Why not just have our entire 1995 title winning side on the touchline that should lift the spirits and make the fans forget we're owned and ultimately run by a bunch of clueless idiots and get the feel good factor back at Ewood park.

They would be better on the pitch, they know how to get a result

surprised Robbie Savage hasnt been linked

Was at "an evening with" thing with Robbie Savage at the Hordens few years ago and he said he wasn't interested in management but fancied going into punditry which he subsequently has done.

Fantastic bloke imo. Basically had to fund his move to Rovers himself by agreeing to a wage cut after we went back on our word to him that we'd make an offer to Birmingham that was acceptable to them and he'd already burnt his bridges with them by forcing a move.

If by chance it is Mckinlay, and I don't think it will be, that will be me finished with Rovers, possibly for good.

I have zero respect for the bloke following his chequered last 12/18 months with Rovers as a 'player'.

He and Hendry would make a fine pair !

His record in this league is brilliant. And on his most recent outing he kept Wolves in the league for two PL seasons and was harshly sacked in the third when he may well have kept them up again.

Two promotions in eight attempts is not brilliant. You only have to read Roy Keane's book to see how rank amateurish McCarthy is.

I remember anything untoward from "The Fish." Certainly nothing to warrant you fin-ishing association with the club.

Billy Mckinlay 8/15

Ian Holloway 7/2

Tim Sherwood 5/1

Alan Shearer 8/1

Next 4 all 20/1

Worrying pattern

Why do people keep quoting the flaming odds. Sherwood was 1/5 at points last week.

Had there been a Betfair market on this you could have made a packet.

I wouldn't quite be finished with Rovers and I'd give him a chance initially but otherwise I agree with what you say above.

McKinlay is one of only a few runoured appointments I'd be really really disappointed about.

Hope Andy Cryer is right when he says we don't need to worry about it.

If they are considering Mckinlay it's probably because they want someone who will work with the coaching team already here, as well as being a cheap puppet. We all know who'll be pushing his name forward. Someone like Shearer may well get out on the training pitch like Dalglish & Souness used to and hopefully shake things up a bit.

Souness allegedly overheard him telling Craig Short "Don't worry about being injured - Just pretend to be injured and pick up your wages like I do"

And promptly bombed him out vof the Club

Had no idea about that, I even thought that he left prior to Souness. Slippery little bugger.

"He was released without charge a few hours later and there will be no further action against him" -so what's the issue.

I was going to say that as well hardly, not a Hendry fan but there's no point having a justice system if you're just going to presume guilt every time the police make an arrest.

The police don't muck about with domestic violence anymore, this isn't the 70s where they could turn up to a house with a blooded and beaten women but couldn't do anything because the victim said she'd walked into a door; nowadays they don't need the victim's consent to press charges.

Clearly there was no evidence and it was probably nothing more than heated argument that concerned the noisy neighbours into calling the fuzz.

He was also no stranger to a few sherberts round town regularly, he'd fit right in!

There must have been an issue for him to be arrested in the first place. Often in domestic abuse cases, the other party does not always go through with a complaint. So suspect gets released.

Thought it was Jeff Kenna he told that to?

Or was it him and Kenna were spotting laughing and joking down the Bolton Road after we'd lost a game.
