[Archived] New Manager Part 3

It is used as a way of measuring fitness levels. I think that was the point.

The point is mute as I have one player who can finish the yo-yo level 1 but drops out at level 15 on the bleep. Right test for the right type of fitness.

Never in a football match do players lift weights but they spend plenty of time in the gym building strength.

Ah are you going to be my little troll now? How flattering.

Just so you're aware my team haven't lifted a weight in the gym for over 4 months, and we're top of our league scoring more than double the number of goals of our closest rivals. And anyway if you knew ought you'd know strength is merely a factor influenced by other more important attributes, like speed and power. All the top coaches mainly use functional strength training, i'll let you google away and catch up.

I hope the tone and approach of my post is to your liking, if not I'm sure you'll respond in your usual insulting and derogatory manner.

And why would such an attribute be integral do you think?

Because the fans have drummed it in to those above that they need to be appeased in some way.

Because they are convinced their opinion matters on the grand scheme of things.

I see you're playing your usual drum-----------its the fans fault.

So he's got a puppet who isn't a puppet?

Just stick to being a parasite in this life.

do you have a dictionary next to your keyboard that you randomly pick words from and then make a post around them?

Some say Berg is not a yes man. Don't underestimate the power of cash and being plucked from obscurity

Berg has it all to proove

+1

This is bergs big break. He has the chance to be a premier league manager in a year. It would probably take much more for him to relinquish this job than his previous ones, no disrespect.

I'm sure he's not a yes man but can you see hin being offered this kind of role again? If he wasn't an ex player I doubt he would have been considered for a job in this league.

Yes you are also entitled to air your concerns and its great you go to many away matches, but lets just sit back and think for a moment, Henning has played for arguably the best manager in English football SAF, also came back to Rovers and helped us get out of this very same league which was a damn sight harder back in 2001 or whenever it was than it appears to be this season, so he knows what's required, and reading Puffscans article will not allow Shebby to interfere so as many are saying, yes a little underwhelmed but maybe the catalyst we need.110% support from all.

Roy Keane and Fergy's son played under him too but were bloody awful managers!

It is a gamble, it shouldn't have been. We all know who's to blame and that's the source of any anger on here. None of it is directed at Berg who, I'm sure, will get all the support we can give him.

Whether the same goes for the owners and the Global Adviser, we'll see.

It is partly. But mainly the owners.

It's just annoying when nobody acknowledges any responsibility for anything any fan has ever done. The actions groups have had their faults as well as their positives.

No, I use a thesaurus. That way I never quite get the exact word I want but it's in the right ballpark.

Make no mistake, Shebby Singh clearly wanted a puppet and for him, that's what's he's got. However, as time will tell, Berg is not one to be told how to do things and will refuse to be the puppet even if it means the end of his employment. Should be an interesting season.........I can't see any end to the tension behind the scenes.

Like a Puppet on a Singh?

Strength is ability to express tension, but it's a wide spectrum, ranging from speed strength, strength endurance, through to explosive strength and max strength.

So in a way speed and power are actually strength attributes themselves, no?

Apologies if this is what you were saying anyway.

As is Booth's opinion, Shebby thinks he's got a puppet but he hasn't. He thinks Berg will tow the party line but he wont. Berg is not a yes man even if Shebby has appointed him thinking that he is.

And you know this because?

I'm sure Shebby has met and interviewed Henning to see what kind of man he is and I'd say that was a bit more reliable test of character than a few things you've heard on message boards here and there.

If Shebby wanted a puppet, and Henning is his own man, I'm sure both or at least one of them would realise that during the interview.

Berg is set for life, he's not an opportunist crook like kean who wants to fill his banking account.

He probably earned around 200-400k £ a year as manager in norway, he doesn't need the cash.

I suggest you trust every norwegian fan and pundit who says he's not a yes man.

I don't claim to know more than English people on the likes of holloway or McCarthy etc, you should give us the same respect.

Many people will be underwhelmed by berg but I believe it's a very shrewd appointment. His teams play in the way I like - solid at the back, passing football with pace throughout the team. He's also good at bringing the young players through which is important for our club.

He also loves the club and won't tale any nonsense. I'm pleased and think many will in time.

I also think it could be a shrewd move. He loves the club, defensive, his own man and not a yes mad.

I think he will get respect, hope he does ok

A lot of the fan base is upset at the process though

Surely your post should be named at Maj, who suggested that the bleep test shouldn't be used as players "never run continuously in a game."

Now keep jogging you cretin.

Still struggling to address the original point. Keep going- PM me by all means, you're one of the denser posters by all accounts so it shouldn't take too long.

I've addressed the original point and you've responded with an insulting PM. Do you understand the expression practice what you preach?

You love throwing the names around and telling people how it is and yet have no knowledge of what your talking about. You generally insult and belittle people in almost every post and yet you take issue with the way others post. For some bizarre reason you take personal issue with me and now will be trolling my every post to satisfy your little complex. The joys of hypocrites. One can only assume life living in the batcave is lonely and you struugle to build relationships ala your avatar.

I look forward to the next PM.

Just a thought...

What of Henning Berg turns out to be an excellent manager?!

Thought I'd just add some balance to this message board.

Then I'm sure it would annoy one or two on this board. Not a lot, but I'm sure one or two.

Lets hope he does. My issue like many others is that this whole procedure has been nothing short of a disgrace and if this is an indication of how Shabby runs thing then we are in the sh!te.

Way to prove my point. Broadcasting PM's on the board? I'm sure your loyal supporters will be here to rub you down shortly.

Main point is that none of use really can say whether he will be an overall success or failure. Neither can Mr Singh (I still refuse to use his first name).

He's gambling with the club's future for his own self-aggrandisement. And the stakes are very high (but he's gambling with other people's money).
