  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

Recommended Posts

To be fair he's had some stick for trying to talk about it. I can understand why he's keeping quiet.

its a great shame that GM has got stick for talking about rovers and things that were going on.

he has great contacts at BRFC and have good info.

its a shame that he's not sharing his info with the majority of rovers fans tho, but totally understand why cos of the abuse he got for communicate some info he had.

In other words, just believe any old sh*t because it shines Venky's in bad light.

If you'd read what philipl has put in his last few posts he doesn't even seem to know whether he's stating fact or rumour himself. The Rijkaard "fact" came from other posters. Honestly, Mercer - do a simple search in this thread and tell me what you get. Nothing is the answer.

All I'm asking for is for him to not state things as fact when they're clearly not. Is that "badgering"?

I don't believe any old sh*t !

I think it is best to read and form an opinion, as you have done. If you agree fine, if you don't agree equally fine and if you have an alternative opinion even better !

I just don't get why folk get so hung-up about wanting to know where the information comes from because if the poster wanted you to know or didn't think there was a risk in you letting knowing, then surely they would.

At the end of the day, this is a typical MB and you just have to trust your own judgement as to whether something might be right or is just a load of old cobblers.

Oh dear, hope that this is sadly wrong:

Simon Fish@SimonJohnFish

Hearing rumours that Billy McKinlay has the Rovers job. Anyone else heard this? #brfc

IMO, not the type of person Rovers need - I thought he was a disgrace in his last 12 months with Rovers.

was he not linked a while back to assistants job whilst kean was still here ???

Back on topic - Alot of people aren't enamored with Simon Grayson or Karl Robinson but they would both do a good job.

Simon Grayson's record is excellent when examined closely - three promotions from three different league 1 clubs. Promoted and kept Blackpool up which laid the foundations for Holloway's success, promoted a Ken Bates funded(sic) Leeds and then finished 7th with them and was sacked with them in a better position than they are today and then got promoted again with Huddersfield who are higher than us now.

Karl Robinson has finished 5th with MK Dons two seasons running which is around about par for them but is no disgrace considering there are quite a few bigger clubs than them in League 1. Big Sam rated him highly enough to retain him when he came to the club, knows the club set up and is respected by the players(no Givet wall pinning expected). He is also forward thinking with all the Sports Science ProZone stuff that extends beyond 'penalty box entries.'

I am more worried about names such as Billy McKinlay who would retain all our current staff and might as well just be Steve Kean.

+100.

great post. agree with your comments on Grayson and Robinson.

Also would expect maybe Billy McKinaly to come in as coach somewhere on the coaching staff.

IMO Venky's want a manager they can control , someone who wont ask questions , someone who wont say where venkys are going wrong , a yes man as some have put it , thats why they want a young up and coming manager or one from the lower leagues , because they'll just be grateful to be at a club like Rovers its not about success for the club , its about their arrogance and not wanting somebody else telling them they're wrong

Hmmm.

Northern Rover@Northern_Rover

Who knows IF owners are over for Derby game then they might accidentally bump into Mr Sherwood at a certain restaurant and talk abt weather!

Sherwood has clearly been the only runner in town, would appear the barrier of meeting the owners is about to be over come. Can we send in body doubles to replace the chuckle brothers?

The funny thing is it is highly possible if they did meet Sherwood in a restaurant they would probably spend the duration of the meeting asking him what the weather in london is like...

It's clear to me there are two people in the running. Tim Sherwood and Eric Black.

Black being most cost effective - Mrs D's choice.

Sherwood being Shebby's choice.

I personally wouldn't choose either but we are obviously wanting to appoint on the cheap again, hence the reason we haven't been given permission to speak to Sherwood and are at something of a stalemate. Two good results in a row (whilst we drag our feet) and Black will steal a march and will get the job until the end of the season. No evidence and all guesswork - but based on what we know about the habits of these people.

Nightmare scenario is that whoever comes in is told they have to keep Black/Hendry etc and not bring in their own staff.

where is this from? I
