  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

Recommended Posts

Ridiculous. Fans are entitled to be critical of some potential managers given the boast by Shebby of how many famous names were vying for the job. What makes you think we won't get Black anyway?

We will never do any good while Venkys own us and that's not the fault of the fans.

How do we "look bad"? You mean the media will continue to be on our backs? Who cares? All these famous managers who've applied clearly don't.

Keep the pressure up till the scandalously born sell up I say.

I posted this in the "when will venkys go thread" but it probably should have been in here

Coco compo is all about NDA and potentially huge. Mrs D apparently desperate to get the deal done.

I would suggest forgetting about a constructive dismissal case ever going to Tribunal.

Exactly, I have said before he does not have a leg to stand on for constructive dismisal

now picture this,

Dining room in the hills just outside Pune, the popadoms and chutney not quite finished and the telepgone rings, Mrs D answers

Mrs D "Hello Shebby what can I do for you?"

Shebby "Its the Shirley thing"

Mrs D "You want 2 mill in compo and another mill bonus for someone who has not even managed a footbal club!"

Shebby "Bhut, buht, buht"

Mrs D "and X mill payoff for my former Kean buddy, who you hounded out of the club against my wishes"

Shebby "Buht, buht, buht"

Mrs D "Get real Shebby"

Shebby "Buht, buht, buht"

Mrs D "You know as well as I do that we have someone in the club who has managed before and won't cost a rupee to hire"

Shebby "Buht, buht, buht"

Mrs D "Now Kean off the chicken jalfreizy has arrived"

Shebby "Buht, buht, buht"

Mrs D "Oh, and one last thing, stop wearing that ridiculous track suit, it makes you look like Brains on heat"

Shebby "Buht, buht, buht" click Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Philip I would say the tap is turned off,

International Rescue are probably the only ones that could save us now.

(disclaimer, I could be wrong, it might have been chicken biryani)

As Alan Partridge would say, " Oh you daft racist!"

I did, clearly. Even put it in picture form for you.

Regardless, if you can't look back over your little 1970's sitcom script and find fault with it, then God help us all...especially with what has gone on this week. I think the bhut, bhut, bhutting was the most cringeworthy part of it but if you are still struggling, have a look up on the internet about racial stereotyping and get back to me.

Anyway, back to the topic.

The next manager will definitely be appointed on the cheap, without a doubt. I imagine they will have to take onboard the existing set-up. Personally, I don't want Sherwood but will gladly accept Hollpoway, McCarthy, Grayson or anyone with proven pedigree. It doesn't matter who Sherwood has worked under because he isn't them. We've had it with Kidd who worked beneath the greatest manager ever, but was nowhere near good enough. We need promotion, desperately and should appoint the best man who could offer us that chance.

Sorry, can't see the picture, I also never watched Alan Partridge, If Shebby has a problem with it or the Venkys for that matter let them get in touch with me

Alan Partridge can go and swiffle on a digit,

Explain the racism

prepare for some completely idiotic post, really trying to force the issue of racism, it doesnt matter if its there or not, he´ll do his keaning best to distort in a way it fits his agenda. Making fun about an accent is never going to be racism, racism is believing your ethnic race is better then others. I certainly didnt see your post as racist, but you trying to point out, that you see shebby as tragicomic and a manwho is not fit for the job as global advisor. But for those who share the same genetics as kean, could probably misundertsand your post and percieve it as racism

In my opinion, there is a big difference between Sherwood and Kidd, Sherwood is a much stronger character and single minded, the problem is when you appoint a new manager, is the quality of the backroom team, you need really experienced guys in there and a 'good cop - bad cop' balance, in my opinion, we havent had that balance, OK Kean was a good cop until he fell out with a player, then he became the bad cop but continued to hold grudges, there should be no grudges, if, as is normal in football, there are spats or arguments, you get over it and move on, I played with players I hated during my time but when we were in a match situation, we would die for each other and thats how it should be. I understand the frustrations of many on here, Karl Robinson may be a fine coach and decent manager but as a club, we need a manager who can lift the club and its supporters, get the players playing together and for each other and be tactically aware along with a really good number 2 who together would ensure they are both mentally and physically ready for each game!

Personally, I have no issues with your posts and I'd rather hear more from you as you post things without spinning them.

This managerial appointment has now dragged on for so long that frustration levels are up to pre Kean leaving levels. I hope out turns out to be worth it in the end. Meanwhile, I'll wait and see what happens especially regarding some posts in other threads regarding Rovers future. I don't want to see Rovers go tits-up but it might be the only say to get owners who can actually appoint proper football men to run the club, including a decent manager.

Ivan,

This is not recently, its quite a while back, I just felt that if you posted what was heard, people were all to ready the berate the poster, my decision was to play things another way, read this messageboard, comment where applicable and any information I got, was passed on and verified. I dont want accolades, just want Rovers to be successful and all of us to be as one, club, players and supporters, unfortunately, I dont think this will ever happen with Venkys as owners, I just live in hope they will depart from our club as soon as possible.

Aww bless you.

