SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Berg was a good player for us....and hoping he does well of course...but... Just so we are clear. Just so it is known. Venkys took a MONTH. A MONTH of searching. Before they found a novice manager....whose record is marginally better than Steve Kean's (due to the fact that by default Steve Kean is worse than syphilus) ....and worse than Paul Ince's. A MONTH to find this man with this record. Hard to disagree with that opinion.Good luck all the same Henning!
arealbrfcfan Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 "Henning Berg's blue and white army" it has a good ring to it, I like it!
Puffsan Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Unless he has a wife who will stand up for him and go shopping with Mrs. D then he she won't say yes. Funny thing about Henning's wife. He met her while he was still married & Current wife was pregnant with their second child. He left his first wife just after child was born. When he later Married his new wife he accidently called her with his former wife's name in his wedding speech. The marriage was almost canceled, but after he took her last name it was enough to convince her. Henning bergs name on paper is actually now henning stille berg. She has come out defending him in public on at least one occasion
Boylerhaus Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 The way I see it Shebby is a clown and Henning is a man of conviction. If Steve Kean could have garnered the amount of control he had at one point, surely Henning will find it relatively easy to take full control at Ewood. Then we will have an intelligent man with genuine affection for the club calling the shots. I just hope he can get the team playing well and quickly. Behind him 100%

alexanders Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Henning bergs name on paper is actually now henning stille berg. Which means silent. Henning Silent Berg
Howler Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 No wonder Venky's like HENning "chicken" Berg(er)....cue conspiracy theory

It's the only way you can affect things. Get on the inside.
bluebruce Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Entirely underwhelmed. Nostalgia won't get us promoted. That said, good luck Henning, I truly hope you're a success here (again!). You're just pretty much an unknown entity at this point is all. And no, two stints as a PLAYER at the club make no difference to that, as it's entirely different being a manager and your managerial CV is minimal and breeds mixed opinions. Hope it works out in spite of that and you lead us back to the promised land. Hopefully the start of change. So have the owners said "yes" yet? According to the LET.
jim mk2 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Berg will have to be a political animal to survive at Rovers. Negotiating and having to deal with diverse "characters" such as Singh, Shaw and his sidekick plus dealing with the Bollywood brothers won't be easy. There's clearly too many chiefs and too many Indians at Ewood Park. .
Clitherover Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 betvictor still taking bets on this at 1/5
alexanders Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 and your managerial CV is minimal and breeds mixed opinions. I think every single manager out there does.

There's clearly too many chiefs and too many Indians at Ewood Park. . So he has to be political, he has to work to a budget, sort out his backroom staff, has to get to know his players, he has to get to know the championship and he has to get some fitness/discipline instilled into a lagging squad and he has to lift the changing room. Welcome to Rovers Henning! Good luck!
Reedy You're A Star Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Ben Smith @BenSmithBBC Henning Berg will be confirmed as the new Blackburn mamager at a press conference tomorrow. Agreed a 3-year deal
Boylerhaus Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Berg is our double agent. It's the only way you can affect things. Get on the inside. Our club has been marred by internal battles for so long now. The biggest problem is since Williams and Finn have left the battlers have for the most part been selfish idiots. It'll be interesting to see how Henning does against them
forumquizmaster Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 No wonder Venky's like HENning "chicken" Berg(er)....cue conspiracy theory Superb!!
Stockport rover Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Imagine there were no rumours, how do we even know holloway wanted the job? One thing is simple: Berg > Kean and that's all that matters at this point.
rovers238 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,,12606_8214434,00.html Sky Sports view.
Speedie Dived Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 100% behind Berg and the players 0.1% behind the owners Personally don't think there is much of a difference between Berg and McKinlay, but he will get backed none the less.
booth Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Ben Smith @BenSmithBBC Henning Berg will be confirmed as the new Blackburn mamager at a press conference tomorrow. Agreed a 3-year deal He should sign now, things change fast at Rovers. Pele could be here tomorrow.
Steve Moss Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 It occurs to me that one of the best things about Berg's appointment is that the fans won't likely turn on him. Rather we'd more likely direct our ire against Venkys, where it belongs if things go south.
