why back Sherwood who has never been a manager but wont back Karl Robinson who has 3 years experience as a MANAGER?????!!!!!!

Why because Sherwood has done it and continues to perform at that higher level, hopefully that we all aspire to be at, whilst Robinson is at the lower end of the market never having achieved anything at this higher level.

Maybe Sherwood will bring in a few new quality players that will instantly improve the teams chances rather than Robinson who will probably be looking at some lower level nomads that will take years to develop.

maybe i have an agenda in as much that i want a sexy name, robinson wont bring any passion back for the supporters or instill any excitement, after 2 years of drabness, i want someone who i can feel the butterflies for when i walk into ewood, i remember souey's first game at ewood, i couldnt wait to get in to see him on our touchline.

Sherwood has been a coach at Spurs since 31th October 2008. since Redknapp took over as manager, so had nothing to do with Glenn Hoodle at all.

Robinson has been coach at Liverpool youth Academy since 2007. then been a coach at Mk Dons and Rovers under Ince plus Sam Allardyce keep him on as First team coach when he took over manager in December 2008. Then went to be number 2 to Ince at Mk dons before becoming manager of MK Dons 2 and half years ago.

How as he had more resources then clubs like Norwich, Southampton and Peterbrough 2 seasons ago and last season like Charlton Athletic, Sheff Wed and Huddersfield town last season, Who all got promoted in those seasons. I DONT THINK SO!!!!!!!!!!

Karl Robinson has over achieved on a tight budget at MK dons. simple as!

He's "technical coordinator" (whatever that means) and from the sounds of it has very much a 'jobs for the boys' role at Tottenham.

If not for him being an ex-player, you wouldn't give two keans about him managing us.

Chaddy, your point is valid but the Rovers job is far more complicated than most at the moment. Robinson is without doubt a very promising young manager. I'm not disputing that. But the powers that be at Rovers need to appoint somebody to get the fans back on side. One simple action at this stage would go a long way towards doing that - appoint a manager who has got experience at getting out of this division and also has the personality to suggest he won't be another 'yes man'. With yet more rumours of Singh influencing team selection and recruitment, Robinson would be seen as a coach brought in to make the best out of what he is given. Would you feel the same if say Souness got the gig? No chance. You'd feel confident that he was the man calling the shots. Why? Because he wouldn't suffer it any other way. This appointment is as much about finding a manager who's very presence would dispel most of the gossip and conspiracies, as it is about finding a manager with the required level of ability.

Over achieved??? How?????

He's done naff all, happens to have a pretty decent side there too. Lack of resource? What?they signed Jimmy Bullard this season for a final pay day, how many clubs in league one have signed former premier league players this season.

He's ok, but why on earth did he leave us to join Ince again in league one? He could have learned so much sticking around with allardyce could he not?

One phrase springs to mind, lack of ambition, it's the only reason you leave a coaching role at the top division with a top manager to take the same role on league one with a kean manager.

He fell into the managers role at MK, much like our last manager did.

how do you know KR would be a 'yes man'??? no dont simple as.

How do you know he wouldn't? It's not as if Rovers appointing a yes man for a manager would be a shock now, would it. Relatively inexperienced (compared to Mick McCarthy), coming from lower league, would be enthusiastic and appreciative to have been given the chance.

Sounds like the sort of profile they would want if they wanted a yes man. Easier to manipulate because he doesn't have the track record that would guarantee him another job if he just walked away.

And of course he'd be much cheaper. Given that we are allegedly sinking faster than the Titanic, that issue would come into play. The only real question is, what do these fruit loops want to do long term. Are they going to wait until the end of the season to decide whether to sell? Will they be malicious and run the club into the ground rather than sell for a loss? What about their various silly little schemes back in India that are built around making Rovers and Venky's a global brand?

I don't subscribe to the view that they are taking their time becase they are methoidical and want to get it right. I think they're total and utter bodgers who are so clumsy and arrogant, they can't help but fail.

I'm just counting the days until we get our club back. It's like a visitation from an unholy spirit come to wreak chaos and destruction. Maybe we need a young priest and an old priest. The power of Christ compels you.

I plan to check up every 50 pages, anything meaningful happened in the last 50 ?

I admire your strength of character, Tyrone. I'm going to try to emulate it.

If more of us did, then it wouldn't make a jot of difference to what is actually going to happen: it won't make it happen sooner; it won't cause it to be postponed; it won't affect who is appointed. All it will do is spare us from some people who want to try to impress the rest of us with what they want us to think they know and the rest of us analysing what they've posted.

C ya on Sunday, folks!

The outstanding candidate for the job, whether we like it or not, is, and still will be tomorrow, Mick McCarthy.

He'd get us up. That's all that matters short term. We bought Leon Best - 35k a week, 4 year contract. That's 10m quid. Danny Murphy - 2 years, similar wages. Gomes? Same again. How's our parachute payments looking now?

We need promotion.

McCarthy was the one to turn to. He turned Forest down apparently 'cause he didnt want someone on the bench who wouldn't add anything, and I don't mean a player. He's a proper manager. Exactly what our club needs.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be behind Tim, Olly, anyone. But I'll say it again, we surely must get promotion this season and delaying an appointment (with all due respect to Black, who is at least showing some humility, but isnt the man) will not help.

It's bloody frustrating. Nothing more, nothing less. Soon we will have a new manager in place, the speed it's been done is baffling as we all know. They may get it right, they may get it wrong, but they must make it happen one way or another in the next few days.

I think we all feel the same Bob. The club had a massive opportunity to allay the fears of all Rovers fans and yet again they have blown it! This was a chance to show everyone they had learnt from their mistakes by swiftly appointing an experienced manager with enough in his locker to get us up and keep us up. The owners (and i use that term begrudgingly) may well have a vision to make us the Arsenal of the north, but we need to learn to walk before we can run. This delay has just heightened the negative and suspicious feelings amongst the fans and now it feels as if whoever comes in now will have his work cut out to win over the crowd. Such a needless and wasted opportunity to capitalise on the initial euphoria of Kean resigning.

Worse still, if the new man doesn't manage to hit the required heights you just know the media sharks will come out with the 'should've kept Kean' comments. I honestly cannot express how sick i am of life under Venky's.

I dont understand this hatred to black? He is doing a job as temporary boss if we did not have him it would be even more of a shambles? He is honest in his interviews which makes a change and has done nothing wrong, he has even openly criticised keans tactics and team performances under kean really dont get it. I remember when kean was incharge everyone said anyone but kean we have that now WHOEVER the new manager is he will have my 100% backing as I support my team because I want them to do well.

I dont post often as dont really want to get involved in all the arguments, and i am not saying he is the perfect manager for us but i met Karl Robinson just before Ince left MK Dons second time and Robinson took over, he was very happy to stand and talk about Rovers and Big Sam who was still with us back then, he obviously left us as a coach to be assistant manager and must have known he was sure to get the manager post if Ince left so i dont see anything wrong with his ambition, he was a youth player for Everton but had a serious injury and turned to coaching at Liverpool and at only 34 i think he is now has worked with some big names was telling me about training with Gerrard and Fowler back at Liverpool and Roque and Benni with us, he knows what he is talking about and think would surprise some people here, sorry for the love in just seemed like a good guy and would not be devastated if he came here.

Would still prefer OGS or Holloway but given Venkys past choices may end up with the mascot in charge....

I'd agree. Decent bloke doing his best in very trying circumstances. He also has a solid CV so he is no impostor. Guilt by association I'm afraid, as a result of so many Rovers fans being consumed by hate and anger.
