  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

Sky Sports are saying Fulham turned down an approach from Blackburn for permission to speak to Billy McKinlay.

If that is true then, rather than breathe a sigh of relief, it will only make me more worried about the judgment of Singh etc. Billy McKinlay being seen as a serious candidate to get Rovers promoted? I think I would have more confidence in Black - and that's saying something.

seroius ,you thought it would have been on here already.

breath slow and learn off unkle abs....chilllllllll

Oh, I'm quite chill over here ABBEY, thanks!

I literally don't have time to be genuinely bothered by that post. Just felt it may have stemmed from a lack of attention towards Topman and thought I'd help the little keaner feel the love that is evidently so craved.

So we have approached Fulham to speak to Mckinlay and it has been refused which probably means we are no nearer to appointing a manager than what we were 2 weeks ago.

It also means the chances of appointing the likes of Shearer or Holloway are zero.

Am I to take it that Kean and McKinlay being best mates is just a coincidence?

If McKinlay gets appointed I won't be held responsible for my reaction. It will just be Kean under a different name.

These guys are just hopeless by the way. Three weeks, and McKinlay is identified as the best available man. Crap. Everyone knows he'll just be Singh's puppet.

Cripes.. McKinley seems to be popping up to often atm.. really really don't want him near Rovers.. But would not suprise me and without a doubt would have to of been a recommendation from Shaw/Agnew with Shebby probably not knowing about the links to Kean.. Shebby is a plonker of the highest order but he would never accept a Kean monkey.

ffs I would take allot of the list being mentioned even Keane who I can't stand as a person over him

I'd rather have these two than Shearer and Newell...

Gumboots isn't gonna like that.

The only thing I'm certain of is that NO appointment will unite the fans. There will always be someone who will complain about the manager whomever we end up with.

Now that Kean is gone we simply have to get behind the next manager - even in the unlikely event it's Black.

Personally I'd prefer Holloway - who incredibly some don't want/rate - however Shearer would be a step up from Kean/Black whichever way we look at it.

It's true that there's no outstanding candidate, due to our owners and what league we play in, but I'm gonna presume the vast majority will get behind most candidates anyway.....with the possible exceptions for some of Hendry, Black and McKinlay.

I also completely understand why some, including myself, don't have Holloway high up on their wish list.....it's because we've just gone almost two years with an unorganised defence and we want a manager who will try and rectify this.

And if we did get promoted under him, most Prem managers will know from his season with Blackpool what kind of system he plays and how best to combat it.......as he proved last time he was too stubborn to change his tactics so we'd soon play like they did in the 2nd half of the season, or Swansea last season, and pass it round a lot without creating many chances.....but Swansea's defence was very organised and was the main reason they stayed up imo from watching a lot of their games with my Swansea housemate at the time.......we wouldn't be so defensively organised which I'm pretty fed up of in all honesty.

I don't want Shearer or Keane or McKinlay but if someone offered me the chance a month ago to swap them for Kean then I would have bitten their hands off and that will be my main comfort if we don't start picking up points.

If we can't get McKinlay then the chances of us getting any manager crap or not is slim to none. Just hurry up and give the job to Black and then lie to say how good he is and how proven he has become. Here I'll write the headline for the papers, save them a job "Shebby Singh's Blacks Praises"

I have no idea about McKinley's abilities as a potential manager, but it is well known that he is a very very close friend of Kean. That in itself will just cause massive problems again.

Does Shebby know this ?

Seriously, what are they thinking ? Is this the manager they want to get in by Wednesday ?

I mentioned this last night, but yesterday at work I spoke with Gerry Armstrong who's been working with Shebby.... McKinley was ALWAYS third choice... Shearer has NEVER been considered..

Sherwood thing is now finished, and Shebby won't wait till December to speak to OGS... Expect McKinley to kick up a fuss and demand to speak to Rovers.....he WILL be our new man.. Depressinh

Makes me think that a certain ex manager has been on the phone to previous employer.

I wonder if Shebby Singh is aware of the close friendship Mckinley has with Kean.

Permission refused to speak with Mckinlay.

The question is, why do they think Billy McKinlay would be a good manager ?

Is it a recommendation from former Fulham players Etuhu or Murphy ? Or is McKinlay's old pal Kean still having an influence at the club ?

Either way, it's obvious Singh is now getting desperate in his search for a manager and that all the so-called "favourites" are now out of the picture.

Would add that I still think we'll end up with Black, my original forecast the day after Kean departed.
