Wonder what Venky's think of Sam now. Got WHAM up and now sitting proudly in 7th place in PL - roughly where he left us !

To be fair Allardyce is currently performing far better at West Ham than he ever did with us.

Our highest position under him was 10 th and that was only due to a late run and final day of the season win which lifted us up to that position.

When he was sacked I think we had just beaten Wolves which had lifted us up to 13th with 21 points from 17 games. We had also recently been whupped 7-1 to United and failed to beat 10 man Bolton.

All that said, the decision to sack him and replace him with Kean made no sense to most at the time and has since been proven to be an act of folly. Black seems even worse.

I guess we'll never know what might have happened had Venky's replaced Sam with a manager of similar experience who merely played a different style.

Most probably nothing because big Sam wouldn't have sanctioned £50m plus worth of talent to be flogged from his team for pure profit and then bring in a load of second raters.

Black needs to get out after tonight. I'm convinced that there is interference in the team selection (subs for example) from above but he still lacks any actual nous.

We need a strong willed manager though who has full control over all playing matters. Just can't see Shebby giving into that though.

We need a new manager who will bring in at least three to four new players( rw,cm,ch,rb) which if its Holloway and they are Blackpool player then that would be a NO-NO for me.

So if he brought Ince with him... ??!?

His radio interview earlier was lamenting his squad. Why the hell would he want to bring 3-4 players from Blackpool?

We can't bring players in until January even if there was funding available to do so.

IMO we need a manager in who will get the players playing individually to their best abilities and the team as a whole punching above their weight.

In the positions you've mentioned I think a good manager would be able to get a tune out of CKR or Vukcevic RW. Ditto midfield Etuhu/Murphy/Dunn. Ditto CB Givet/Dann/Hanley.

Possibly agree at RB but even then I've been reasonably impressed with Ribeiro on the rare occasions he's been given a chance.

No to Tom Ince?

Isnt he a left footer if he is we have a team full of these.

Does he fit the right winger role, central midfielder role, centre back role, or right back role ? If he doesnt fit any of these, then no, if he does then yes.

Said it on twitter but its time for Mr Singh to stop poncing around with self serving media interviews and get Holloway in Monday morning

What has been achieved by us taking so long over this?

So you wouldn't take Tom Ince...

It's all because of a power vacuum at Ewood, caused by lazy and careless ownership.

I guess Singh will win out over Shaw, so I would be very surprised if Holloway turns up in the manager's seat at Ewood any time soon.

Quite where this is going to end up, god knows. Sherwood won't come, Holloway isn't wanted, Black can't win. Presumably we will get some fudge of a decision, a manager like Robinson who'll be a yes man with a coaching staff picked by Singh.
