If Billy Mckinlay is the best the Rovers have from their long list of applicants then some of the others on the list must be total rubbish or is this a Shebby Singh JOKE I am in despair.

Our club will never move forward whilst there are individuals and factions within the club all with their own agendas.

This situation, IMO, has pretty much prevailed since Venky's bought the club and is tantamount to self-destruction.

IMO, all the politicking over a new manager is a feckin disgrace and no credible candidate would even want to touch us with a sh1tty stick unless there were huge changes which you just can't see happening.

Who is David Lowe?

The owners though, have no special plans to finally get the fans back on their side.

"I think no other club has invested as much in the Championship, as we have. We are nobody to win them (the fans) back, but results will help us move forward," he concluded.

Is David Lowe the one involved in the academy at Brockhall?

What may be getting blown out of proportion - it is only rumoured he wanted to "talk" to McKinley - not offer him the job on the spot. Having said all that - it is worrying that McKinley even managed to get on a short list of supposed "top quality" applicants.

It's more than a rumour. It's pretty obvious to me that if Fulham and rovers can agree compensation, McKinley will be here.

Head of Youth coaching?

Yeah that must be who I'm thinking of , it could be the journalist mis - heard tash's mumbling and he meant Derek Shaw (David Lowe).

Would seem strange head of Youth coaching was involved in the first team manager's search wouldn't it? maybe not in Venkyworld

cant beleive they have taken 4 weeks to find the 'right manager' and this is the best they can do, just proves it was bullshit about all these so called big names in for the job, more wool being pulled over the eyes of the fans. As far as supporters are concerned any faith, trust or belief the supporters had for singh will be gone if this appointment goes ahead.

It's not that clear cut. Talks might be held and be unsatisfactory to either party.

Although if a compensation figure is agreed it would tend to underline our determination to get him. Or simply reflect the fact he is a lot cheaper than Sherwood.

If they are involving Lowe, which would be feckin strange, they are possibly relying on him to provide candidates (or a coach) who is good with younger players.

If you appoint yet another managerial rookie Venky's then you are simply beyond stupid.

Well you do have to wonder - they complain about falling attendances - and then are considering giving the job to a man who realistically won't attract back the fans.

The only hope - they started this rumour - so when they unveil Shearer on Wednesday his lack of experience is quickly forgotten and he is universally accepted by a fan based just relieved it isn't McKinley

"Globally too, owning Blackburn has had a wonderful impact and I thank Balaji Rao as well as Anuradha Desai for their passion to buy the club. We have not extracted any profits from the club, but it has helped us in other ways. Places as far away as Vietnam now link the name of Venky’s with Blackburn and it helps us in the business sense. Plus the name we have earned since owning Blackburn Rovers, we would have otherwise not have received in 50 years,”

That's what it's aaaaaaaaall about.

I've no idea whether that Reg of the Rovers character has any accurate info or is just talking out of his backside.

But interesting he claims Sherwood is all sat there with his bags packed ready to leave as soon as we pay Spurs the requisite compensation.

I was told the same tale on Saturday night , also told McKinlay had applied for the Bolton job ...Not a mention of the rovers job !

Time will tell.

please billy stay away, take some advice of your mate kean, who i am sure has had his say, best for all concerned if you stay in the backwaters of the fulham backroom team.

Its fast approaching the point where many of us say that until these idiots from Pune have left the club we'll not be going down. Nobody was more relieved than I when **** left the club, but despite us all agreeing that anyone would be better than **** its quickly becoming a farce.

We’re still very much onside, but if they appoint Billy McKinley its going to be hard to support that decision in the long term.

from the rao article

He stated, “4-to-5% of people are never satisfied

is he taking the kean?

Funny when I read that whole paragraph regarding fans coming back , it was almost as if it was coming direct from our director of self preservation's mouth

Well he will be the only keaning one, I for one did'nt rush out and buy a season ticket after Kean WALKED because I knew this shower of morons would Kean this up beyond belief.

Now it seems we are going to have to endure another non experienced scottish coach spouting claptrap about the amount of times we got the ball in the oppositions 6 yard box whilst trying to lick his eyebrow with his wandering tongue.

Give me an experienced manager or someone who will unite the fans enough to boost the team, not someone who still has ties with the man that we struggled to get shut of for 2 years who basically got all the guys jobs who are trying to find us a new manager.

I can actually see how this concept might seem attractive to them. I mean, Mourinho, AVB, Rodgers, Guardiola, OGS etc.... have all risen from coaching positions to become good to exceptional managers. To the novice Venky's psyche there is probably a pattern emerging. Sadly, for every success story there are twice (minimum) as many failures. On the surface of it they probably think they're on to a winner. Maybe they'll get lucky and unearth a real worldie. But in more likely, they'll appoint a dud and the club will ebb away into obscurity or even worse, financial ruin.

Venkatash - "There were some early contenders, but it was not possible to get through to them.” Couple that with the fact that Fulham have agreed to allow rovers to talk to McKinlay and it looks highly likely. I guess that there's always the chance McKinley could turn us down after talking to the Raos, but most clubs would know that their man wanted to join before approaching his club.

They haven't. Yet. And I hope it remains that way.

What's your view on McKinlay? You haven't said other than I gather you think he's no worse an option than Shearer.

They have accepted that McKinley can talk to rovers. The proviso is that they sort compo out first.

Also, for people wondering how McKinleys name has come to the ears of Shebby Singh - well he could well have been one of the people who applied for the job.
