Dont rate hollaway. Big fish in small pond syndromme.

I want to know how schuster feels haven't seen out on him other than his application... Same with henrik larsson. Do they want it? Why are we considering olly ahead of la liga winners? Got to think big and appoint big to be big. Leave hollaeay on the Pepsi max. We got bigger fish to fry.

Ma

Makes you wonder what else has or is going on for anybody to walk away from such a deal - whoever that person was.

Yes but he resigned ?!

"Constructive dismissal" ? There's been nothing constructive about his tenure whatsoever. Nearly relegated season 1, relegated season 2. DD charge. That video. Declining gates, nearly no sponsors. Are you telling me he's going to claim for £16m ? Because Shebby brought in a fist full of Nuno's - so he walked away ? Surely, surely, he'd be laughed out of court ?

Venkys could just claim that there were all sorts of rumours going on throughtout the football world. That kean was under fire - using media terms. Any judge could just say that was the situation he was working under and that he knew that was the case. But he chose to resign - he was not sacked, even though he should have been.

I have no problems with them taking their time, but 3 weeks should be enough to recruit a decent manager.

Shebby is now under pressure, he has to deliver a manager that can take the club forward. He is already on the record confirming some “big” names have applied, if he now delivers a manager which underwhelms the majority of fans then he will rightly be challenged, the longer the process takes the greater the pressure to get it right. There can be no excuses this time.

My recollection is that Paul Ince and Sam Allardyce were appointed after a three week process and Graeme Souness took four weeks.

Three weeks following the Kean walk-out comes round on Friday. Cannot see any evidence of a process to be honest.

Allardyce was 3 DAYS after Ince.....

What's your informed opinion of when a new man will be appointed ?

Some think it is much, much closer than many think whilst others can't even see a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel !

Surely if the notion that Kean left in order to receive a bigger compensation package exists then Venkys would be able to prove this if he took them to court. Plus if it was the fans who made his position untenable then presumably the club wouldn't be accountable (although i suspect that he'd have plenty of info on mismanagement within the club). Hopefully a Rover's fan will be presiding over any court hearings if there are any.

Pretty frightening and idiotic contract anyway!

Also, why are people obsessing over 'big names'? The only 'big names' worth having PURELY on the name are Fergie and Mourinho. After them, you have to go on merit and when was the last time Schuster or Benitez had merit worth a damn? Well over 5 years ago for both.

The manager must be appointed on merit (CURRENT merit) and that is someone like McCarthy or Holloway for me. Or else we go down the untried route *shudder*

I will add though, whoever the manager is they will get my full support, with the exception of Black, Shebby or Hendry.

According to Daily Mail, Timothy Sherwood is the first choice, and they have picked him. So it's no longer a case of being indecisive or not picking anyone. They have already made their choice, just making a compensation package. And in the event they fail to convince Sherwood, it seems that they are prepared to pay 500,000 pounds for Ian Holloway - this information is courtesy of our beloved Alan Nixon. So there you have it, mates. It isn't that they are being indecisive or ignorant or have not made their choice. It has been decided, and now we're waiting to see if the deals will fall in place. If all goes well, Sherwood will be in charge before Saturday. Of course, that is if you believe Alan Nixon or the Daily Mail.

Shebby is fixated by Sherwood. I don't think Sherwood will join us. If we can move on from that then we could still get someone in before Saturday. Other managers have deffo been talked to.

But my worry is that come Friday, it will be got to focus on 3 important games and so as not to distract players managed decision wil be delayed.

If we don't appoint this week then you've got to start to worry, but hopefully it gets sorted this week.

And of course that is all factual, isn't it Black burn

Perhaps I should have bolded my last line. Or written it in caplocks. Then perhaps you would have no reason to have a go at me for merely posting information here to stop the hysterics and unrelenting condemnation from spreading throughout the messageboard. Nonetheless I will copy that last line here for you: THAT IS IF YOU BELIEVE ALAN NIXON OR THE DAILY MAIL. In other words, you can choose not to believe them if you think they are full of keans and kean.

Ruddy heck. "Tim, do you want the job? Yes or No?" - If "No" go to option B. If "Yes" speak to Levy. Can we agree on compensation? Yes or No? If "Yes" done deal. If "No" then go to Option B. That doesn't take over two weeks.

"Distract the players" ?? Are those your words or the thoughts of the club Kamy? "Distract the players". Just get it done. They're paid to run around and win football matches - it's not chess. Is the new manager going to be sat in the stands (likely if brought in at the last moment before Saturday) pulling faces at them? Making raspberry noises when there's a throw in? (If so he's probably not our man in all fairness).

You just ask Black to take the team for one last game - go out with a bang. Do the job to the best of his ability. Reclaim the word "dignity". They should not be pussyfooting around any more than that for anyone.

Shebby/Shaw and Rovers have to get this sort by weekend. We need the new manager in asap. it would give the club, players and fans a massive lift and get everyone behind the new manager.

Rovers have a massive 3 games to get at least 7 points from there.

STOP MESSING AROUND SHEBBY AND SHAW, AND HIRED THE NEW MANAGER.

Sherwood isnt interest in becoming Rovers manager. if he was, he would have push it last week to come to us. He didnt!

Move on to the next man on the shortlist. Not bloody HARD!!!

Underwhelmed by it all to be honest. I really do think Rovers should have had the new manager installed by now. All this delay serves one purpose that is to ensure that we are facing another season without Premier League football.

Sort it out Shabby

Those were Shebby's words after Kean left and we had 3 games that week. I just hope we don't hear the same on Friday if new manager hasn't been appointed.

Allardyce was 3 DAYS after Ince.....

Not strictly correct. Allardyce had been interviewed prior to Ince being appointed. Then he was allowed to 'withdraw', face-saving statements being issued in the media saying he no longer wanted to be considered. He had probably been rejected but the way the media game is played, he was allowed to get out with his reputation intact. Sensible. Because...when the Ince tenure went the wrong way, the management had to do some fast backtracking and get Allardyce in after previously rejecting him. Must have been an interesting conversation. Probably went something like,'Erm. Sorry Sam. You know we rejected you a few months ago. Well, we would actually like you as our manager after all. Any chance you could, like, erm, save us from relegation? Thanks awfully.'Let's not get dewy-eyed about how it used to be with our former management structure. They made mistakes, too.

Kamy, IF he does indeed say those words and Black gets 3 further games, if we did reasonably well in those matches then would Black be favourite? Seems to me and some others that the delay is to allow Black to perform, thereore making it easier to appoint him.
