The LT article says that Holloway would need to force a move for anything to happen. He did that at Plymouth and it ended in tears and he vowed never to do that again.

So..

Will Blackpool let him go ? No chance. I would say we would have to blow them away with compensation for this to happen.

Would he force a move ? Again I would say no chance.

Would he work under Shebby and Venkys ? He might but I don't think he would force a move from Blackpool to work for them !

He is a top manager but I can't help feeling this is a complete and utter waste of time.

Firstly, Holloway is a maverick - so don't rule anything out.

Secondly, let's just suppose that there is a release clause in his contract and that the release clause is not financially onerous ! It is speculated that Holloway is on a relatively short term contract with relatively low basic but is heavily performance incentivised.

I think the chances that this could happen are far, far greater than some would think !

So two and a half weeks after Kean leaves we are still 'pondering' our next move?

Something stinks

We did approach Spurs for Sherwood quite quickly, got turned away, received applications from former Real Madrid managers which flattered Shebby and Balaji, decided to wait until all the applications were in at which point Shebby decided he wanted to groom the next British Mourinho who happens to be his initial idea of Tim Sherwood, Derek Shaw joined the process and suggested some experienced North West based managers which is where we are now.

Just thought I would flag up a few points which have occurred to me regarding the current situation - I may be putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 17 but anyway...

Maybe all this apparent inertia is purely and simply down to Venky's continuing arrogance towards club affairs i.e. they will deal with it when they are good and ready and not before, and they will not put the Club's needs before their own schedules, etc. This could possibly explain why the Club didn't get round to even drawing up their short-list until last Thursday (maybe the Chuckle brothers had a window then to attend the meeting via telephone). All this guff from Shebby Singh about taking time to find the right man, etc, could just be to make excuses for them?

Anyway, regardless of whether there is any truth in that, another possible factor in the continuing delay might be that they are waiting to see if they are likely to have to make a big pay-off to Kean which might reduce or wipe out any budget to go and get someone who is already in work? I would accept that any Employment Tribunal proceedings are unlikely to be resolved imminently but once Kean has made his claim and the lawyers and evaluated it, they will have a pretty good idea at that point if they are going to have to pay him off or not. I personally don't believe the rumours regarding team selections being imposed on him but if 'Team Kean' found out (and have reasonable evidence) of an approach to Sherwood whilst Kean was still in post, that would certainly seem to constitute reasonable grounds for making Kean's position untenable.

These points may of course wbe complete red-herrings - my own personal hope is that they have sounded out OGS who has agreed to join but is not prepared to dump Molde whilst they are on the verge of another league title so maybe things are being strung out. That is my hope but knowing this lot, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Black gets the job if we manage to win on Sat.

Interesting to note that both burnley and Bolton have spoken too, or had contact with Mick MaCarthy, and we're the ones who again find ourselves on the back foot because the clubs run by idiots and a couple of confused brothers.

After the euphoria of getting rid of king rat, it seems like we're all going to left deflated if these buffoons don't get their fingers out and soon.

If you read the articles you will see that they havn't put together a shortlist. But hey let's selectively believe bullshit in newspapers just so we can criticize our own club... Who needs dingles when we can do the job ourselves?

Are you serious?

Its the owners are their cronies that are being criticized, not the club.

I havent read a newspaper, I would rather just read direct quotes from Singh every time he runs his mouth off. That my friend is why I am concerned.

See, this would sound feasible, however you must remember that they were quite willing to splash £8 million on Rhodes.

Something definitely doesn't add up in all of this and hasn't from the start.

I also think we will see some twist's and turns.

I wouldn't rule out OGS yet either. I think he will come. It's all about timing.

And I think the timing is somewhere between 29. oct to 4.nov.

Can we afford to wait so long? That's the question.

Derby away

Sheffield W home

Watford home

Crystal Palace away

That's the matches until 3.nov.

Is that because of the end of the Norwegian season, Boltinho?

Molde is basicly done 3.november. Easy matches rest of the season and is meeting 3 of the top 4 in the upcomming games.

