I tend to believe Nickos pass the parcel analogy

Shebby promised an appointment tomorrow and its ended up being a decision by default

If its Berg he will have my full support and it could have been worse but i feel Shebby will have failed a mission that has taken 5 weeks

5 weeks ago he was bragging about the quality of interest in the job, not just in the UK but worldwide (his words)

So from that list, how do we end up firstly with Sherwood as the target and then McKinley? The whole process has been bizarre, headed by some egocentric ex footballer. Truly baffling.

Best wishes to Berg, he will need it.

I do hope no-one's been lumping on Holloway.

Too outspoken to work for this shower of kean.

I assume it will be Berg then. Not sure how I feel about that at all. Really strange pick. Are they hoping that the fans will come flocking back just because a title-winner from '95 is the manager? they'll be disappointed, I think.

http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/blackburn-rovers/news/berg-blames-venkys-for-relegation_26627.html - Berg has been Critical of Venkys in the past on Talksport Allegedly.

I'm fairly content with Berg as Manager if it does happen, yes he wasn't the glamorous choice, but ultimately I have faith he will bring stability. I'm tired of feeling negative all the time. If Berg is the manager just let it be, accept it and embrace it. Let's support the club we love and try to enjoy a club which has been devoid of any joy for the last 2 years.

Clean slate if this is true. Henning Bergs blue & white army! If we are going to get out of this league the whole club has to pull together as one. Fans, owners, manager and players.

I always liked Berg at Rovers, always gave 100% and was an excellent player. If he gets it then I really hope it works out for him and more importantly, he is given a chance by the fans. He cannot be treated like Kean!!! He is a Rovers legend and must be supported through thick and thin.

If its Berg I will support him but he really shouldn't be anywhere near the role. I hope he's a success but for me we needed experience.

And someone should really be in trouble for the time it's taken to appoint an out of work manager with zero experience of managing an English team.

With the earlier post from Kamy re : Norwegian tv descending on Ewood tomorrow and Nicko's comment and article in the Mirror seems that the whisper of an appointment is out. Henning Berg's blue and white army he will get my backing could have been worse. Will get my ticket for Huddersfield tomorrow lets get behind the boys and unite starting next Tues palace is too far and holds bad memories. Can't really judge his managerial career because I am unaware of his record however was always a solid pro and gave his all to the rovers cause. Good luck Henning welcome back.

I don't think Henning will ever become hated by the Rovers fans, should we fail under his stewardship all vitriol will (hopefully) be cast onto the idiots that own our club. Shebby has potentially made their lives a lot harder with this appointment. Berg will not be another Kean, ready to take the flak for boardroom lunacy. I'm confident he'll tell it like it is.

Berg was probably the best defender we have ever had grace Ewood. Consistency was his trademark. He always gave his all for us and i know that if he's given the gig he'll always give his all in that position too. Can't say i'm overjoyed with the decision and it does feel like an opportunity frittered away, but he'll have my support and i wish him well.

I have to be honest, if we were going for the ex-player bounce, Shearer would have been a better bet in the short term. I suspect Berg might be the better bet long term, but i hope that Singh et al are prepared for the backlash coming their way.

Considering we have to get promoted first time going for someone with experience, especially experience of this league and getting out of it would have been the logical path to take. This is a very very risky appointment. If it pays off then fantastic, but if it doesn't then that is Shebby finished, Venky's finished and possibly the beginning of the end of this club.

If its Berg, I will be happy, he knows the club, is a very honest and open person and speaking to one of his ex coaches, is very clued up on football and tactics, a good organiser and when he speaks, people listen, could have been much worse, ie: Mara bleeding dona, Mckinley, Flitcroft!!

A young manager, great experience in the game, understands the club, depends who he brings as his number 2 and coaches, my guess would be Craig Short will come with him!!

I do agree with this Kelbo. He has experience and he knows the club inside out.

I hope we keep Black and Mimms as part of the coaching staff.but we need a proper fitness coach in tho.

Agreed 100%

I will back Berg. If he's the manager we have to get behind him and the team.

As to Venkys and Shebby, this took 5 weeks? They've yet again failed to cover themselves with glory or otherwise demonstrate they have the competence to run a football club.

To be honest - if appointing an ex-player, with managerial experience - who has always been held in high regard by the fans and players - means the end for some fans - they can't be true fans.

Well obviously they're not true fans if they've given up on the club.

Some of them though, will probably have been bigger fans than you ever will be. They were fine until Venky's took over.

Agreed. If he is announced before Saturday, I am going to stay down here and take in the game at Palace, get a ticket for Huddersfield and get 100% behind Berg