No agenda from me, just pointing out to JT which era we live in and trying to understand how someone can't see the harm in some post-beer stereotyping of Indians and mocking their accents...and document it on a msg board. Rather him than me :tu:

Personally, it was the bhut, bhut, bhut part that I thought was cringeworthy and naive - hence the Alan quote.

Thought he was Malaysian, ho hum.

Shebby knows how to contact me if he wants to.

If you want cringeworthy look at what has happened to our club over the last 2 years, you need some focus

For me, we don't know what we'll get from him so it's a gamble. Sherwood could quite possibly be awesome but I feel the support from him is mainly because he is an ex-player without a jaded record (ala Shearer). I think that whilst there are proven managers on the market - who are available, we should opt for one of them. Unless we are waiting for Hughes to be sacked and quickly swoop in for him, I think that this period of waiting is absolutely ridiculous and worrying.

cant disagree with anything you write kelbo, but i have thought about this saga and the more it goes on, i just cant see the V´s nor shebby wanting a strong character as manager. Your description of how a manager should be - going into blasphemy mode accordign to some - sounds an awful lot like allardyce. why would they hire a strong and iron-willed manager, when they didnt think twice about sacking one.?

According to our global advisor, we have had numerous managers applying for the job and some of the names mentioned are really goood managers and easely fit the bill. Could you imagine having your own business, in desperate need of a proven, established and respected man/women within their area of expertise, applying for the job and after a month, you would be nowhere or even closer to hiring any of them.? This despite, that their job function is the absolute core of your business.?

i have absolutely no trust in these clowns and that goes for all of them, had they wanted a real manager, they would have been able to get one in by now. Prepare to be dissapointed, once again

How times have changed, a kid could sing Ba Ba Black sheep without the do gooders saying the black bit was racist, I have played sport with all nationalities, races and creeds, we had a laugh, even the black players would join in and have a laugh, Charlie Williams would be turning in his grave at this one, one lad, british, white but with more of a afro caribbean hairstyle, was often told by a black player to 'get back on your Jam Jar, we had great laughs but its gone too far, racism is when it becomes nasty and really personal but dont change a language to appease others, its our heritage, our language our culture, just as an Indian for example have their cultures.

Nightmare scenario is that whoever comes in is told they have to keep Black/Hendry etc and not bring in their own staff.

Just can't see that happening. As soon as the candidate hears that will be the moment he decides to terminate his interest and walks out of the interview.

It's clear to me there are two people in the running. Tim Sherwood and Eric Black.

Black being most cost effective - Mrs D's choice.

Sherwood being Shebby's choice.

I personally wouldn't choose either but we are obviously wanting to appoint on the cheap again, hence the reason we haven't been given permission to speak to Sherwood and are at something of a stalemate. Two good results in a row (whilst we drag our feet) and Black will steal a march and will get the job until the end of the season. No evidence and all guesswork - but based on what we know about the habits of these people.

Surely Mrs D realises that if she forces a "wrong for us" appointment the inevitable result will be a disaster for the team on the field, and a further and probably much bigger and longer/permanent boycotting by the fans. Is that what she really wants?

Thing is, she's clearly not bothered about what the fans think or BRFC,she's shown that time and again in her horrendous tenure.

IMO she hugely regrets buying us and wants to spend as little on the club as possible....

(at the risk of playing captain obvious!!!)

Message here to El Tombro,

I refrain from posting things on here which I have reason to believe are correct because people like yourself take it upon themselves to attempt to ridicule the poster, instead, if I have information, I pass it on to people who are able to verify if the information is correct, it is a shame because lots of arguments could be prevented by people such as myself posting what information I have, but I have over my time on here taken bits of stick because I cant reveal my sources, but sources are only good sources if they trust you, for you to reveal X,Y or Z gave you information, it would be the last time, they wouldnt trust you again.

I hope this clarifies the situation and that you may find it upon yourself to refrain from personal attacks on posters on here, it may at some time be to your advantage in that you would find out more!!

+10000000000000!!!!!!

I dont understand this hatred to black? He is doing a job as temporary boss if we did not have him it would be even more of a shambles? He is honest in his interviews which makes a change and has done nothing wrong, he has even openly criticised keans tactics and team performances under kean really dont get it. I remember when kean was incharge everyone said anyone but kean we have that now WHOEVER the new manager is he will have my 100% backing as I support my team because I want them to do well.

So it's ok for him to slag supporters off ? He's a tosser and #kean2

I'd agree. Decent bloke doing his best in very trying circumstances. He also has a solid CV so he is no impostor. Guilt by association I'm afraid, as a result of so many Rovers fans being consumed by hate and anger.

Decent blokes DON'T slag fans !

No one ever said the fiasco was the fault of the supporters, just saying we'll only made ourselves look bad if we continue to abuse managers. At this rate even McCarthy would have second thoughts coming here ("wow, they didn't even give Karl Robinson a chance, no way am I going there"). We're lucky people continue to apply for the job after Kean got sacked, but if we drive out Robinson again, the chances of anyone wanting to come near our club will drop to zero. And at that time we'll have to appoint from within, for example Eric Black.

Kean DIDN'T get sacked!
