owen coyle!!!!!!

I think even Nicko had trouble getting that going. Raddy Antic was named in the Sun a few days ago from nowhere so perhaps a Serbian is going to be the next British Mourinho. Or Roy Keane - an Irishman.

Whoever they go for, the process has certainly been ridiculous.

Interesting about Robinson because he's one they all seem to agree on. Guess what? He's SEM.

I'm convinced there's more to these Olly rumours but "power struggle" is a bit over dramatic. Sounds to me more like Shebby has persuaded certain people we can do better. Problem with that is (if true) he now has to deliver better.

To be fair to him, he did exactly the same before when we eventually got Rhodes.

But as other people have said, Holloway won't wait around forever, and it'd be unfair to make him wait.

My dad was on a train with Owen Coyle earlier today and asked him the question...got an unequivocal no, and said he'd never work under venkys as it would be like world war 3 in his first week at training!

Nonsense

Morals is one thing but I imagine Coyle would jump at the chance to manage rovers once he got sight of the money on offer

I'm not doubting he said it but he probably just wanted to make himself feel a bit better

Famous name attached to Rovers, youngish manager, Premier league winner the same as Sherwood..

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

That photo can only bring me joy.

It's hard to believe it was almost 20 years ago.

Where we were then, with Uncle Jack and King Kenny....and now Venkys and Kean's relegation legacy.

God is punishing us, but for what, I do not know.

Just guessing with coyle hope I am wrong as just dont think he is the right man, cryer put on twitter earlier that robinson has not been spoken to and is not a target for rovers

who is this mystery man that is infront of ollie in the pecking order?

Nixon saying that Coyle would take the job, as would Holloway. He said Coyle would definitely get us up and Sherwood wouldn't be on his list.

Got to say I agree with him about Sherwood. Holloway is still my choice. I will be gutted if we get another poor manager when I'm pretty sure we could get IH.

So, Mrs D is God now

Holloway is no way high profile. Sherwood, Solskjaer would be. Sherwood would attract better players than Holloway. When Holloway comes on TV he sounds like a clown. Sherwood is serious and perceptive. He's worked with shrewd operators like Harry and Levy. He's nobody's fool.

Disagree with this in principle.

Managers have to be a lot more choosy than players when it comes to clubs to join.

A player can join a club in crisis, but as long as his own individual performances are still good he can maintain his reputation and still get a move to a bigger club afterwards even if the club doesn't do well.

However if a manager joins a club like Rovers where his potential to do well will be severely limited by the club structure, if the club doesnt do well and he gets fired, his future earning potential afterwards could be massively limited - particularly relevant for a young manager like Coyle.

Look at Sam. Before the Newcastle job he almost got the England job. After that he had six months in charge of a Newcastle side (very poorly run at that time) which had been four points from the drop at the end of the season before he joined. He was fired in Jan despite being nine points off the drop zone. He was branded a failure despite the fact he was only given six months in charge and did a pretty average if not great job there. His career hasn't really fully recovered since.

So even with the money offered Coyle may well not want to take the job. If he fails the only teams that would want him might be mid table Championship sides at best.

By the way I would not want Coyle at Ewood.

Disagree with that entirely.

Holloway's West Country accent does not disguise the fact that imo he is a very shrewd operator and excellent man manager.

Elsewhere no real surprise to see nicko now plugging the name of his best bud Coyle for the post. I would also be extremely sceptical about Andy Cryer's claim there is someone ahead of Holloway unless he is prepared to specify who that someone is.

Interesting that Bob Cass is reporting that Holloway is about to be offered the job. Having heard him on the radio a while ago describing his relationship with Alex Ferguson I think it's fair to say he's a very senior journalist who seems to command a fair amount of respect.

Ollie for me. Nixon and Coyle are lovers. Or is it just Nixon in love?

Coyle reminds me of Bruce. He can lift the spirit at first but is out of fuel when just half way travelled. Bolton must regret giving him more time instead of sacking him after the relegation. If it is Coyle or Black it´s Coyle.

One thing nagging me about Holloway. Throughout his career he has had to unearth gems, do things on the cheap. If this is the reason he is liked than that's not good.

Sherwood may cost more in compensation but it's safe to sat he would be bringing with him a higher quality of shortlist of players with him, this is probably why Levy is digging his heels in, he does not want to lose this.

Booth, You are wrong there.

His agent is Rob Segal. His company is Robert Segal Representations.

here Fifa list of agents with Rob Segal and his company name http://www.fifa.com/aboutfifa/organisation/footballgovernance/playeragents/letter=s.html

here a Skysports article where he naem his agent and Bentley http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11759/8169153/Karl-Robinson-rules-out-MK-Dons-move-for-David-Bentley

SO nothing to do with SEM!!!

The prospect of Ollie still really bothers me. It's a massive gamble. He will be under enormous pressure when finally let out of his Blackpool comfort zone. The fact we NEED to go up and have money to spend will put him under more pressure. Can he manage big players and big ego's? Maybe they will react to his methods the wrong way. IMO Ollie would work at 50% of clubs in the leagues and bomb at the other 50%. Massive gamble.

Coyle or McCarthy for me. You know what you're getting. McCarthy would be first choice.

Article is the Sunday People from Alan Nixon

Blackburn supremos Shebby Singh and managing director Derek Shaw are hopelessly split on who they want as their new boss.

Global advisor Singh wants to bring in a young manager and has put feelers out for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Gary Nevilie after failing to land Tim Sherwood who has ambitions at Tottenham.

Solskjaer is seeing out his contract with Molde in Norway, while Neville is tied up with media work and his England coaching job.

Shaw prefers an experienced figure with Blackpool's Ian Holloway his first choice.

His alternatives include Huddersfield's Simon Grayson and MK Dons chief Karl Robinson.

I am not convinced Holloway would be a success - has done well at Blackpool with limited resources but think he has found his niche there.

His time as manager of Leicester was a distaster and their fans think he is a clown.

Think because of our current situation, and because he seemingly wants to come, some are over rating his abilities far too much.

It's all relative, John!

Here's a couple of other clichés for good measure:

Beggars can't be choosers

You get what you pay for

I still remember talk of Beckham and Ronaldinho. Ollie would be a coup by the standards set by the last 2 year.
