Are we sure McKinlay has been approcahed about the manager's position and not a coaching role under a different manager? *pray*

It's for the managers role

Is there any confirmation on who's man Mckinlay's is? Shebby's or Shaw's? If it's Shebby's then dear oh deary me.

It's definitely deary me then

Guess who was approached next after Fulham turned down our approach for McKinley?

Anyone heard of Graham Fenton? He'll be taking charge on Wednesday. News from Ewood Park's Finest.

If they keep going they might get around to someone we actually like ! What's Keeley up to these days :)

Mckinlay is apparently one of 3 Rovers want to speak to before appointing a manager. They also want to speak to Holloway and one other.

Source: ESPN

So Rovers arent approaching these people but asking their clubs if they can speak with them. Then make their mind up to which on they go for

For those who bought season tickets straight after Kean resigned more fool you. Holding out could have put pressure on the dipsticks in charge to get a manager in faster than they have.

Now you have a season ticket and we may well have an appalling manager given the job. What a waste of money. Personally I won't spend a penny on a team that bends its supporters over a table and pounds them senseless, then gives them hope they have changed only to do it again.

I re-bought my season ticket because it was Kean's persona, Kean's arrogance that drove me away. If we employed Avram Grant I would be furious but I still wouldn't actually hate the individual enough to stop going.

If they did give the job to McKinlay there has to be clear evidence that Kean / JA have no involvement whatsoever in all of this. Of all of the managers linked it's just too odd that another Fulham coach who has never managed but worked alongside Kean should get the job.

Den - maybe that answers your point above.

I'm baffled.

Shearer is wanted by some rovers fans as manager because he was a good player and Mckinley isn't wanted by anyone at all, because he was a poor player?

Its the Kean connection. Holloway wasn't a legendary player was he and he is the favourite on here. McKinlays exit from the club was not good either.

Don't think this is quite true, People are appeased slightly by Shearer, Newel and Dowie as a package, and dissapointed because of McKinley's apparent antics at Rovers towards the end and his friendship with Kean

No problem, just thinking outside the box in case that women of world footballing knowledge in Pune has been taking advice from well renowned footballing authorities in the game like Mrs Kean

Can just imagine that in depth debate between Shebby, Balaji, The Daydreamer and Mr & Mrs Dimwit in Pune. They will have spent hours and hours dissecting the managerial career of McKinlay, all his stats, what type of football his teams play, coaching methods , fitness etc etc until the silence is broken with those immortal words ''who the feck is he ??''

The club has hit an all time low if this happens. Shebby Sh1te saying how good the quality of applicants was, some great names in the game and we now sit here contemplating the internationally famous ''Billy McKinlay''. Well you have really delivered here Shebby lad , you tool.Still at least you can keep your initials on your training kit and carry on with your FIFA 2013.

BY the way what is it with bloody Fulham? What part do Murphy /Etuhu have in this and is Murphy on a promise to commence his own managerial carreer as part of all this cosiness??

Den, whilst I take your point, I think the particular anger about this potential appointment is because of McKinlay's links to Kean via Fulham. There is also the possibility of a link to SEM/Anderson and I wouldn't be at all surprised if our owners are still ready to listen to Uncle Jerome's ("football people") advice about good up and coming managers.

Personally I would rather see Shearer in post than McKinlay due to the feeling of a 'fresh start' - free of Kean, SEM, Anderson etc. Until that is delivered I don't feel remotely as though this is currently 'my club'.

An ESPN source close to the recruitment process said: "Blackburn have contacted a couple of clubs. "They are hoping to speak with Billy McKinlay and also to Ian Holloway, and posssibily(sic) a third candidate.

Slightly more encouraging. Third candidate not currently at a club then = McCarthy, Coyle or Shearer?

Could N Ireland's 1-1 draw with Portugal have swung Shabby towards McKinley?

By far no ones first choice, but if people in the game have been consulted and this is the opinion drawn then so be it. The last thing we need now are people releasing statements saying fans are up in arms, we will start to look worse than Newcastle fans. We know didly squat about McKinley's ability to manage a team.

No, surely its because he's Keans best mate and a SEM guy? McKinley would be Kean 2.

But I wouldnt really want Shearer either though...

I want Holloway - PLEASE Shebby!!

This "in before Wednesday" talk has to be a load of tosh. We sound even further away from an appointment than we did a week ago - if that's possible.

I'm baffled.

To be fair Den he's Steve Kean's best mate and wasn't the clubs greatest ever player. Not saying I want Shearer BTW.

If this is the way they have got about it then they are absolute fools. You don't approach 3 clubs for damn permission, amateur hour again.

Billy 'pretend to be injured' Mckinlay, Steve Kean's best mate, no managerial experience, and we are serious in making him our manager.

Didn't know him as a player as I wasn't following Rovers back then but by the sounds of it he's another Billy Bullsh!tter and that's the last thing we need after Kean. I'm guessing he's a yes man as well hence the interest I can't see any other redeeming features in the guy.
