Still hearing (from a player) that Sherwood episode closed and all out for Holloway.

Also hearing that its probably even more shambolic behind the scenes since the appointment of the Global Advisor.

Noticeable deafening silence from those with a direct link to SS or those making 10 hour phone calls................

Glen Mullan tweeted that we have an offer on the table and if the manager in question does not accept it, we'll move on to the next candidate. Kind of surprised no one is quoting Glen's tweets here this time round.

I would have done but I do bother anymore to stop GM getting abuse from certain people.

hearing that Shebby, Shaw and Agnew are meeting today to discuss what we do next or who to go for.

Spoke with a couple of Blackpool supporters earlier today and they really fear they will lose Holloway, if we make a move.

In their opinion:

  • He's been unsettled recently, maybe lost a bit of focus, as 3 points from last 4 games might confirm.
  • Contractually, Oyston has not got Holloway tied down as tight as he would like (alleged release clause not punitive) and fears a call from Ewood.
  • Forget what you read in 'The Gaz', Holloway is a pretty shrewd cookie and knows how to 'play the game'

Looks like the ball could be in our court !

Think we need to play.

Agreed, about we should be in for Holloway

It seems Shebby has broken all the rackets and will only play with Tim Sherwood.

The interesting thing about The Gaz is that there's nothing in there but speculation on the reporters part. No quotes. The resident journo there is obviously a fan.

At the end of the day we won't get Holloway if we don't ask and I don't think Shebby is a fan.

Surely if holloway is there for the taking they should be all over it...seems to have developed into a very good manager, good man manager, plays good football, gets the best out of players, creates great team spirit...all of which we are missing at the minute!! If its true that its Shebby blocking it then maybe all the talk of him wanting a puppet will start to add up...surely he wants to appoint the right man, a successful manager will make him look a success which is surely what he wants!

I think it's fairly clear that the job is Sherwood's if he wants it. I'm not convinced that another manager with no actual managerial experience is the way to go, especially when he won't have a backroom entourage set up (as Hughes has) is unlikely to know who he wants as his backroom staff (like Ince).

It's baffling as to why things haven't moved quicker if Sherwood is the man, although I find most things involving the club baffling nowadays.

Holloway fancies himself as something of a comedian so he would fit in well with the other clowns in our boardroom. Still doesn't add up though when you compare Holloway's record to that of McCarthy. The former has achieved one promotion from the championship and was relegated the next season while McCarthy has achieved two promotions and managed to keep clubs in the Premier League. Holloway's teams have more flair but leak goals like Steve Kean's. Seemingly a likeable chap but other than that the enthusiasm for Holloway on here makes little sense.

Will Watt is a Blackpool fan indeed. The silence from Holloway is deafening.

I'm not sure I see the point of asking for applications and drawing up shortlists and assuring the media that they're surprised at the calibre of the applicants, and specifically mentioning international managers, if all that happens is Shebby Singh persists in continuing his obsession with Tim Sherwood, an obsession that predates Kean leaving or any recruitment process. And with no progress in getting Sherwood after weeks of trying to the detriment of the club. You could join the conspiracy theorists in saying that it's all a smokescreen to gain time, but if so then Singh is laying himself open to many awkward questions from the media somewhere down the line.

Shebby Singh is an enigma, and that's putting it politely.

Have you asked him if he's funny? He's hilarious, of course, but he hates the reputation himself. He just sees it as honesty. I'd say he's a modern world Brian Clough in all but success ;)

I agree, a friend of mate who is 'outside the bubble' as it were (he supports Chelsea) think it's laughable our fans want Holloway and he can't understand it, he thinks he's a moron.

I must say I feel the love for him is coming from two areas. Firstly he's not Steve Kean or Erick Black and secondly he was a media favourite when in the PL and as a reputation for playing "exciting" (but not winning) football. But as you say his record as a manager isn't that great.

You could argue that McCarthy had more money to spend at Wolves than Holloway has ever done.

Let's face it Holloway has worked miracles at Blackpool on buttons.
