I

Last thing il say to make sure im not crossing any illegal boundries is that the player in question was was injured on a midweek game, whilst being "injured" offered a new contract worth 80-90 k a week and turned it down he later left. Player was also approached by another big club that year and was rumoured to have turned down 110k to stay at BRFC. Before the injury... He told his family who told a mate of mine who told menot so long ago. Player wasnt suprised Kean went and in my mates opinion was largely unpopular with the team.

What im getting at is don't be fooled by thinking we can't afford the compo for sherwood, if we wanted him we would get him. It's more of a question that he probably would never have come in a million years... because the impression of people is that you don't know what is exactly happening at BRFC... It is so uncertain and a potencial blotch on your cv if it keans up.

My friend for some reason heard from a source that Redknapp would be intrested if

A. Was given time and money to ship in and out in January.

B. What role Shebby will play because he had ZAJEC at pompey who apparently was the main boss and vowed to never work with a DOF again.

C. Rumoured to have not been intrested at first however he is warming to the idea of promotion with Rovers being deemed an easier target.

yawwwwwwwwwwwwwn!!!

correct, Glen Mullan call Shebby and get him on the case

If Glen does that, everyone else will begin slating him and BRAG for getting involved in the selection process and we're going to have the whole "fans should not be involved in choosing manager" argument all over again. I'll continue to be on Glen's side, though.

Sounds like Ryan Nelsen to me. He was the only one who left us while supposedly being injured and later ended up playing for Tottenham Hotspurs for a full 90 minutes. Plus as the club captain, I can see why they are offering him 80-90k a week to stay.

I don't think fans should be involved in the process, but I don't think the Action Group are trying to be. If people can't keep their mouths shut and word gets out, I think they're entitled to pass comment, especially if there is as widespread of a reaction as there was. I also don't think it's out of line for the Action Group to comment on the rumours. Something along the lines of approving of the rumours as a statement wouldn't go amiss. Shebby doesn't have to take the advice and the Action Group doesn't have to threaten boycotts or protests if Redknapp isn't appointed.

Jol on SkySports saying he doesn't want BM to go so as it was a formal request he said no, he said but of course if they really want him they could speak to him informally.

:o

If anyone is at Ewood Park or Brockhall, please turn off Sky Sports News and make sure Shebby doesn't see this.

I must admit, I still don't understand all the love for Holloway. Blackpool are doing s*** at the moment.

I know he 'gives a good presser' but isn't a bit of footballing tactical nous needed at Rovers right now, not a comedian who just happens to be popular with the media because of his David Mitchellesque rants?

I know you could say the same thing about Harry, but Redknapp has actually achieved footballing success in his career, not been a one season wonder who got his team up then relegated again by playing what Sky deem to be 'the right way' and that's it like Holloway.

I think it's best to look at the bigger picture, not the last few results. Don't forget Blackpool were doing very well and their squad is really poor. None of the parachute payments have gone back into the team, they sell their best players every summer and they don't have a training ground.

If there's ever been a time for BRAG to put some pressure on Shebby it's now.

Yes, 100%.

Quite clearly Harry would appease the vast majority of Rovers fans and if there is a chance of us getting him, then Singh needs pointing in this direction by the people he's liaising with.

steady that man, thought you were into foriegn birds

Turn down the lights and think of England. Remember, stiff upper lip and all of that. :)

I think BRAG is a great group. But perhaps they should wait until Shebby or Shaw or the Roas ask for input, rather than volunteer it? Absent an emergency (McKinlay), of course.

I think we should have a poll whether or not we would spontaneously combust if Harry Redknapp became the Rovers manager.

I'd appreciate Harry here as he's something we've not had in 2 years, a real manager.

Sounds like a come and get him plea by jol

It most definitely was. Said he wouldn't stand in his way unofficially as he wouldn't want to stop him from bettering himself but officially he didn't want to lose him so said no to the phone call.

Very strange statement.

Oh well, it was nice whilst it lasted....

HARRY REJECTS ROVERS RUMOURS

Pretty sure that counts as a quote too, "no chance."

Bit harsh. He took Blackpool up on a tiny budget when absolutely nobody expected them to go up. He set up Blackpool very well in the PL considering he had no money to spend then either (the owner had pretty much accepted they'd go down so kept the money, rather than investing). Took them to the play offs last year and had a good start this year until the recent slump.

He's got an eye for a bargain as well; Charlie Adam, Matt Phillips, Tom Ince. They'd agreed a deal for Charlie Austin but he chose Burnley.

I'd put him below Redknapp and Solskjaer, but he would a solid choice at this level whilst providing more excitement than other choices like McCarthy, Billy Davies etc.

And yet despite the numerous sackings and vacancies that have appeared in both the Premier League and richer Championship clubs since he did that, not once has another club looked at him.

Why if he's so good?

Don't get me wrong, if it's a toss up between him and Mckinley he wins by a mile, I just think he's being a tad overrated by Rovers fans (which is understandable given the dross we've had to put with in the last 18 months).

Who the hell comes out with the crap that Redknapp was interested when he clearly wasn't?. As with all the other big name links it was never going to happen.

I bet another approach goes in for McKinlay after what Jol said, I expect he's going to be unveiled as our new manager within the next few days.
