Rev - that post you quoted was missing a question mark as I recall Mercerman saying he thought goodwillie would bag more than Rhodes and wondered if he still felt the same a few games later

Still reckon he'll bag more than Rhodes this season?

Worryingly both seem of a similar mould but Rhodes seems slightly more assured but neither play the role we seem to aspire to

Rhodes is twice the player Goodwillie is Tom.

from Andrew Cryer on twitter

he was ask this ' One more for you... Do you think we will have Sherwood as new manager before Derby on sat?'

AC answer was 'my answer in lt tmrw'

Rumour that somebody has been offered the job just dont know who though.

I'm no WUM but I did vote for Judan Ali. Why? Because that's who I reckon Mrs D will/has chosen. I reckon the delay is circumstance i.e shebby didn't realise that there would be so much ' high calibre' applicants. IMO they are just going through the motions pretending to approach these folk before foisting someone unpalatable on us. My vote was an acknowledgement that I would have to accept the inevitable and back whoever they put in place. That and the fact that I put a wad on at 66-1.

You're right, it doesn't matter, but there's nothing pedantic about saying you'd fully back a manager even if he wouldn't be your first choice

I don't really care but this...

Exactly, you could have put another 20 names there and chances are I would have voted for them all, doesn't mean that some aren't far more preferable than others

Is pretty pedantic. All it is is a poll asking which candidates you find acceptable as candidates for the Rovers manager position. Voting for them all is pedantic if you find some far more preferable than others.

Unless you would actually have anyone, including Dora the tea lady and Ted the window cleaner. Then it's not pedantic, but it is mentally ridiculous.

ahhh bless!, have you just learnt that word recently by any chance, if your only judging managers by persona and appearance then i'm guessing you wouldn't be interested in McCarthy or Holloway either!

Yes just recently. After all, I through my entire adolescence unaware of the term. I'm big fans of the other two actually, now if you want a slanging match PM me and I'll tear you a new proverbial.

I fear I'm in danger of getting into an argument about something which niether of us are bothered about, nevertheless the question wasn't about who we'd like, it was who we'd accept. I've always been of the view that almost anyone other than Kean would be an improvement, and I'm not changing my opinion now he's out the door. Didn't vote for Black, Coyle or Singh (obviously), all I'm saying is that after the last 18 months I have pretty low standards of what I see as an acceptable manager, and that doesn't make me a pedant or on the wind up either.

I do apologise, I was posting on my mobile and cocked it up.

I meant to post that I was waiting for the punchline and that saying you expected Goodwillie to outcome Rhodes was a bit like saying you expected Duncan Shearer to outscore Alan Shearer! I wouldn't back him with a 15 goal start!

Been out for a few bevvies earlier tonight and a pal of mine was adamant that Rovers would appoint by Thursday.

This went on for a couple of hours and none of us could decide whether he had finally flipped or he had started taking an illegal substance. However, he is a serious, professional person, so we decided to give him the benefit of the doubt especially when he offered a freebie dinner and drinks if it doesn't happen!

He hasn't been told who it will be, only that it will be no surprise.

Coming from this guy, I'd give it an 8ish out of 10 of happening.

Cryptic or what?

I always knew there would be a groundhog day with Don Mackay.
