  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

I see Mr. Nixon seems to have forgotten about yestedays Holloway scoop already!

Mildly encouraging if Sherwood is showing interest though, this seems to be the first time he has shown any real interest in the position.

If it is Sherwood, i'm sure he won't play the puppet role and would bring a huge amount of professionalism to the club. If we get him, thank God because this was/still may be heading down a very dark road. If it is to be Singh's decision, let's hope it's Sherwood as other names are not worth thinking about.

Very suspicious of Singh until Sherwood is announced, if it is to be.

There has been some more optimism tonight from people involved in the process that the manager hunt is coming to an end, so it must be that Alan's report is correct that things have progressed on the Sherwood front, however I would urge caution as with Venky's anything is possible until things are officially announced.

Tim Sherwood wants Rovers talks

http://www.mirror.co...s-talks-1381956

"However, Sherwood is determined to meet Venky's big-wigs Balaji and Venkatesh Rao eye-to-eye and listen to their plans for the future - and discover the budget and wages on the table - first".

Starting off on the wrong foot there Tim. Mrs D is the one you need to nail down. Literally.

yea nixon is pathetic!, but i feel he must have genuinely heard something this time for him to change his view.

I wouldn't say he's pathetic, there has been a big rush on by many people at the club to bring in Holloway. If it is to be Sherwood fair enough and fair enough to Nixon as well, as he has said that he'd be surprised if it wasn't Sherwood or Shearer from the start.

The only thing he said was he believes Sherwood may have been using us and we all thought that at some stage to be fair.

Besides, Sherwood aint even in the door yet. Let's see if they can pull it off.

I'd be pretty happy with Sherwood, certainly seems the better option of the former players brigade. I would still prefer Holloway, but Sherwood would bring the sort of unity between the team, fans and management that we haven't had for ages.

Not really. He said Sherwood was the first choice and failing that we would turn to Holloway.

If this is true about Sherwood I can't help getting that sinking feeling that our promotion hopes are fast disappearing. I just can't see a novice manager taking on this job and succeeding. Too much to learn in such a short space of time and must be successful from the off.

I dunno about that Gally. It all comes down to results. There are enough rovers fans who would jump on him if things didn't go well, - he wasn't the most popular player we've ever had. I thought he developed into an excellent player at Ewood, brilliant positional sense and scored some vital goals for us, but a large section of the fans never took to him. Will he do well? The Venky's dont know, I don't know, no-one knows.

Experience is overrated in Venky's book. Have they hired ANYONE qualified for the position they currently hold?

Making a bit-part coach at Tottenham our manager will be right up their street.

Not necessarily.

As a freelancer, if he doesn't fabricate a story, he doesn't get paid.

So expect a new man or new 'development' few lines each day...

Not just that but paying top bank for a coach, again.

Fair enough he's not Kean and I remember Sherwood with fondness but gambling promotion along with all the debts we will have if we don't get it is insanity and unnecessary.

It could end up that Burnley end up with a more experienced manager than us, and cheaper. Life on Planet Venkys.

i think this team will struggle to get an automatic promotion regardless of who the new manager is(play-offs are prob are best chance), yes we have a few exceptional young attacking players but but the rest of the team just range from poor-average.

Then why on earth did you start in the first place?

Start what?(actually please don't bother answering that), yawn!!!!!!.

bedtime for me.

But he will bring in is own back room staff to help and harry may only be a phone call away for advice.

Of the ex players I would of gone for Grayson, has done pretty well at all three clubs he has managed, knows Rhodes well, good eye for players..

But won't complain about Sherwood, deserves a chance even if it is a stupid and incredibly risky option.

Whoever is appointed faces a huge task to get us up this season.

You only need to see what happened to WHAM last season despite having a much better squad than ours and a proven, experienced manager.

I think that most of the fancied runners would give the whole club a huge lift and I would hope that the extra adrenaline, plus the bits of flair we have in the squad, would be enough to get us a good points return from the next few games whilst the new man gets to work on shape and structure.

If, as looks very likely, we have a new man for Saturday, it might just about be in the nick of time to keep our hopes alive.

Whoever the new manager is he's not going to be everybody's choice. But like him or not get behind him and the team or stay away!

Exactly !

Some incredibly churlish remarks on here about Sherwood already and he hasn't even been appointed yet.

I freely admit he wouldnt be my number one choice but if appointed Ill be 100% behind him.

I hope everyone else would be of the same mind and that the bad feeling that has enveloped the club since Kean was appointed might disappear.

It's a risk to pick someone so inexperienced, granted. The thing about being in the division we are now is that even top names that would appear to be safe bets still have question marks over them because of the way Championship football is different from the game at the top level (I'm amazed and happy that the likes of Schuster are interested, but even they are untested at this level). If we have to take a risk, Sherwood is one that seems a little more sense than others (I'm thinking mainly about Shearer).

You're right about him not being the most popular, I remember him getting some stick from a few of our fans even as a pundit for Setanta a few years ago. That said I think the fans would give him a better chance than most, Tim Sherwood's blue and white army's got a ring to it!
