would be an excellent choice.

Surely the only thing that makes any sense of the OGS theory, is that no statement would be released until after the season has finished in Norway. He did state that he would be there for the rest of the season. He did not say anything regarding after the season had finished.

That fact is the slim hope that I am clinging to.

Would you really take Singh at his word? I wouldn't buy a used car off of him

I also don't take people who said "Shebby said to me ..." at their word either. Whilst Shebby has said some cringeworthy stuff, the amount of words put into his mouth by people and then believed by others is amazing.

Hoddle has always been a favourite of mine , i think he's the best coach England has ever produced ok he bombed at Wolves but previous to that he did a good job at every club

Singh is an idiot, his outburst at the fans meeting was amateurish at best, everyone pinning hopes on this man are going to be disappointed.

Wake up people FFS

A personal favourite of mine, apart from his stupid religious comments on a purely football level i think he's good and would be perfect for the job over and above a lot of the candidates. Sadly i doubt he's applied and they probably wouldn't look twice at someone who's actually well qualified for the job.

Hoddle, will never move North! We have had enough of managers living in Surrey to last us a lifetime!!

At the very least kean, would still be here had it not been for Shebby. I'm reserving judgement until I see who the manager is.

Singh is all we have at the moment. He went all out for Rhodes and got him, was gunning for Kean and got shut so I'm all for giving the guy a chance.

Needs to watch what he says and move on from Sherwood imo.

Not at all, Derek Shaw is the only man to have ever run a football club. Don't understand why so many people are happy to wait around whilst he dithers and effectively cuts our chances of promotion?

Fact?

Shebby arrived and suddenly a lack of bull coming from keans mouth.. A points target set and not met and he resigns, and he didn't after we got relegated. Coincidence? Don't believe in them. He needs to hire someone decent for me to get backing so holding fire until then.

All rovers fans want this.

Pathetic its been 3 weeks since the search begin.

Looks like Dougie Freedman is turnng down the Bolton job, to stay at Palace and sign a new contract there.
