  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

Recommended Posts

We sacked him September 28th, and now he's still not been replaced (the cynic tells me he has, but the club won't announce Black for a bit yet).

I'd bet my house on Bolton and Burnley having a new manager in place before we do.

Shambolic as ever from the chicken farmers.

He resigned - he wasn't sacked. Which illustrates that it's even more shambolic than you'd imagined.

Has anyone got that post which someone put up about the last few times we replaced a manager?

Even under JW and co we have never rushed into appointing a new man - think its just about normal the length of time we have taken so far.

Whilst that's almost certainly true and maybe even the right thing for the recruitment team to do, I think the fanbase's frustration stems from putting up with 2 years of Keanaldinho (God rest his soul).

It's understandable people want a change in the here and now. So much uncertainty for so long, then a release, a light at the end of the tunnel, followed by a few weeks more of uncertainty leads only to unrest.

I just hope that, in a few weeks' time we can all look back at this and chuckle, "Look at us, bloody worriers. Nowt to worry about!"

When we took a while to find a manager we had TP as caretaker. We have a buffoon at the moment who is going to do irrepairable damage to the teams league position, morale and chances of promotion. Time is not on our side.

I don't understand how anybody could reject any of them. In what position would they do such a thing? There are many appointments from that list I would disagree with but as I'm unaware of how to reject them I've been unable to select anything but every manager named in the options as I would still be a fan and supporter of the club regardless of who was appointed, albeit with varied emotions.

I read it as an unfinished question and added my own ending to it;

Which of these managers would you accept...are suitable/qualified to be the next manager of rovers?

I didn't think it was meant to infer which would you kick off over but it probably is thinking about it.

Isn't Simon in the Montenegro national team and has been all through his rovers tenure?

He may even have more playing time for them than us to date. I'd also ask if Black watches the england team play as Simon did rather well in that match.

EDIT: my bad

He looked decent when Montenegro played England.

My biggest fear is if the Nick Harris article is correct and Kean on a contract until 2016 and £16 million to pay up his contract, thats £4,000,000 per annum, more than SAF, Redknapp, Rogers, Wenger etc - that kind of money if correct and purely out of common sense, you dont pay that kind of salary to the worst manager in history unless he has something pretty serious against the owners!!

Even if all was above board and we appoint a new manager and only pay him half that amount, thats £6,000,000 per year plus tax liabilities, we simply cannot sustain these kind of costs and as such, will not be able to afford a new manager, this is my opinion of course but based on common sense.

Nothing wrong with that provided it is part of a set of defined objectives and based upon net transfer trading ie would only be payable if other specific objectives achieved in relation to league position, performance etc.

What is wrong with rewarding managers for unearthing and developing uncut gems that the club then sell on for big profit - as you could see Blackpool doing with Paul Ince.

I didn't actually stipulate that i thought anything was wrong with it but rather posed the question of whether our owners would go along with it as they have (allegedly) not been happy at how other people have taken a cut from tranfsfers.

As for Black and his comment about Simon, not the brightest thing to say but if he sticks him in CM next game then at least we know he is seeing what we are seeing ie a shocking midfield that desperately needs something...

My recollection is that Paul Ince and Sam Allardyce were appointed after a three week process and Graeme Souness took four weeks.

Three weeks following the Kean walk-out comes round on Friday. Cannot see any evidence of a process to be honest.

Think Sam was appointed within 2 or 3 days of Ince going !

Thankfully, Matthias' caretaker role never took in a league match.

Yes, the trust did sell us but I think it's SK & JA you have to thank for Venkys fella.

Wrong! The Trust agreed these were the right buyers to continue the Walker legacy-ably advised by the Board of Directors. If they had said no then we would have hardly known about Coco and JA.

The Trustees and The Previous Board want crucifying for this betrayal.

Yes but he resigned ?!

"Constructive dismissal" ? There's been nothing constructive about his tenure whatsoever. Nearly relegated season 1, relegated season 2. DD charge. That video. Declining gates, nearly no sponsors. Are you telling me he's going to claim for £16m ? Because Shebby brought in a fist full of Nuno's - so he walked away ? Surely, surely, he'd be laughed out of court ?

Jumped before he was pushed

How can anyone be highly rated at something they've never done before?

good point, "highly regarded"

but really this is a hard decision to make, that will affect the next few years of BRFC, if venkeys need to take there time to get it right then so be it
