What I'd give to have him back in charge now :(

He's also just gained massive lad points for saying he turned down them clowns down the road!

Top guy, has forgotten more about football and winning than the likes of Kean, Black, Hendry and the Venky's will ever know.

It's all worked out so well for him, from flogging a dead horse here and defying gravity every year he is at a much bigger club with infinitely more potential. 7th place in the Prem after todays win. The 'Anti- Sam' facebook numpties are having their stupidity rammed right down their own throats right now. :) He must be pissing himself at the predicament slumdogs have engineered for themselves through nothing but crass stupidity and the base greed of the 'wormtongues' that they placed their trust in. Venkys loss is certainly the Porn brothers gain.

Can't argue with that. There used to be a lot of empty heads on this site, they're a bit quiet now though..

It's a classic case of 'you don't realise what you've got till its gone'

I'd have sacked him; I can't stand him. Not replacing him with a credible and more progressive manager (or any manager) was the mistake (and there have been many subsequent mistakes since obviously) they made.

Bleeding obvious at the time.

Now where's that prize idiot ? You know, the one who celebrated Sam's departure and then predicted he would not achieve promotion at West Ham. Oh, and who also thinks Di Canio is a sensible choice as Rovers manager.

Talking of idiots, there's one of em......

big sam is a classic case of a reliable but old banger of car that you couldnt wait to get rid of for a nice new flash one, only to find when you got this new car you totalled it, now you have no car!!!

Wind your neck in Compo. I'm still here, and I'm not going to take you lot on in your latest Sam circle-w@nk.

Di Canio would be sensible choice - but not to xenophobes who know nothing about him other than what you've read in the Sun and Star. Bloody foreigner etc. Certainly a better choice than a proven failure like McCarthy, but then you've got a little bit of the old man love going on for bluff northerners a haven't you Jimbo? Di Canio wouldn't put up with the idiots running the club for longer than 5 minutes anyway - still think Black's gonna get the gig.

Proven failure that is McCarthy?

Oh yeah, that's right, the guy that's won the league that we are in twice.

Also on his last outing he kept Wolves in the division for two years in a row on pretty limited resources and was pretty unfairly sacked last time when they were level on points with 16th place and had a fighting chance of staying up.

Not to say he hasn't had failures, but certainly in the league we are in now he is a proven success

Also it's pretty pathetic to label those with an opposition to Di Canio as being xenophobic. I'm just about as far away from that description as one could possibly get, and for all people might say about Jim referring to him in those terms is ridiculous too.

My opposition to Di Canio is because he's far right wing and therefore presumably xenophobic.

Don't judge him til you've read this (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/profiles/paolo-di-canio-my-life-speaks-for-me-6273526.html) - he might be a bit nutty but you can't argue his footballing ethos is not what we need right now.

Yes I'm being a little harsh about McCarthy - he might be OK but we can do better, and if he got us promoted we'd likely struggle (given his Prem record) and want rid in 12 months - and we all know how Venky's like to stand by their man ;)

....ahhhh there he is. Mr "Sensible Choice" Di Canio.

A very strange post from somebody who, I assume, purports to be a Rovers supporter.

Complete with smiley. You seem delighted.

You would still have sacked him? Deary me. There are very few better than Sam as we are now finding out. It might be quite some time before we find someone half as good.

Hardly newsworthy is it this? We've been guff without him and should never have binned him obviously.

Just another opportunity for the media to give us yet another kick in the teeth.

Seeing as my first reply was deleted by the messageboard Thought Police I guess you prove the saying that some fools never learn.

Just think he's an arrogant ass and that any reasonable manager could have survived in the league with the squad we had.

I could say the same for you as your post will probably be deleted as anything slightly off topic is.

Rovers sacking Allardyce was literally the stupidest thing I've seen any club do in decades. That many fans approved of it is a very depressing reflection on the overall intelligence level of our support.
