  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

Recommended Posts

Why? Okay. Why? Why? Probably. And why?

Or just answer this? Why would you have someone who is an entirely unknown quantity over two people who have promoted teams in the past. One of which has promoted a team with very little finances, had his squad depleted then almost did it again. And he's only had one bad season in his managerial career.

Not having a go, I'm just wondering how Shebby and all the other people who want Sherwood know that it's the right thing to do. Psychic powers or just a stab in the dark? It's just that I prefer to go off statistics, facts and evidence and I'm totally baffled by why appointing a total novice when we're up Kean's creek if we don't get promoted, is the right thing for the club.

This makes complete sense.

You would have thought our fans would have learned from the two times we gave chances to inexperienced managers lately (Hughes had managed Wales for five years).

I don't know if this has already been posted, earlier today Shebby told ESPN:

"Spurs have rejected our request to approach Tim Sherwood - we have been told no.

"Eric Black will be in charge of our team at the weekend, as we have made it clear from the outset that we will not be rushed into a decision. That remains the case.

"We do have a shortlist and we are speaking to other people as well, but as for specific names such as Alan Shearer I cannot say anything.

"We shall carry on in a professional manner without any timeline or being forced by any outside influences to rush into an appointment."

My translation, I am a spoiled little brat who was bullied as a child and I can not take being told no. So I need time to put together an offer that Spurs will accept ( and laff their keans off at my stupidity) paying over the odds for another inexperience manager who will fail but we will keep in our employ for two more years. The others? yes there are some decent managers but I want the inexperienced one.

This is way beyond a feckin joke now. Get Holloway in and let's enjoy the rest of our season, failing that someone please buy our club off these clowns.

If holloway did decide to come here, it would clearly be 100% for the money, does that not bother anybody anymore!

p.s. yes i know money is the key motivation behind most things in football but when its the main(or only) motivation it has been proven time and time again to pretty much be a disaster.

And the others would not be?? ANother attempt to smear Holloway before we have even offered it to him.

Let me introduce you to the next Rovers manager, reading his cv he fits the Kean job description perfectly.

A 39-year-old current focusing on obtaining his coaching qualifications.

Candidate Quote

I left home at 15 and told my parents Arsenal had offered me accommodation.

“Arsenal hadn’t offered me anywhere to stay, but I knew telling my parents that would keep them happy, then I had to a chance try and make a career out of football.

Candidate Quote.

“Then I started to send letters out under aliases, saying I had been at Arsenal as a YTS and I was getting invites from Carlisle to Plymouth to come and train.

According to bookmakers Judan Ali is a surer bet to become the next Blackburn Rovers boss than Harry Redknapp, Alex McLeish or Jurgen Klinsmann.

That statement is for one person and one person only, Sherwood. Dangling Shearer's name in there will be no coincidence (if I remember rightly they fell out over the Sutton/Flowers incident).

An official approach is the very last thing that happens in any transfer of player/manager, so this indicates Tim wants to come and has told Shebby as much. If I was him I would want reassurances from the idiots in Pune.

Yeah it's a fair assumption to say this is currently the stumbling block. In my humble opinion, Sherwood won't fly to see them, they won't come here.

The sooner they leave our club the better, it has been a disaster, with the Trust and the FA both implicated, they should be ashamed at what has happened to one of the best football clubs in the world

It's heading for the Black/Singh dream team for me, Black fronting the operation and the Malaysian TV pundit working in the background.

As soon as Kean went we came back, as did 4-5k other protestors, but if Singh is anywhere near the managerial setup we'll be protesting again and the club will lose our support once more.

Something bugging me about Holloway , yes he has done a remarkable job at Blackpool ,...

With Rovers , Bolton and Burnley all wanting managers (other clubs during the summer) why is he still at Blackpool ? ?

All the 3 local clubs have bigger potential then Blackpool ...

It is just an observation ,,Personally I think he has found his place and it won't be replicated anywhere else .

Just want to say thanks for those people who keep posting - especially those who keep hunting for links - and giving the rest us something to read.

I genuinely don't know how you find the strength!

