  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

Recommended Posts

If not your mate owes you one rather expensive dinner. Tell them to get the champers on ice.

We've told him our preferred choice is Northcote !

Hope for his sake (and Rovers' supporters) he's right otherwise his missus will not be chuffed !

From past experience of this lot in charge,a question we should all be asking.......

http://www.football3...-Manager-Is-Key-

I agree with most of this article. The fact of the matter is Holloway could have already landed if it hadn't been for some pesky meddling. No names required. Surely the time has come to move on from the Sherwood scenario and onto the next man on the list?

As desperate as it seems, will we ever have another manager again?!

Shebby Singh needs to realise that he's had his chance with Sherwood, almost 2 months if you believe some articles and yet here we are, still rudderless, still not moving forward, still wasting time.

In a funny way, this situation reminds me of last night during the England washout. The stadium has a roof, why not use it and if you're not using it, why can't somebody do something about the pitch!? Like try and push the water off it, for example. The referee who kept coming out onto the pitch reminded me of Singh himself, procrastinating unnecessarily whilst so many fans waited for the inevitable decision.

Hmmmm......

Nope, it isn't. Which is why I'm not condemning anyone or anything. But I believe it's time for everyone to calm down, take a break and return once a new manager is elected. We aren't going anywhere if we continue to be at each others' throats over who the new manager should or should not be.

It's just a debate....."Curbishley would be a good choice"......."yea but has he been out of the game for too long" etc etc....nothing wrong with that.....I like finding out other people's viewpoints and people know more about certain managers/clubs than others.

The only messages that we could do without are "I can't believe some fans are stupid enough to etc etc"......or the same guy slagging off Shebby Singh 10 times a day.

And then the standard tedious posts from a select few on here.

Nobody is really at each other's throats.....at least I certainly don't see it like that.

We're in the Championship and have arguably the worst owners in England.......so we don't have any outstanding candidates.....therefore each potential manager will have weaknesses and people like to point out these weaknesses, plus some see certain weaknesses as more significant than others....so there will always be plenty of disagreements with a thread like this.

A young lad who played for me in his early teens moved back to London and was on West Hams books for a while, he is friendly with many London based players of his age, he tells me Sherwood is a brilliant coach, great man management and knows when to put an arm round the shoulder or a kick up the backside, doesnt hold grudges and produces and improves footballers, further to which, he is tactically very aware and has a bit of fire in his belly too.

That for me is the kind of manager we need right now, he wont take any prisoners, be it Venkys, Shebby or the players, he will tell it like it is, with any manager its a risk, even Holloway!

Very good post.

Just to play devils advocate for a minute though, if Sherwood is THAT good, I keep wondering why Spurs didn't simply appoint him when 'Arry left. Would have been a lot cheaper than AVB as well presumably.

What I sense from most, if not all posters, is a sense of disappointment, more so than frustration. Getting rid of Kean was supposed to herald the return to what is normal, to a more comfortable existence as a Rovers fan where we can relax once again without fearing Venky's next decision (or lack of one).

We've all be badly let down and that frustration seems to be boiling over. It all comes down to one man - Shebby Singh. His dithering and his ego have really slowed down the process here. I get the impression from ITK's that Venky's were desperate to get the fans back onside after Kean left, even if he did resign.

The best thing that Mr. Singh could do is approach his search for a manager much more swiftly and with direction and purpose. Sadly, I fear the worst until Venky's have left the club even though I was willing to give them another chance after Kean. Shebby, Shebby, Shebby....tut...tut.....mumble....tut

Just spoken to a Spurs fan I know and he says Sherwood is very much the future of Spurs and was almost appointed to replace AVB when they started the season slowly. He reckons when AVB runs out of lives, Sherwood will be his definite successor.

This is a BIG appointment we can afford to wait and get this right.

Hopefully not to long a wait though, want to book my flights for the European cup competition that we will be playing in 2015 according to the owners/ advisors /ex owners / ex advisors / etc. Hope they appoint a manager with experience in Europe so the "plan" can come to fruition

He's saying that Shebby wants Sherwood and Shaw wants Holloway and they can't agree. I kind of guessed that was the case with Shebby's love of Tottingham and Shaw's Northern roots.

And there's another one who they met on Monday. He wrote "aye aye" which seemed like a hint after it, whatever that means.

He seems to think if we went for Holloway we'd have a good chance of him saying yarp.
