47er Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 We aren't a laughing stock. Nobody actually cares. I know you must take up a different position for the sake of it but YES WE ARE!

Roost Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Same, I got ripped this morning too. Rewind 3 years and we were showing the same people how a club can be run with honesty, integrity and respect. Seems a lifetime away now.
John Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Rewind 3 years and we were showing the same people how a club can be run with honesty, integrity and respect. Seems a lifetime away now. Exactly, I remember being so proud.

Glosrover Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I will make a longer post on why I feel Berg is a good choice when I get Internet back online as I won't do it on the phone. I don't claim to know everything about him but I will give you my personal opinion of his management career in the two clubs, playing style etc Would be interesting to also hear whether he has a team of backroom staff he may bring with him, (and if he has taken them with him to clubs before) . Whilst it would be good to have the manager in place, cant help thinking the backroom staff we currently have need to be shown the door, starting with the fitness coach (if indeed there is one), the defensive coach, the assistant manager and hopefully the global advisor. Kindov hoping that if Berg does get the job then he has enough contacts in the English game to get a team assembled quickly........
braddock Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I know you must take up a different position for the sake of it but YES WE ARE! In the same way that if someone said they were a Hull fan I'd laugh at them. Because Hull are rubbish. I don't loads about them at the moment, just like the majority of the country don't (they are outside the top flight, you know). Nobody outside of Blackburn knows most of what's going on (as is the case for everyone who has half an opinion on any team), and most people who are a Rovers supporter don't know much of what's going on. If you speak to enough football fans (or even follow this message board) you'll realise that they don't know much about individual teams, and to be honest, the amount of morons who follow and talk about football and just replicate TalkSport means it's for the vast majority it's a largely pointless discussion. At the end of the day it's just if you work with someone they will wind you up about who you support.
RoverScot Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Rover's return: Blackburn old boy Berg to be their new manager Nixon going for the confirmation. Still 2-1 at some bookies...
tomphil Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Nicko's strike rate is about as good as Keans win ratio.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 http://www.mirror.co...manager-1408647 Hardly earth shattering, based on what the norwegian media have been saying. I wonder if it will be correct - or be another £50m transfer budget story.
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Berg? A very risky appointment in a season with one hell of an enormous risk attached to it i.e. promotion or bust. I think if it happens it's going to be a disastrous appointment, I hope my fears are proven wrong.
Backroom Tom Posted October 30, 2012 Backroom Posted October 30, 2012 I tend to believe Nickos pass the parcel analogy Shebby promised an appointment tomorrow and its ended up being a decision by default If its Berg he will have my full support and it could have been worse but i feel Shebby will have failed a mission that has taken 5 weeks
Lie_still_Rover Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 http://www.wsc.co.uk/the-archive/31-Players/444-graeme-of-truth Nice article about Berg and the affinity he has for the club..
RoverScot Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Nicko's strike rate is about as good as Keans win ratio. He has even self-referenced his own Maradona speculation rather than simply say Berg has the job.
Dunnfc Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Oh dear oh dear. Probably the end for some fans. Massive letdown.
chaddyrovers Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I tend to believe Nickos pass the parcel analogy Shebby promised an appointment tomorrow and its ended up being a decision by default If its Berg he will have my full support and it could have been worse but i feel Shebby will have failed a mission that has taken 5 weeks Berg will get my full support as manager. He wasnt first choice but might be the right choice. He has experience as manager. Does anybody know what type of football and Formation Berg played in Norway???
BuckyRover Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 When you think about this in the cold light of day and think about who Venky's could have appointed I think they have done alright. For a while I thought we could end up with Ali or McKinlay. They were never going to appoint an experienced manager Berg won't hang on for grim death if it does go wrong.
Stuart Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I tend to believe Nickos pass the parcel analogy Shebby promised an appointment tomorrow and its ended up being a decision by default If its Berg he will have my full support and it could have been worse but i feel Shebby will have failed a mission that has taken 5 weeks Agreed Tom.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Oh dear oh dear. Probably the end for some fans. Massive letdown. To be honest - if appointing an ex-player, with managerial experience - who has always been held in high regard by the fans and players - means the end for some fans - they can't be true fans.

47er Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 But he's bald and I'm terrified of getting flashbacks when he stands near the touchline!
ABBEY Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 . I don't loads about them at the moment, You call me thick but i will be buggered if I undersatnd this.
4000Holes Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I will make a longer post on why I feel Berg is a good choice when I get Internet back online as I won't do it on the phone. I don't claim to know everything about him but I will give you my personal opinion of his management career in the two clubs, playing style etc It now looks like Berg but very interested in what you have to say. Get back on line soon.
Kelbo Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 If its Berg, I will be happy, he knows the club, is a very honest and open person and speaking to one of his ex coaches, is very clued up on football and tactics, a good organiser and when he speaks, people listen, could have been much worse, ie: Mara bleeding dona, Mckinley, Flitcroft, Robinson and even McCarthy, who I think is played out now!! A young manager, great experience in the game, understands the club, depends who he brings as his number 2 and coaches, my guess would be Craig Short will come with him!!
Rover down South Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Oh dear oh dear. Probably the end for some fans. Massive letdown. Lets wait and see first shall we? He may well turn out to be a fantastic appointment. I for one will give him and the team my FULL support. Rewind six weeks,