I'm going to throw another name in the ring now. Another ex player who is making his first steps in management an has been highly regarded. billy McKinley is reserve team manager at Fulham and is very highly rated by Fulham fans. Spoke to a colleague yesterday who is a Fulham ST holder and he's amazed that nobody has come in for McKinley.

It's a little useless just throwing names into the ring though. It may provoke discussion to an extent but the discussion has to be worthwhile. And as Billy McKinley will not be getting the job (Venky's will after all not even be aware of him) but all we'll have is a few pages (at best) of debate on whether people would have him or not based on very, very little actual evidence (as nobody here will really know whether or not he is good enough, and of course you'll get plenty on here who are willing to pretend to be an insider, thus making their opinion on such a niche area 'gospel', even though it is based on nothing) and you'll just end up with some bizarrely contorted, ultimately useless discussion that people don't have the patience for which will simply end with the usual frustration and Venky bashing (which is often correct) that rises when people run out of things to say.

I find it humourous that the lack of action at Rovers, combined with the lack of too much reliable information that comes to the fans leads to a decent percentage of the anger that is found on here. So much is generated through the peddling on here and it feeds itself. People are rightly annoyed at the position the club finds itself in, but what really annoys them, or what really angers them rather than straight up depresses them is that it reminds them how powerless they are (which has always been the case), and in the 24hour football news age, this is frankly unbearable for the idiots.

I cant take any link to Holloway being a Rovers manager seriously, I remember an interview with him which basically he laughed about our owners calling it lunacy or something like that.

I would however take him in a heartbeat, there are a few reasons why, he has experience of this league, the prem league and the biggest reason of all would be that he would pick the team himself, play the way he wanted and would give honest talks to the press, he would'nt stand for anyone else interfering.

If Holloway was to be appointed it would show the owners are ready to learn, ready to take a back seat and let the football men make the football decisions, if we appoint a Shearer or Sherwood (although im not saying they would roll over and be puppets) they would be easier to manipulate due to their lack of managerial experience.

It does seem at the minute we have replaced idiot owners for another idiot in shebby who seems to want to inflate his own ego with a name rather than a manager, what I would give for just some common sense in our club for once.

Don't want him anywhere near the club, his conduct in the last 12 months of his time here was disgusting, keanesq, no thanks.

There may be other examples but I don't agree about Sherwood or Shearer being manipulated. They have more pride and bigger reputations to lose than to do Kean.

maybe right there Gav ..if anyone thinks Singh is here for the good of the club or the fans dream on cos he isn't WTF is a so called global advisor doing down Brockhall in training kit and muddy boots if he isn't meddling in team affairs IMO any manager who woyuld put up with that is a puppet or an highly paid idiot who sells his soul..no manager worth his salt would entertain Shebby , hence lies a major problem doesn't look like Sherwood suffers fools easily .. remember the Hodgson situation at Ewood ?? Can anyone see the controversial outspoken Holloway putting up with Shebby either ? neither can I....

You just can't help yourself can you? Do you see yourself as some sort of super fan? Quick to dish out the "idiot" tag - lest we forget you're the guy who supported Kean and had an avatar of Desai ?!

You're right, we are relatively powerless and always have been. What you struggle to comprehend for some reason is that the club is being run incredibly badly. I don't need Millie Clode to tell me that 24 hours a day (although if she wants to nip round...) it's blindingly obvious.

Previously the club has been skint, not enough money for a brew and all that - I can tell you now though that we'd have had a new manager in 2.5 weeks after the other walked out (or 25 days after a press release was nearly released confirming his sacking), there really are no excuses. Are we going to "break" Danny Levy? Is Sherwood going to quit? Are the owners prepared to fly to London and meet Sherwood on the QT? If the answer is "No" then what are they waiting for? Move on to Option B. We need a new manager to get the club going again, we need promotion.

So what is "unbearable for the idiots" is the thought that they are and will make a complete pigs ear of this appointment. After all the longer this goes on the greater potential to mess it up - and let's be honest, they're Wold Champions at making bad decisions. And you find it humourous?
