  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

Recommended Posts

Holloway was a poor manager but if you read up on him you will realise that he had a bit of time away from the game and totally changed his style and approach.

He is now a bloomin' good manager and i would be VERY VERY VERY happy if he was on our touchline.

I may stick a bet on a certain KH taking over at a North West club.

. Wolves played crap football and the fans arranged protests against him. Sounds like a certain manager we just got rid of?

Would hate it if we got mcCarthy, seriously hate it. But he would have my support

Good old Wolves fans - turned against McCarthy, got Terry Connor instead and were relegated. Sounds the like Rovers idiots whose protests helped to persuade Venky's to dump Sam, and years before, Charlton fans who campaigned for Curbishley to be ousted. Both of those clubs were relegated too.

McCarthy ain't no managerial genius but he'd galvanise our load of slackers and get us promoted.

Who would have put money on Blackpool EVER playing in The Premier League before Holloway arrived at the seaside? Not only did he achieve the improbable, he did with a team playing progressive, attractive football. His team then made a decent fist of a season in the top flight despite having to root through the bargain bin for recruits. Blackpool have remained a Championship force and they have come on a million miles since Holloway arrived. He's a top manager and a top bloke form what I can tell.

I'd love us to get him but I cant see it happening.

I find it amazing that people would be unhappy with Holloway. He achieved a minor miracle at Blackpool getting them promoted and nearly achieved the equivalent of the second coming of Jesus Christ when narrowly avoiding relegation from the Premier League.

I get the feeling that no matter who the club appoint, there will still be some factions against it, my only hope is that they don't turn on the new guy, whoever it is and give him their support and unity for the greater interest of the club.

My own preferences are McCarthy, OGS and Holloway. Coyle would also probably do a decent job this season. Everyone else would not be as fitting for the role, in my opinion, yet I will still back them all the way (bar Eric Black which would be suicidal if he was to be promoted).

I just read people creaming their kecks over Holloway's amazing career which was pretty average pre-blackpool in my humble fly brained opinion. I will support any manager we appoint until the point comes where I feel he has lost it. Just like I supported Kean until we got beat at Wigan 4-3 when it was obvious his incompetency was terminal and not just a blip

It's doubtful whether Venkys would have kept Sam whether he was liked or loathed.

Doubt it would have mattered if Rovers fans were happy about SA or not, he still would have been binned.

That logic is severely flawed at any rate, what on earth have they done since, that the protests have helped to persuade them to do Jim? Pray do tell.

Holloway has had a pretty amazing career all things considered.

Guilt complex ?

Nope. I didn't overly like the football under Allardyce, but knew it was necessary for the greater good. He achieved minor miracles here, and for the record, it was the happiest I'd been as a blue since Hughes.....

Must try harder there Jim.

We need to get this appointment right if only to banish the name of Sam Allardyce to history before poeple begin to retrospectively big him up in their memories so much they think he won the European Cup.

Why on earth would we want to banish the name of someone who history will record as easily being one of our better managers?

People only big him up so much because certain other people have a ridiculously harsh assessment of his time with us.

If we could get Holloway I for one would be ecstatic. He's not had a single bad year at Blackpool, and always seemed to get more out of the team than the sum of the parts, and all that while playing good football and without spending much cash. You always take the risk with appointing a new manager, but Holloway would be much more of a safe bet than almost all the other names mentioned (including experienced forgeign coaches)

sorry el, we shouldn't just back any manager for the sake of backing, why would black deserved to be backed? hes clearly not up to the task, if we clap and sing his name every game its like we are saying he is doing nothing wrong, in theory every manager should be got behind but if the fans dont think he will be up to the job then we have to let the owners know, i dont think black, robinson, etc are up to the job so therefore they wont get my backing, ( i know you will say im not a proper fan) i pay my hard earned cash to watch rovers so i have a right to voice my disapproval.

Id get behind any real manager once they get the job(apart from Eric Black!), its just personally i think Holloway and McCarthey should just be seen as relatively safe fall backup options, i think the club should at least make a serious effort in getting somebody of a higher calibre or somebody with a lot of genuine potential .

Whether it's Black or Mourinho appointed they have my full backing and should have all fans' backings. From the cheapest appointment to a marquee name... I have my preferences, as we all do, but we should all get behind the new manager, whoever that may be.

Unfortunately I get the feeling that some fans are still quietly juiced up for more conflict with the owners.

Black is the one person who I don't feel i could ever get behind to be honest. I certainly wouldn't be protesting against him but his appointment would mean that Venkys haven't learnt anything from Steve Kean and his disastrous time at the club. I think Black and the rest of the coaching staff have to go when the new manager comes in for any progress to be made.

The sacking of Sam was the reason we are now in the Championship.

McCarthy isn't as clever as him but he's from the same tough mould and would do a good job for us.

You think Alan Shearer is up to the job but not Karl Robinson, who whilst likely not being the new Mourinho, has done a pretty good job with MK Dons thus far?

His career has seen his fair share of highs and lows but in this situation, where I feel he is still doing a good job, he would have the experience and the character to give us a great chance of going back up. Not to mention, his methodology has always been top drawer, even with the players he has had at his disposal.

In the race for the job, other than McCarthy and OGS, I can't think of anyone with the attributes required to take us up. Nobody is the perfect fit for this job which is largely down to the way the club has been run and I guess whoever we appoint will have his problems. Good to see you committed to supporting whoever gets the job though.

Can you see Holloway suffering fools like Singh, Shaw and Agnew?

Having had such a mediocre career I'd have thought he'd just be delighted to get the opportunity to manage such a big club.

Karl Oyston?

The polar opposite of the definition of the word "fool."
