Tend to agree. Rather than pay 4m or whatever the figure is to release Sherwood from his contract it would make more sense imo to offer Guardiola/Redknapp/Dalglish/ etc a deal until the end of the season with a 4m bonus on top of their basic if they achieve promotion.

Unbelievable that Eric Black will be in charge again against Derby. The "structure" at the club (I hesitate to use the word structure because I'm not sure there is one) is an absolute joke. Shebby has had 3 Championship games + international break to secure a new manager and has come back with absolutely nothing, as expected. Even if he does land a decent appointment now it's too late to be considered a job well done. The new manager has to come in, introduce himself to the players, assess the squad, start to implement his style of play... etc etc. This is why ideally you get somebody in ASAP rather than Kean about for weeks on end apparently doing little or nothing.

What self-respecting manager would really want to work under such imbeciles? It must be a huge, huge concern for whoever comes in. I mean, there have been stupid owners in the past... but Venky's take the award for dumbest owners of a football club by far, surely? I can't even think of a comparative situation. There may have been worse owners than Venky's in terms of sucking a club dry, selling players, etc... but in terms of stupidity these clowns are in a league of their own. I can't even express how much I hate the fact they own our club.

A young lad who played for me in his early teens moved back to London and was on West Hams books for a while, he is friendly with many London based players of his age, he tells me Sherwood is a brilliant coach, great man management and knows when to put an arm round the shoulder or a kick up the backside, doesnt hold grudges and produces and improves footballers, further to which, he is tactically very aware and has a bit of fire in his belly too.

That for me is the kind of manager we need right now, he wont take any prisoners, be it Venkys, Shebby or the players, he will tell it like it is, with any manager its a risk, even Holloway!

Jesus, man, have you seen me specifically singling out anyone and directly saying "damn you, you're a racist!" Plus I was referring to Judan Ali being Indian, which is of the same race as the Venkys, so I was expecting (jokingly of course in case some people still don't get it) someone to disapprove of him because of that, and not because the guy was being racist. The joke was a more of a reference to anti-Venkys, not anti-Indian. If the guy had been black or Chinese, and someone said "anyone but that black/Chinese chap", I wouldn't be saying anything......well, if the poor chap was black, I probably would have said "I knew Eric Black left a dark stigma on the club" or something like that.

Now that I think about it, this overreaction to a single joke is symptomatic of how the messageboard has been over-reacting to every little thing. Come on, look at what's going on. Judan Ali gets linked and it goes to hell "VENKYS ARE GOING FOR THE CHEAP OPTION, I KNEW THEY WILL PULL A PUBLICITY STUNT LIKE THIS!" but everyone promptly forgets all that condemnation when it appears highly unlikely he'll get it. Sherwood gets linked and some people go "inexperienced manager, surely Shebby Singh wants to pull his strings!", or Karl Robinson - "did you see his last game against Preston? NOOO! I DON'T WANT HIM!" or if it was Eric Black "VENKYS HAVEN'T LEARNED AT ALL! THEY ARE DELIBRATELY DOING THIS TO ALIENATE THE FANS!" Or now that it has been 3 weeks since Kean resigned, "WHY ARE THEY TAKING SO LONG?! They're waiting this long so that they can eventually appoint Eric Black, that's definitely it!" And while some people are happy with Ian Holloway, there are still people whining "his record before Blackpool is horrible! McCarthy is obviously so much better!"

I think it's better to save part 3 for when we actually get a new manager (or confirm that Black is the next permanent manager) or we'll have another 100 plus pages of people disagreeing with each other on who should be manager and who shouldn't.

Maybe we should seprate the threads - one for "who do you think should be manager" where people can argue for or against their preferred/hated candidate and one for "Next Manager" where the ITK can post their inside information and everything.

Nope, it isn't. Which is why I'm not condemning anyone or anything. But I believe it's time for everyone to calm down, take a break and return once a new manager is elected. We aren't going anywhere if we continue to be at each others' throats over who the new manager should or should not be.