The table will be set by then. If they manage to win those i believe OGS will consider his options, but not before 3.nov.

It's a bit late for me, but Iam a huge fan of OGS and think he will be a future Man.UTD manager or someone else in top 4.

He has the brains and the knowledge of English football and culture. I think every supporter will be behind OGS and he will do well for Blackburn.

A manager don't last that long to see him go to a bigger club anytime soon and I think Blackburn is perfect for him. Bolton may also be a good choice...

Just an example as to how backward, IMO, the thinking is now at Ewood Park.

With still no new manager in sight, got a letter this morning offering me a refund on the Wolves match if I bought season ticket(s).

If i had have bought pre season, each JW ticket would have cost me £399, a saving of £232 on the season or put another way, a discount of 37%.

The offer now is £430 (£459 less £29/ Wolves ticket), saving of just £68, or a discount of 14%, against the season's remaining home fixtures and that's assuming I would be able to, or want to, attend every single one.

It really is frightening, p1ss-up / brewery readily comes to mind.

You couldn't make all this up !

Interesting, Boltinho. I think that OGS would have the same toughness as Sparky demonstrated when he managed us. I bet he'd demand no interference from the Board or Shebby before he'd sign on the dotted line.

Btw, friends of mine who follow Blackpool tell me there are a couple of reasons why Olly wouldn't come to us.

Apart from "Nobody in their right mind would" come to Rovers [they really enjoy telling me that!], it's also rumoured that, as Olly "takes a cut of all transfers out from Karl [Oyston], it's not worth his while. At some point this season, he will (have) to sell Tom Ince, Matt Phillips and Alex Baptiste.".

Yes, the postman brought me one of those too. Tasteful "Arte et Labore" in the top right-hand corner, I thought. ^_^

After the display against Wolves, however, it went straight into the pile of paper for recycling!

And how big do you think that cut is ?

Just suppose that happens and they get ten million pounds in, each 1% is worth £100k.

Think you might find that his basic differential between Rovers and Blackpool would be a minimium of half a million per annum, so think that it might be a bit of a red herring !

He's on a one year rolling contract according to the Blackpool gazetta del sporto.

Those one year rolling contracts that a few members on here were telling me decent managers would never sign...

OGS has said today “Blackburn, Bolton – rumours are popping up all the time. I pay very little attention to them”. He added “I can promise I will stay at Molde for the rest of the season”.

Very interesting that he hasn’t committed himself beyond this season. I get the impression that Bolton might be prepared to wait for him.

Agree with this. Some people just don't get exactly how much Kean was on at Rovers and how big a gulf there is between what we spend and the likes of Blackpool spend. What Holloway has done with Blackpool is a miracle in modern football.

I'd wait for him if Shebby, lads a diamond waiting to be carved.

So after Shaw saying we don't need to approach managers they will come to us, Shebby talking about the quality of the applications.. we go for two people who have apparently not signaled interest and have to deal with two of the biggest hard nuts directors in the leagues.. hmmm

I am hoping that it is the simple but awkward situation where OGS wants the job but will not leave Molde until he has won the title with them, but it is a very dangerous one given the timing and having to wait for numerous matches before he arrives (at which point the league may be out of reach and he may loose interest).

I have had the same the same thought and I am pretty sure OGS won't be going anywhere until the Norwegian season is over in mid November, effectively ruling him out unless our bunch continue to muck about. Another month is just too long to wait before appointing someone new.

As Kamy correctly wrote OGS have said to norwegian media that he will stay at Molde for the rest of the season.

To guarantee auto promo, you need 92 points.

Lose at Derby and we will then need 76 points from 35 games.

Get nervous when people talk about thirty odd matches to go and a good manager will soon claw back the deficit.

Firstly, don't think our squad is anywhere near as good as some folk think and secondly, it could take a new manager at least half a dozen matches to get his thoughts, philosophy across etc.

Every game that passes without a new manager makes the task even harder.

It might already be too late for us this season.
