  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

"Globally too, owning Blackburn has had a wonderful impact and I thank Balaji Rao as well as Anuradha Desai for their passion to buy the club. We have not extracted any profits from the club, but it has helped us in other ways. Places as far away as Vietnam now link the name of Venky’s with Blackburn and it helps us in the business sense. Plus the name we have earned since owning Blackburn Rovers, we would have otherwise not have received in 50 years,”

That's what it's aaaaaaaaall about.

Who does have confidence in the current regime not to make a balls up of this??.............

With some of the managers who would be quite happy to take the reigns at Ewood, only a complete and utter idiot could screw this up.

And yet it's looking like there's a good chance we might get a no experience, no name manager.

I really hope there has been a rethink.

Bloomin 'eck Rev, I've said they turned us down, .... but they're obviously prepared to let him come here, as opposed to other clubs who simply refuse the approach because they don't want to lose their man!

It's merely a question of money. If you approached the Glazers with enough liquid cash to completely erase United's debt I bet they'd give serious consideration to allowing someone to talk to Ferguson.

Likiewise there will be a figure at which Levy will allow us to speak to Sherwood. We just haven't reached it.

As for the bit in bold, we don't know what price Fulham have put on McKinlay's head. They might say they're content to let him go then slap a completely unrealistic bounty on his head to stop it from happening. Maybe that's merely wishful thinking on my part but they could.

Whatever the relevant figure is, I hope we're deterred from paying it in McKinlay's case.

I have it on good authority that Fulham want five pairs of P.E. shorts and a T-shirt.

Oh my god! I saw a link for Mckinley on newsnow and thought it was a joke...nuff said!

The only choices which could be worse = Hendry, Murphy, Black or the return of Kean....

Why not just pick the first person they find on the street, they would be cheap and probably do as they say....

I hate football at the moment!

We need a manager not another coach. Granted the transition from coach to manager can happen successfully. But the current situation at the club undoubtedly requires somebody more experienced given the dismantling of the club over past couple of years. No offense to Billy McKinlay but of all the managers linked to the post with previous Rovers history he's not exactly the one to get excited about.

Getting quite embarrassing as well with all the "rejects Blackburn approach" headlines, A club run properly usually manages to keep these sort of things from leaking to the media.

The current situation as I know it,

There is 4 list of manager, (yep looks confusing already)

There is the Shebby list, where he has plucked these names from god only knows? These are basically young coach's who he believes from his advisors and himself have the right profile to go onto greater things. This is the likes of Sherwood/McKinlay, Not the profile we are all hoping for and IMHO a gamble not worth taking after the last two years. He has seemed pretty focused on what he wants, and not really considered anything anyone has said to him regarding supporters feelings about the need to appoint a manager rather than another experimental coach

Then there is the applicant list- This list includes the likes of Schuster , Daum, Hill, Dickov, Keane , Flitcroft, ect , This list appears to be getting totally overlooked at present which makes a mockery of the early statement of we wont approach anyone, we will wait on applicants and speak to those.

Then there is the Shaw list- Which includes the likes of McCarthy, Grayson and generally managers with experience.

Finally there is the "IFS and BUTs List, This includes Managers who would like the job but not under Singh and not under the current set up, This includes Shearer, Salgado, Holloway.

At present only list 1 counts, although every man and his dog is trying to educate Singh that list 2, 3 and 4 all have good merits and better merits than list 1.

So this could go any way now, a pause is now taking place whilst Rovers re-assess todays fall out and supporters reaction, However as you can all see some managers will only come if certain people in the selection process disappear.

What happens next is anyones guess, but im seriously getting a headache with the whole thing

You need to be using all available sources to get this message to Pune.

Presumably, you have Kamy on board with his contacts in Pune ?

Whoever is chosen deserves a fair crack. Anyone chanting \ booing and cancelling season tickets is to me unfair and irrational.

I'm a little disgusted at the McKinley link, but I'll give him a chance - give them rope and either use it to pull us, or hang themselves.

Well for me McCarthy / holloway in - Shebby out!

Grateful for his role in getting Kean out but is he big enough an asset to let him get in the way of bringing a proper manager in

The answer to that in my mind is a clear NO!

I propose we get rid of Singh, Shaw and Agnew and get in Holloway and a respected chief exec

+1

This from the action group website ; Statement from Shebby Singh full story here http://www.brfcactiongroup.co.uk/manager-search-official-club-response/

“This is for all fans – I am deeply saddened and shocked by the persecution of former players whose names have been linked as potential managers of this club. It is a culture shock for me as everywhere in the world, former players are lauded for their contributions and achievements. On the choice of a new manager, it is now time for contemplation as due process is carried out”.

Thanks for sharing Glen, also just seen the press release on BRAG's website which is very reassuring.

How Shebby fails to see why McKinlay has received this reaction shows just how much distance there still is between the club and the fans. We do not want an inexperienced manager, we need to get promoted and we need to take the least amount of risk possible in order to achieve this. Every manager is a potential risk but it is ALL about bringing in the man with the least amount of risk attached. This means experience of winning promotion is a necessity.

It really is that simple.

hope now they are seeing sense, let singh take a backseat now somewhere away from first team affairs and bring one of the experienced guys, surely the loons from pune will see its better to pander to the wishes of thousands rather than one ego-maniacal lime-light seeker.

As per the statement on the BRFC action group site Shebby is claiming persecution of former players

I don't think he quite understands the meaning of the word!
