  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

Recommended Posts

I don't know which is worse - his statement, the fact he considered McKinlay as a good option - or that he is listening to internet tittle tattle so intently. We will never get a manager at this rate - as there will be some adverse reaction to any name leaked - does he not understand this ?

Appointment by Wednesday ... hmmm

sorry speedie dived, why should we as a club take that chance? if a club from the lower reaches of this league or the lower leagues wants to take that chance good luck to em, but we are not a breeding ground for up and coming novice coaches

We are not offering our opinions on managers or being consulted about candidates.

We simply pointed out the response from the supporter base, that is the supporters general opinion not our personal ones and encouraged him to read forum boards to gauge the wider fan opinion.

The alternative was to allow him to go ahead and appoint an unproven manager such as Billy Mckinlay, by ignoring the supporters concerns. Is this what was preferable for you?

As an elected supporters body, who have been inundated with supporters concerns all day, we passed these concerns on, as this is what we do.

Exactly the role i hoped and think that you should take. The voice of the fans. Thank you, you have my 100% support with this stance!!!!

Everything about this club is just wrong. Run by people who are so out of their depth it's frightening. The very definition of incompetence.

They are listening to "football people" ? Care to name them Shebby ?

If that list is correct then I suggest you listen to the PNE supporting shelf salesman. That's how bad it's got.

What have you done with all those people who ran this club so well before you arrived ? Discarded, 'cause you could. You decided instead to take the advice of a liar - who was particularly inept at winning football matches. You also decided to take the "advice" of Agents, and continue to do so it would appear.

Venkys, you really are a disgrace to the memories of the people who made this club and its supporters. The day you decide to sell up and get out can't come quick enough. You will not be missed for a second.

Glen just quoted the 4 manager lists, Shebby Singh is releasing statements on brag websites, clearly being consulted.

Who are we to say McKinlay wont be a success? We are fans who follow decisions of a club, not ultras who dictate club policy. Madness.

Mark - I hope you have also passed on what the majority of fans think of him. A chancer who knows nothing about BRFC. A Keaning leech sucking the lifeblood from our club like the other no mark Keanwits at our club.

Tell him we'd like him to F¥€K OFF.

At this stage if i was Shebby i would pay a minimal fee to secure the short term services of Tony Parks or somebody the fans trust until an appointment is made (i respect Black as a coach but he unfortunately is linked too closely to Kean and is not what we need). But Shebby isn't me so this own't happen. mIts not that hard surely!!!

As much as that idea sounds like a fantastic one, this is what they should have done when Kean resigned if they were planning to take so long over an appointment.

As for now, it's way too late down the line, it's time we had a manager in place.

Well done shebby in that statement you have confirmed what I've thought all along, your a grade a gobshite

+100

It is an arrogant statement that only adds fuel to the anti-Venky's fire. This bloke is clearly out of his depth. Persecution??? How dare he. We, as fans/supporters of this club, have a right to voice genuine anxiety at a move being made to bring in another inexperienced non-manager after the disasterous Kean-era. Especially when Shebby himself has been telling us about the calibre of experienced applicants. Shebby - were you lying again??

Of all the former players we could have as manager, I don't think McKinley would be in my top 10. Or most people's.

If he's aiming to get the fans back on side (like he suggested on Radio Rovers the day after Kean left he's going the wrong way about it.

Top 10:

Mark Hughes

Keith Hill

Henning Berg

Tugay

Salgado

Shearer

Sherwood

Newell

Nelsen

Not McKinley

The madness started two years ago - it's just getting more menacing. We have tried to give those freaks a chance - they just keep spitting in our face.

Not pointing fingers or saying this situation is anyone's fault but Venky's, but our very own Kamy did tell Shebby repeatedly not to listen to the fans, but instead listen to "football people". Which may or may not be what Shebby Singh's been doing.

Appointment by Wednesday ... hmmm

McKinlay was his man for Wednesday that has now been shattered.

If it wasn't clear before it is now and there is ONLY ONE COURSE OF ACTION TO TAKE

It is time to step back from discussions with Shebby and the Board and to resume hostilities in order to drive these clowns out fo the club. Sadly the owners are here to stay it seems but there is no need for us to suffer fools such as Singh, Shaw and Agnew

We need to step back to the 80's and take on the chant of yesteryear and that chant is SACK THE BOARD

Banners need to be made the message repeated until all these clowns are swept out of Ewood.

SACK

THE

BOARD!

thats what makes it so bizarre, why did he release a big statement about the quality of the applicants in the first place when all he wanted all along was a young we-behind-the-ears coach. was he trying to gain brownie points or something?

The same reason he told everybody he had the power to sack Steve Kean. He's a serial bullshitter.

Absolutely, I know he did. Seems to me they listen to who they want - and don't necessarily take anything on board. The point being they were surrounded by proper "football people" when they bought the club.

What amazes me most is the fact that nobody in power realises this appointment is more important than just ability. It is certainly the most important decision to be made for Rovers since the Trust signed over the deeds to the illogical Venky's. Not only does this man have to be competant. but he needs to be a big enough personality to win back the fans trust. I can't believe that we have people making this decision who are oblivious to this. Its not even a matter of intelligence. They need only read messageboards like this to understand. I'd urge Singh, Balaji, Mrs desai or whoever - play it safe. Go with experience and you stand the best chance of clawing back your investment.

I hope the reaction and emails of brag members distinguished between shearer / sherwood on the one hand, and McKinley on the other. The wording used in singhs statement suggests not.

I would have been all for sherwood or shearer. A lot of rovers fans would. Vast majority of rovers fans would have supported them, even if not necessarily first choice for those who wanted experience. I don't think emails of brag members criticising their prospective appointments would reflect the rovers fan base as a whole.

I was not however in support of McKinley, principally because of his links with kean. I think this view is widely shared.

I emphasise again I hope singhs statement relates to McKinley and not shearer/ sherwood.

Yes it did - but I also think as fans we need to start getting behind the club rather than think we run it. Unfortunately Shebby is daft enough to read what people write on the internet which is only a relatively small percentage of the fan base. He will never make a damned appointment if he waits for everybody to agree on a name - because it doesn't exist. Personally all this persecution of ex-players is bull - if he genuinely wanted an ex-player to bring the fans together he would have approached Shearer - everyone has doubts - but he would bring an initial feel good factor back to Ewood like no other ex-player appointment could (possibly other than Hughes).

As for fan power - there was adverse reaction to Sam Allardyce being appointed post Hughes leaving - and we ended up with Ince - makes you think !
