I am pretty sure that Nicko is referring to Simon Grayson.

Thanks to the BRFCS poster (who will remain secret for now) for the tip/detective work!

Ok. Fair enough.

I was never a fan of 3-2-1 with Ted Rogers and Dusty Bin, but how do you get from the clue "aye aye" to Simon Grayson ?!

Grayson is part of the process that the LT mentioned this morning that everyone on the shortlist would be talked to.

Ha ha I have no idea about the "aye, aye" clue!

Ha! Don't worry Kamy, neither did Ted Rogers, he just made it all up on the spot. The twisted git.

Anyway, I take it Huddersfield are quite happy for us to speak to their manager ?

If Grayson has spoken with Rovers. I would think Hoyle will go ape - doesn't suffer fools gladly.

I don't think the "aye, aye" was a clue at all ! Nicko was just responding to a question.

Was he?

Nickos straight out of the Ted Rogers mould. Laying crappy clues. I expect it'll all be made clear in The Sunday People when he claims to have first broken the story on 17th October by saying "aye, aye" and the ridiculously tenuous link that he'll then unravel. I may give it a miss.

Holloway and Grayson are both managerial proteges of the man Oyston. In both cases they were the cheap option, as is always the case with him, but you can't call his judgment. Mind you he also gave Hendry his first managerial job under the same circumstances.

Holloway, Sherwood, Grayson and Solskjaer could all do a good job at Rovers, as could some of the more exotic and experienced names, but they seem to be off the radar.

Kamy sorry have not been on much is it true Spurs refused permission for us to speak to Sherwood?.

saw it on ssn today as usual it was one of those "sky sources understands".

Kamy can you please explain to me why we are going for people like Grayson & Keith Hill when people like Schuster & Clemente are still available.

I'm with you......"he answered 'yes' to a question"....."maybe that means we're after another yes-man".

He's Scottish isn't he, and 'aye' is a pretty common thing to say for a Scot.

Some interesting comments regarding Grayson.....

"Grayson had a real problem during his time here organising any kind of defence. The foundation of any football club has to be a good defence and we would never have won anything leaking goals the way we did under Grayson. Neither do I suggest that throwing money at it will solve the problem, our defenders did not become bad defenders as soon as they joined the club, the coaching and tactics were at fault!

He's doing a very good job at H'field though and if I remember correctly, the first season or two he had with Leeds were good.....maybe it just went a la Souness and us.

We could do worse than Grayson. He was absolutely awful as a player at Ewood, possibly a worse right back than that little French guy Hodgson signed ( not Perez ) and that's saying something. He could possibly be the worst right back I've ever seen play for the club in 50 years. Having said that his career has a manager has been pretty reasonable.

Patrick Valery ? He moved to Southampton last I heard.

Grayson had a rough shunt at Rovers (treated very shabbily) ...........after an impressive enough debut season he was sidelined and couldn't get a 1st team game.

It was rumoured that further game time would trigger a further add-on payment to his former club.

He had a succession of short loans after seeming complete inactivity at Ewood before restoring his playing career (and commenced his managerial career) at Blackpool

He would be entitled to have a poor impression of the way he was treated by the then Rovers admin regime.

Given the above, I would be surprised he would return, but time, as they say, is a good healer.

Grayson certainly wouldn't get me bashing down the ticket office door

This is getting like a boring soap opera storyline. You know, like when you catch 5 minutes of the wifes favourite soap twice over a 6 month period and the mystery whodunnit storyline has still to come to a climax and is being dragged out in painfully boring detail

I've always seen Grayson as a manager who gets to the edge of promotion or the playoffs, but just doesn't have that extra bit of something to get him over the line. He's very much a Championship manager and I would be hugely underwhelmed if he were chosen to lead us back to the Premiership.

Quite right Bob. He lives in a leafy suburb outside of Southampton where they all speak cockney and love Danny Dyer. Now don't get lemon me ol son!!!

"Merde, I was well off my manor!!"

Anyway, back on topic and some posts have been removed for referring to dusty bin, danny dyer and Southampton. Apologies.
