The Shebster is seemingly aware of supporters feelings towards Billy, it appears as though he doesn't care though because it is based upon the advice of real 'football people'. That phrase is doing my head in now. When have fans of a club not been 'football people'?

I would be interested to know who those 'REAL FOOTBALLING PEOPLE' are.

Some people said I was talking rubbish and said let's judge Shebby when he tries to get somebody. Well, it happened and he was after a puppet after all. Feel free to disagree though.

I disagree and you still are talking rubbish..

1) No-one has been appointed yet. Let's wait and see what happens.

2) There's no evidence McKinlay is Singh's choice.

3) Even if reports of Fulham being approached for McKinlay are true, we've supposedly been rebuffed. Therefore in that respect he'd be no nearer than Sherwood.

4) Andy Neild said it wasn't McKinlay. That said if he's saying it's not Shearer either I'm not sure who he's claiming his "mystery candidate" is.

the comparisons between mckinley and shearer are not even close on one hand you have a club legend, one of the best to ever grace ewood park who fired us to the title and has said a number of times that blackburn is special to him!He would not be a yes man and would not take any kean from venkys or shebby plus I think he would be man enough to walk and admit it was not working the opposite of kean basically!

Mckinley was an average player who pretended to be inured and picked up his wage (great start) he would massivley be a yes man because who else will give him a go in managment?based on his attitude as a player he would sit in the job whatever collecting a pay check just like kean plus he is keans best mate and an sem client could it get any worse?

For the record I am not saying shearer is the person I want that is holloway but of all the ex players shearer would be my pick!!

I'm baffled.

Shearer is wanted by some rovers fans as manager because he was a good player and Mckinley isn't wanted by anyone at all, because he was a poor player?

Good point den. For me it's a gut reaction thing. The spine tingling anticipation of seeing Shearer stood on the touchline and the stomach churning hope that he might be a revelation.

No such sense of anticipation about the potential appointment of McKinlay. Plus the players might think "Billy who?"

No real logic to it I know. I would liken it to say when Newcastle appointed Keegan many years ago, as opposed to them appointing a low profile relatively anonymous former player - Mick Martin say.

Comment about Holloway on another Rovers forum -

"I coached part of the Argyle youth set up in Plymouth when Ian was in charge down here. He really set the place alight and no stone was left unturned.

Even the folks in the office had to get rid of the various Man utd, Liverpool, etc coffee cups. Ian said everyone who worked at Argyle had to have Argyle cups to drink from and we all had to believe we could reach the premier league.

Even the youth set up was changed to reflect the style of football he believed in and therefore wanted to produce. After a very short space of time his influence was felt in every corner of the club and it was infectious."

2 more weeks!

We'll probably be too far out of the playoffs/promotion places for any new manager to get us up.

How the heck do this lot run a global business.

How anyone can consider McKinlay a good candidate I don't know. If Burnley get Mick Mccarthy and we get McKinlay, I can seriously see them finishing well above us in the league.

What a breath of fresh air that would be, would probably ruffle to many feathers at Rovers don't think some people will take too kindly to Holloway trying to grab their I love Stevie and Tom Finney is god mugs away from them

It's a funny one. I can see why McKinley isn't wanted by some but as I posted last week he is very well regarded at Fulham. I wonder if he could make the step up. He has the advantage of not coming from within the club so his relationship will not be the same as Keans was.
