  1. 1. Which of the following managers would you accept

Recommended Posts

I'm expecting an announcement either today or tomorrow, got a strong feeling it will be Ian Holloway, too much speculation indicating it will be him. Blackpool will want us to either put up or shut up, as they will use the speculation as an excuse for poor recent results.

lets hope so.

If you're looking to win the league (and I'm assured your 'different class' squad deserves that), you need about 2 points a game.

Only three managers this season can boast that in the Championship.

Malky Mackay, Nigel Pearson and Steve Kean.

Maybe pick from one of those three.

One manager over a period of time has done it too, Owen Coyle, and won promotion to boot, something the others havent acheived,so Sam, your new manager awaits, unless he goes to Rovers first!!!

not billy mckinley we will be back to protest in two months (against the owners) its nothing against billy just as someone mentioned earlier there are so many better options! At the end of the day any manager is a gamble however what we need to do is reduce the risk of that gamble and looking at this 'list' they have made holloway is the best option especially as he would come!!!!!

Come on balaji grow a pair and make the move!!

It's amazing how just because McKinley is fav one bookmaker that everybody thinks he's going to be the next manager.

Well what we have here is two options

1) The obvious majority of fans choice to provide passion and honesty and attacking football to ewood while galvanizing the fans - holloway

2) The unknown not particularly popular, cheap, unproven potential yes man that would alienate the fans - mckinley

Now to 99% of this website the choice is perfectly obvious however where it gets interesting is the people making this decision are a group called the venkys who in their short time in charge have - got rid if tom finn, john williams, sacked big sam, not sacked steve kean, emplyed steve kean, employed shebby singh, got rid of every senior player......

so you tell me what is more likely?

According to Cryer, there is another name ahead of him, even at this late stage. Cryer has been bang on the money throughout this whole affair and I believe he is on it once again.

What's betting that its someone straight out of left field. I suspect whoever it is, hasn't even been mentioned by us.

The Venkys way...

I think Shebby may come round to the idea of Holloway if he thinks his own relationship with the fans will suffer by blocking the appointment.

No he has not, he's too egotistical for that. He'll scrounge more money go get Sherwood then do a moonlight as his boy wonder fails miserably.

That would not surprise me in the slightest. Shebby knows the pressure is on him to deliver, perhaps he's been searching far and wide. Just hoping now that Sherwood seems to be out of the picture, we may actually hire somebody this week.

I watched the Blackpool v Burnley game today (replay from last night) and the commentators quoted Holloway as saying the rumours tying him to Rovers are a lot of rubbish, make of that what you will. The thing that concerns me in all of tis is Singh, just waht is his job description and I don't mean his Global advisor title. Are the stories of him being at the training ground and kitted out true if so what the hell is going on, I don't trust him nor the so called owners and the clowns in the circus well don't get me started.

It's also strange why all the so called ITKers have suddenly gone very quiet and Glen Mullen you once said you speak to Singh every day well surely you have a better idea of his "brief" so what really does he do or will he do and more to the point what's really happening on the manager front.Singh is involved in the hunt for a manager,Glen you speak to him regularly, are we to believe you dont ask the questions that we all want answers to.

Balaji is a big fan of Holloway. I can assure you.

I've read this many times, so why has Balaji not just pulled rank and told the little man to go get it done. Perhaps the little man does not like Holloway cos he will steal the spotlight from him with his personality

In what respect?

He's generally merely repeated what has been widely reported in the National media after the event.

Anyone can say "There is another name ahead of Holloway" without specifying a name.

If anyone other than Holloway is appointed he'll claim the credit whether he actually knew about it or not.

If Holloway is appointed he'll ignore the claim or make out things changed.

Can't really lose.

If he specifies a name, which subsequently comes to fruition, then that would be impressive. Particularly if it's a left field name no-one else was really mooting.

We've been down this sort of route before with the "mystery striker" nonsense of a few seasons ago.

The way Michel Salgado has been tweeting tonight suggests he has/ will apply...

I really miss that fella, for the short time he was here he had such passion out on the pitch. He was found wanting at times but man what a fireball character he was, would loved to have seen more of him in his heyday.

There is no way GN will come to Rovers and leave his England coaching job. working for sky allows his time to scout English players whlist commentating.

Plus he has always said he not interested in becoming a football manager.

Well if Chaddy says so,that's good enough for me. The Oracle had spoken and no doubt a link to confirm this is nigh...

If you follow Andy Cryer, he is very conservative with what he publishes. Any speculation is quickly dismissed and he only ever says anything if there is any substance to it. For him to make such a bold statement, saying that there is somebody in front of Holloway for the job and then quickly dismissing other candidates, he would have to be absolutely sure.

Besides, by far and away, he easily has the best sources of information at the club.

  • Moderation Lead

Ollie for me. Nixon and Coyle are lovers. Or is it just Nixon in love?

Coyle reminds me of Bruce. He can lift the spirit at first but is out of fuel when just half way travelled. Bolton must regret giving him more time instead of sacking him after the relegation. If it is Coyle or Black it´s Coyle.

Nixon just loves anyone Scottish or SEM.
