  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

Thanks. Pretty obvious from that list that they haven't the faintest idea who's going to take over imo.

Nuno Gomes 80/1? Reid? Laws?

I would hazard a guess the 1/4 currently offered on Sherwood is an inducement to mug punters to throw their money away rather than an accurate indication of how likely he really is to get the job at this particular point.

If they really thought he was that certain to get the job they'd close the market.

Do you know why it's taken so long before they've even started speaking to people Kamy? Seems bizarre that they are now going through the same actions which you would go through immediately before drawing up a shortlist, rather then the other way around?

Would you know whether Singh is aware that some fans are beginning to get pretty fed up with what is now becoming a farce?

Thanks for the info btw.

He is aware of fans getting anxious, and was wondering why everyone was so 'twitchy'. Explained that this was because of the way things have gone under Venky's ownership.

I have no problems with them taking their time, but it doesn't look likely at the moment that we will get someone in this week (but that could change) so that would be three weeks, and then you begin to worry.

My other concern is Shebby himself. Why does a global advisor spend so much time at Brockhall? My worry is that he might start to fancy a more 'hands on role'.

I was thinking that reading that Mail article and seeing him in Rovers training gear with his initials on it, seems he is down at Brockhall most days.

More immediate than the previous problems under Venky's, has he seen results under Black?.

Another three of those and the season could be dead in the water. Unless we fancy the excitement of another relegation scrap of course.

the parallels between what happened after Allardyce left and what's happening now are getting bigger by the day, If Black can get a couple of wins(no chance we will have a new manager by next weekend) i fully expect him to be here until at least xmas, at which point he will be given a new contract(regardless of team performance).

Shebby just seems to be playing everybody, telling people what they want to hear and turning the 'ITK's' against each other(to keep them preoccupied).

Not been on here since the Wolves game.

Is there anywhere doing odds on next Rovers manager? Had a quick look on Betfair and couldn't find it.

Use this link.

It's excellent and compares all the bigger bookies' odds:

that worried me too. wearing the training gear? what for? his only priority should be getting the right man in as soon as possible (bearing in mind he stressed getting up this season was the first priority and that he sanctioned spending 8 million on Rhodes). this shortlist should have been ready mid week after the charlton game at the latest. the appointment should have been made yesterday at the latest, I would have thought. any new manager is going to have to spend weeks on getting these players fit...

Reading between the lines of Shebbys cringeworthy interview with the Daily Mail earlier this week, he would love the job.

The more I hear Shebby Singh, the more worried I get for our clubs future. He is clueless (or very clever).

Heard that Bolton will appoint next week and that Burnley job is between Mellon and Appleton - seem to like their fruits !

Looks like we will be bringing up the rear with John Coleman added to the short list !

Thanks again Kamy. I've got to admit, I share the same view as yourself. The more that Singh seems to get involved in the first team, the less likely it is that we will get a manager in who is left to manage, as it should be.

I was certain that 3 weeks (which it will become just before the Derby game) should have seen the appointment of a new man. Now, I just get the impression that Singh is hoping Black will be able to get some results so that his appointment can be confirmed and Singh has his own puppet in charge.

I fear BRFC will not return to normal until Venky's have left the building. Having Singh around, for me, is more sinister than Kean could ever be and shows all fans that things will get much, much worse before they get better. Feeling very dejected about Rovers right now - hard to see a way forward.

Was one of the things I pointed out before he arrived.. the guy is a meddler, a self styled "student of the game" as he puts it.. prior to rovers he was messing with the ESPN stars program, advising on coaching with the Malaysia FA, local Malasian TV, ESPN pundit, setting up the football academies in India and writing in papers.... IMO he is one of those who spends two minutes looking at something and declares himself an expert..

Just flick through some of the Shebby articles on the daily mail site.. they make for interesting reading, while he was instumental in getting rid of Kean and is a bit of a likeable baffoon some of his direct quotes scare the poo out of me and I fear for every aspect of the club from our renown accademy through to the first team.

I see money is currently going on OGS at Ladbrokes - down from 14/1 to 2/1 today. Worth keeping an eye on although I would imagine this is just because he recently reportedly distanced himself from the Bolton job.

IF OGS indicates seriously that he is interested then he would deffo be in the running, but whatever his reps have said to Rovers has made it look like he is not a serious option.

If we are going down the inexperienced route then OGS is the outstanding candidate if he is interested.

We can all relax, seemingly, Venky's have the matter in hand !

Scolari has just been spotted in Mumbai with the venkys owners, looks to be a dead cert, singbet have also shortened odds to 1/4

I agree with others that it seems like December 2010 again and only the fact that the club were surprised by having decent candidates has slowed down an announcement that Black has the job for a while

I think a lot of people coming forward has possibly put a spanner in the works in that regard as it makes the decision to keep black and have Shebby in a footballing role harder to jusitify

The more time goes on without us naming a new boss, the more I agree with the above.

Well said, fully agree. Venkys have a history of doing things quickly if they want to - Allardyce and Jensen spring to mind - so the reason for the delay IMO is that they are giving Black as much of a chance as possible to get a couple of wins so that they can give him the job full time.

They have keaned it up so many times why would they get it right this time? Fully expect Black to be our full time manager by the end of October.

I agree that be true but if that was the case why did Shebby confirm this? He was the one that made it public that there were high quality applicants.

I suppose it's possible. Venkys offices in Brazil, the guy over there who was tapping Ronnie Etc. 'Dreamers'!

Can't see Big Phil coming in, though if it happened I would be grinning like the Cheshire Cat.

Robinson is widely tipped to be a very good manager but isn't he younger than a fair few of our squad? AVB failed at Chelsea because the players didn't respect the manager and I think age came into the equation there. Think it would be the same for us. After all our squad is riddled with big headed morons.

If Sherwood came in he might be able to wrangle some respect and if any of the kopites in the team give him any stick he can just use "How many Premier League's have you won?" Shuts them up nearly all the time.

Depending of the calibre of manager Bolton and Burnley get in come the end of the week we could be very embaressed.......though I suppose for us embaressment is second nature now.

When do they ever leave Pune? Seems this ITK couldn't be arsed/was too thick to find out where Venkys are based.

It's not even a good rumour, Scholari and Rovers just wouldn't work.
