This from the action group website ; Statement from Shebby Singh full story here http://www.brfcactio...-club-response/

“This is for all fans – I am deeply saddened and shocked by the persecution of former players whose names have been linked as potential managers of this club. It is a culture shock for me as everywhere in the world, former players are lauded for their contributions and achievements. On the choice of a new manager, it is now time for contemplation as due process is carried out”.

Did the action group clarify the fans fears about how closely linked McKinley seems to the fans of Kean. Even if this is arbitrary/circumstantial etc i hope somebody spelled out in plain language why it would not be a good move!!! (Not that the action group is getting involved in the process of appointments but) i'm sure they are in a position to clarify the fans views/thought processes etc.

More to the point, did they not ask...

"come on Shebby, who is actually running our club?"

I don't think there's much point in getting too upset by Shebby's remarks. They're completely wrong, but I'd imagine that they are said in frustration and, when all is said and done, they change nothing. If this little outbust is a sign that he's changing his mind about the appointment, then all I see is good news.

For what it's worth the prospect of even someone like Andy Todd being a successful Rovers manager makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, let alone Shearer or Sherwood who will always have a place in the hearts of Rovers fans. But if there was ever a time for sober judgement over giddy sentamentalism, it is now.

WTF is he doing announcing his dismay/apology/admission of total inadequacy/lack of brain.... on fecking BRAG????

Exactly, once again the levels of amateurishness shine through. I thought we were told BRAG were not offering opinions on managers or being consulted?

This is simply not working on so many levels.

Good lord it would be a bloodbath every week.

@RobbieSavage8: To all Blackburn fans , should I try and get involved at Blackburn in some capacity ?

Is there a way we could get sav to put a point across to singh that we don't hate all former players and stress the importance of what is needed in the next manager? He might just listen to him

Lets be honest as fans of this once proud club.... we can no longer bail the water out fast enough.

Very sad & very true.

Whilst this perfect storm of Keanwits are around - the last remnant's of BRFC are being washed away.

We are no longer a football club but instead a circus. Today's events have confirmed that.

That statement bu Shebby is frankly a disgrace. How dare he say that fans are "persecuting" former players. Nothing of the sort is happening, we love Shearer/Sherwood for what they did on the pitch, they are club legends, but it is right for people to question appointing them as manager due to their lack of experience, even then people were willing to accept them. So to disrespect fans in the manner that Shebby has by saying that what we are doing is against "football culture" is disgraceful, I can guarantee you that when Sir Alex steps down as United manager, their fans won't want Kean or Bruce as example. That doesn't mean that they are persecuting them, they will still be United legend who their fans respect for what they did on the pitch.

Sherwood and Shearer didn't get too much of an adverse reaction did they?

Just McKinlay.

Exactly.....McKinlay did mostly for his Kean connections.

Also for his inexperience just like all the other inexperienced ones.

What was meant to be the effect of that statement? Trying to soften the blow before McKinlay is appointed? Seems atm to be the most likely option. What a clown.

We are now in a situation where fans are more divided than in the protest/don't protest days. It is also criminal that we have serious divisions between the people allegedly charged with running the club in its best interests openly criticising supporters via social media. I long for the days when these didn't exist when it comes to football, and the job of hiring and firing could be done in private and without all the distractions that blogs, twitter, Facebook etc etc bring. Nor do I believe that personal foul personal insults from fans about any prospective manager help the situation one bit. This plays right into the hands of those who regard Rovers fans as the lowest of the low.
